“The worst thing I ever heard was my mom screaming when she saw me shackled in an orange jumpsuit. I was 13 years old.”
Christopher came up in the crucible.
Domestic violence, addiction, foster care, jail time, Chris only knew how to cope with violence,
oblivion,
or both.
And so he went.
School, work, gang life.
And on his darkest days,
“I Lost my daughter, couldn’t afford to store my stuff, lost my job, lost my partner, sleeping on someone's couch, I was one step away from being homeless and I had to ask myself,
what's one thing that I'm doing wrong, that I know I'm doing wrong, that I can fix?”
Tune in this week and listen to Chris #takeoftheblinders around addiction, domestic violence, and gang life in Northern Saskatchewan.
We'll talk about what Chris was like, what happened, and how he found passion and fulfillment in helping others find their way like he did with his non-profit organization, Men of the North.
“don't think that you're so high and mighty you can't learn from the humble opportunities that are presented to you.”
You won't want to miss this one friends as we realize the struggle men face in Northern Saskatchewan, and what Chris is doing to help this week right here, on Hard Knox Talks.
Buckle up.
