  • Write Your Stress Away

Welcome to “Healing From Within.” I am your host Sheryl Glick Reiki Master Energy Healer and Medium and author of the third book completing the trilogy A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Messages to Support Global Awakening shares a way to imagine past economics politics social or religious issues healthy happy people working to understand life and beyond, through science and metaphysics using the laws of energy. I am delighted to welcome Diane Hartingh Price who with Susan McCullum co-authored Write Your Stress Away, an outstanding book offering readers mindful exercises that not only reduce stress and heal illness, but create a lifestyle that is ultimately meaningful.

Diane when asked to think back to her childhood and remember a person place or event that might have signaled to her or those around them the lifestyle and interests she might pursue in adulthood readily suggests that she always loved to write and her father encouraged her in that way, As a young mother she met her friend Susan who like her appreciated the art of writing and sharing her emotions in a way that helped her reduce stress and become aware of the many wonderful ways to share feelings through writing.

Diane and Susan tell us how they met and decided to write Write Your Stress Away and how writing helped them both address serious health issues faced early on? Our story begins with our friendship for a shared passion for writing health and well being. Fast forward twenty years. Within the same year, we were each diagnosed with a life-threatening disease, Sue with Type 1 diabetes and Diane with breast cancer. In that moment life changed drastically for both of us. Our paths took us in different directions, we both relied on writing to get through the ups and downs of life, including the stress associated with facing acute and chronic illnesses. When we finally shared our experiences, we were struck by how writing had been our lifeline on each of our healing journeys.

Writing had provided clarity, helped us with our decision making, reinforced what mattered most, and offered a release valve when we become emotionally overwhelmed. As we both recognized the powerful healing tool that writing provides we were inspired to create and integrate an approach we call WRITE TO BE WELL. In Diane’s case writing things down became a way of life at a young age. Intuitively journal writing became a mainstay for me in navigating the emotional waters of my life while facing the inevitable challenges as well as being diagnosed with cancer over 20 years ago. Writing helped me uncover the emotions that were driving my feeling like a victim and helped me to move on to self-advocate partnering with care providers. By writing what mattered most my values and powerful self-affirmation emerged being an inspiration to live life fully. Diane decided to share the gift of writing with those in her professional life During her years as a VP in a large consulting firm she met leaders of many organizations. They were executives who paid a big price with their health from the stress they experienced every day. Many adopted writing to support themselves in making personal as well as professional decisions and changes. After leaving the corporate world my life’s work focuses on writing, integrative health coaching, community service and sharing the integrated writing method.

Diane and co-author Sue are aware of the proof from research for this book that stress causes illness and writing improves health. Put the two together and use writing as a valuable tool to achieve and maintain optimal health and manage stress.

Around the time Sue was diagnosed with diabetes she took classes to become a facilitator in legacy, creative and memoir writing. She also achieved a degree in clinical counseling and began facilitating writing groups for her clients.

Sue also worked with women living in Malawi Africa and witnessed the power of writing to touch deep places within these women, many of whom had suffered from traumatic events. This experience showed me that writing our life stories, the painful ones as well as the joyful ones, is universally healing in any language. Diabetes is an unrelenting inconvenient disease that is with Sue 24/7 but writing about it has helped her shift her perspective so she can live side by side with diabetes without having it ruin my life.

The affirmation Sue lives with daily is “ I am a healthy vibrant woman living successfully with diabetes.” Sheryl says that she often has coincidences or synchronicity with her amazing guests and like Sue wakes up every morning and says “I am in a fit and healthy body and so happy to go out into the world and have new experiences with wonderful people.”

Also Sheryl’s son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 22 years old and in her new book A New Life Awaits: Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening Gregg shares in written form his journey and challenges and indeed gives a voice of hope and vision to those who will read it. It helped him to write it and others to read it of that Sheryl is sure. A New Life Awaits shares stories of how to deal with the many social, political, economic , religious and health issues of these modern times and to know life in its eternal dance of energy and love.

And also like Sue, Sheryl has seven grandchildren she loves spending time with.

We talk about optimal health and ways to work towards that end. Optimal health is not a quick fix: it is a lifelong process of choices to support your health and well being both in mind, body and spirit. Of course, there will be stumbling blocks and poor choices along the way: yet with a vision based on your values you can manage health challenges even when you slip up now and then. Are you stressed at work, overwhelmed with balancing family and job responsibilities, angry at your health diagnosis or even grieving the good health you once had. Do you ask , “Why me?” Or, you may be feeling shame or guilt about the poor health choices you’ve made in the past. Whatever, the emotions are they might be interfering with your ability to take action.

