The latest episode of Land-Grant Holy Land’s flagship podcast is here! Join hosts Justin Golba and Alex Frank as they discuss Ohio State football, basketball, recruiting, and much more! Come for the hot takes. Stay for the warm ones.
On the Minnesota recap episode of "Hangout in the Holy Land," Land-Grant Holy Land's co-managing editor Matt Tamanini pinch-hits for Justin and Alex and giddily (and nearly incoherently) runs through his thoughts about the Ohio State Buckeyes' 42-3 dominating win over the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Julian Sayin and the OSU offense pushed the ball downfield for the first time this season and proved that they still very much know how to push those buttons when they want to. Matt is convinced that, despite what some in the national and online media have tried to to you, the lack of deep balls through the first four games was more about taking what the defenses were giving and sticking to Day's season-long script to get Sayin ready for the postseason than the head coach not trusting his quarterback to make those plays.
Matt also talks through the incomprehensibly impressive Buckeye defense. The fact that so many of the Silver Bullet players can do so many different things not only makes it exceedingly difficult for opposing quarterbacks to diagnose coverages and pressures, but it also means that Matt Patricia can get exotic and funky.
Finally, Matt discusses the highs and lows of the special teams adventure for OSU.
