The gluten free diet "in real life" was the focus of a recent study out of Canada and Argentina. Participants were tested for gluten consumption and found that weekends were particularly vulnerable for gluten sneaking in. Listen to more about this interesting study and takeaways.

The recalled products include: 16-ounce packages of Coconut Cashew Grain-Free Granola with the UPC Code 8551400002946 and best by dates of Nov. 30, 2019 and Dec. 3, 2019; eight-ounce packages of Coconut Cashew Grain-Free Granola with the UPC Code 855140002700 and best by date of Oct. 19, 2019; eight-ounce Banana Nut Butter Grain-Free Granola with the UPC Code 855140002724 with best by dates of Oct. 17, 2019 and Dec. 12, 2019; and Pumpkin Spice w/Ashwagandha Superfood Grain-Free Granola with the UPC Code 810589030158 and best by date of Dec. 7, 2019.

A pilot study used two cooking classes to facilitate adherence to a gluten free diet for those with Celiac Disease. This pilot, run by Randi Wolf, PhD from Columbia University, showed an increase in healthier eating, greater confidence in cooking and perceived perception of social support. Most importantly, patients showed greater adherence to a gluten free diet.

On this season (7) of Master Chef Junior, there's an amazing contestant: Che Spiotta. Not only does he have incredible culinary skills but he is also gluten free. There are quite a few dishes he's created on the show that he's been unable to taste, which is amazing! Master Chef Jr. aires on Fox.

Che started cooking at the age of 3. When he went gluten free, he began experimenting even more with his cooking. Good luck Che!