Emotions play a role in your health decisions. What might be values and priorities that help in making good decisions?

Sheryl says that in almost every situation we encounter moving from a negative or lower vibrational energy or through to what we desire which is a higher level of joy, happiness and peace is the normal state of being. So fearful emotions attack the brain and body like the primitive response of fight or flight, secreting hormones to give us the ability to survive attacks of any kind and while necessary over time if this state is not moderated it can cause health issues.. So it is important to feel, evaluate and utilize the emotions in ways that serve our needs. For example fear when you have to move away from a snake or bear is a valuable tool, but fear that is self-imposed by assuming values of the outside world, instead of trusting your own instincts for what is good for you, will affect your thoughts and physical body negatively. We must find what our needs are and work to fulfill our own goals.

We can all agree that stress can do havoc to our health and our choices. Let’s find out about the types of stress and how stress impacts your mind, body and spirit for better or worse. While the stress response or release of stress hormones to aid in our survival in challenging dangerous physical threats to our safety and is necessary for survival today due to the many challenges of a modern lifestyle, the body is constantly in a state of stress not merely when there are physical threats to our safety. Physically this results in two processes. The first set of stress hormones addresses short term responses causing increased heart and breathing rates, reduced activity in the stomach, reduced saliva production, dry mouth dilated pupils, and glucose released into the bloodstream. The second process addresses the sustained stress reaction. It causes the liver to release stored glucose to maintain a ready supply of fuel for the body while it suppresses the immune system. The activation and effects of the long -term stress response are similar to those of the short term however maintaining a raised heart and breathing rate inhibits digestion and so on over long periods of time has negative health consequences.

Whether the threat is physical, emotional, psychological , environmental, infectious or some combination of these our body reacts. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports that 110 million people die every year as a direct result of stress. That is seven people every two seconds. In addition, 75-90 percent of all physician office visits are reported to be for stress-related ailments and complaints. Heart disease cancer lung ailments accidents cirrhosis of the liver and suicide are reported as the sixth leading causes of death all with proven links to stress. Diabetes is noted as the seventh leading cause of death.

In 2009 Robert M. Sapolsky premised in his book Why Zebras Don’t Get Ulcers is that the human stress response is not only to physical threats such as a bear chasing you for getting near its honey but also to perceived mental, emotional and spiritual threats. The problem is those threats don’t subside thus our bodies are in a continual state of heightened physiological tension. This creates a rich environment for lifestyle disease to prevail as our bodies don’t return to a resting state or homeostasis.

While all this talk about stress might lead you to conclude it’s all bad. It’s not. Richard Lazarus offered three basic definitions. They are eustress, neustress and distress. Eustress is good stress that is inspiring or fulfilling. It might result in a rapid heartbeat and perspiration when asking your significant other to marry and they say yes for example. In general, good stress is short term. In these situations, you tend to have a lot of control over the outcome and the stress can motivate you. At the opposite end of the spectrum is distress. This type of stress is negative and is the general connotation of stress. Neustress is neutral stress. It is something that produces neither a good nor bad response in you. Example: Recently at lunch I heard at the next table 2 people talking about their auto repair wows. It sounded like one of them had a huge mess..I had no reaction as it had no immediate effect on me. I was therefore neutral about the whole situation. However if I had experience a recent repair that was a major hassle hearing that conversation

What emotions do most people feel when thinking about changing your health behaviors? The more details and emotions revealed in their writing the better the healing response. Although some students in the expressive writing group expressed sadness after writing their stories they also reported improved moods, a more positive outlook, greater physical health and fewer visits to the student health center. Also according to studies in brain science secrets, whether driven by shame, embarrassment, or resistance to share something personal with another person, creates conflict in the brain and causes the brain to release stress hormones. If there is no emotional release of the stress the excess hormones can weaken the immune system, increase blood pressure, heighten anxiety, and create a host of other ailments. It is known that inhibition or repressing detailed thoughts and feelings about an event takes a lot of work and energy and can place people at risk for -serious diseases. Written confession, which is similar to talk therapy reduces stress and improves health and well being. Clients in counseling who self-disclose their traumas and feelings make the most progress in terms of emotional healing and understanding. The deeper the wound the longer it takes to reveal the truth. Example Sheila raped by her uncle when she was eight years old found it difficult to talk about the event due to the shame and embarrassment she felt. Her uncle had threatened her to tell no one. She suffered the repercussions of fear and anxiety, sure signs of stress,

Sheryl says Why is there so much abuse happening to so many children??

There are many benefits of writing reported by professional and non professional writers alike,

Lousie De Salvo who wrote Writing as a Way of Healing says that writing saved her life and offered a way of fixing things, of making things better or healing herself.

Alice Walker author of the Color Purple said, It’s really a matter of necessity and that you write to save your life and construct a sturdy kind of ladder out of the pit

Henry Miller, in a letter published in Art and Outrage said, “The more I wrote, the more I became a human being…I was getting the poison out of my system.

Anais Nin, essayist, novelist, and writer of short stories said, “We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect.

In a study by Pennebaker it was discovered writing about traumatic events heals not just the emotions that may cause disease but also the body.

Writing boosts immune function. People who wrote about their deepest thoughts and feelings about a stressful traumatic event had heightened T-lymphocytes in their blood which protects against abnormalities and infection.

Writing decreases the severity of asthma and rheumatoid arthritis. All improved who wrote about stressful events. Writing improves after-care outcomes of heart attack patients. Five months post intervention the writing group had fewer medical appointments and were taking fewer prescription medications than the control group. They reported fewer cardiac related symptoms and had lower diastolic blood pressure

Writing promotes wound healing, In a group with healthy adults ages 64-79 Eleven days after the biopsy 76 percent of the adults in the experimental group had fully healed compared with 42 percent in the control group.

Writing reduces pain in patients with cancer. After writing the findings indicated that those with expressive writing had high emotional disclosure and had significantly lower pain intensity.

The studies based on Pennebaker’s expressive writing model provide scientific evidence to prove expressive writing offers biological benefits to people battling acute or chronic disease. Of course, it doesn’t kill cancer cells or viruses associated with serious illnesses such as Aids. And is not a substitute for psychological and medical treatment but all energetic approaches to release toxins blockages traumas at the cellular level is part of a holistic mind body spirit approach to healing.

Personal qualities or activities would suggest people develop to achieve their vision or goals. Writing is a powerful tool you can use to reduce stress and optimize your health.

Reflective Writing Promotes Insight Reflective writing challenges us to review life experiences by noticing how we have changed, developed or grown from these events. The language associated with reflective writing reveals a shift in understanding of your story, your causes of stress and why you’re tolerating such tension producing experiences.

Causal words, such as cause, effect, reason and “insight” words, like understand, realize know denote a search to find meaning in personal stress or trauma. Reflective journal writing is proven to have a strong connection to support learning. It is used in education, medicine, nursing counseling, coaching and professional development.

In summarizing today’s episode with Diane and Sue we have discovered a very valuable tool for finding ways past pain, trauma and stress and to assess whether an unconscious undercurrent in your life or range of emotions is at play and might lead to physical or mental illness. We have seen that research has found and evaluated ways or tools to help us lessen the pain of serious illnesses like asthma rheumatoid arthritis cancer ways and to reduce stress and heal the body. Diane writes “Research demonstrates that writing helps us organize and integrate the troubling stories that haunt us and identify the emotions that fuel stress and undermine health. Reflecting on and writing about emotional events releases pent up stress and gives people a new perspective on the event. The problems that seemed insurmountable before may be more manageable after seeing them on paper. With the act of writing there is no longer a need to ruminate over the problem, when your understanding increases, your stress levels go down.

Sheryl shares in her new book A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening that the result of writing about present day events and the stories gathered and recorded through twenty years of journaling of coincidences mystical happenings and her awareness that we are spiritual beings having a physical life and we are each much more than we appear to be. A medium told Sheryl years ago as started to awaken to a new perspective of Self and life to journal everything that was happening, as when she looked back at what was written she would see the tremendous progress made and also would have conquered many of her childhood fears as indeed she has. Her books Life Is No Coincidence and The Living Spirit offer tools for self-development and hope for finding happiness, health and peace as we realize more about our divine nature .

Diane Sue and Sheryl would hope you try writing journaling visualization prayer songs being in nature and getting closer in every way to your authentic loving inner being. It takes a small beginning effort and practice to produce tremendous results. Let’s all begin to write our thoughts, evaluate what is positive and purposeful and make our human and divine dreams a reality.

  • The Ancient Wisdom of Sanskrit as a Means to Life Mastery

Welcome to Healing From Within with your host Sheryl Glick author of A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Global Awakening which shows our challenges are not economic, political or societal, just a spiritual disconnect from our true being or soul wisdom. Sheryl is delighted to welcome Sarah Mane author of Conscious Confidence and a Sanskrit scholar as a means to life-mastery and a strong sense of compassion, self-direction, self-empowerment and the life force of self-confidence.

As listeners of “Healing From Within” are well aware, Sheryl’s esteemed guests, authors and seekers of knowing how to best navigate life using metaphysical concepts and tools share intimate experiences and insights so we may know who we are and how to make choices that enhance life and humanity. We often reflect on the past to understand the present and to create a better future.

In today’s episode of Healing From Within, Sarah will show us how we may develop a practical confidence boosting program taken from the deepest meanings of ancient Sanskrit concepts so we may establish a safe reference point to see the world and make clear decisions on how to act, what to say, and how to feel.

When asked to think back to her childhood, Sarah remembers that in the 60s, her parents became interested in the soul and afterlife, and went to group meetings and came home from a lecture and said “We have found the knowledge and wisdom we were looking for.” The energy in the house began to change as her parents read and continued to go to groups that were interested in understanding higher consciousness and soul life, and Sarah began to feel comfortable in those discussions with her parents and to ask questions. Her parents spoke actively with her about things they were reading and about the after soul. Sarah became interested in philosophy and meditation as a result of her parents’ new awareness. Sheryl shares with Sarah that Sarah and she were both sensitive children, intuitive, and meant to pursue a life on the path to finding God or Universal Source, and to be involved in a spiritual pursuit to find truth and how to merge soul and physical life to its best advantage.

Sarah suggests that the roots of Sanskrit words can relate to confidence and success unlocking rich three-dimensional understandings of each word as well as guidance on how to find your path in life. As an example, Sarah looks at the word “Attitude.” The Sanskrit root means “our point of view, our intent, and our conduct.” Of course, a positive Attitude means we have a self-aware point of view, have an intent for the good from which to view the world and shine your light and spiritual gifts into the world advancing the evolution of self and our communities.

Sheryl shares a synchronistic story or coincidence with Sarah. Sheryl tells Sarah that her name “Sheryl” was given to her to represent both of her grandmothers who were named Sarah. Another important connection to the research Sarah has done about Sanskrit, which Sheryl has been also interested in, is expressed in every Reiki 1 Energy Healing Class she presents. Reiki or the ancient healing art of hands-on healing, was rediscovered in the early 1900s from the Japanese Master Teacher Ryoho Usui, who studied Sanskrit in order to discover how Jesus performed spiritual healing and Master Usui was able to as a result of his studies of Sanskrit, develop a modern version of Reiki, which Sheryl practices and teaches as a Reiki Master Teacher.

In Sheryl’s new book A New Life Awaits; Spirit Guided Insights for Global Awakening Sheryl writes, “While some may see that others have more material accouterments, some may have less! I have discovered that attitude is indeed everything and often at a Reiki 1 group read the following poem by Charles Swindoll “Attitude.”

“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do.

The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have and that is our attitude.

I am convinced that life is ten percent what happens to me and ninety percent how I react to it. And so it is with you…we are in charge of our Attitudes.” Sanskrit is the language of the universe and one of the most ancient connections to Universal Source. Sanskrit is the language used by the sages of India to write their poetry, epics and works of profound wisdom and an incomparable tool for delving into the truest knowledge. It is not just a language to be written and spoken, but a pathway to gain understanding of the experience of life, death and truth. The word Sanskrit means purified and perfectly formed. Sanskrit is the language of the universe and the wise say when all the noise and distractions fall back and the still small voice is heard in our hearts, the language it speaks is pure and perfectly formed. As a rule, Sanskrit words and even nouns come from a verbal root. A verb is an action word, it is energy: something is happening. Sanskrit words therefore are related to some form of energy or action. Sanskrit is one of the root languages in the extensive Indo- European linguistic family. The family of languages includes Hindi Gujarati but also Latin, Greek, German, French, Italian and English. Scholars consider Sanskrit to be “a mother of languages.”

Sanskrit helps us to discover that we are limitless, magnificent universal beings who embody the force and energy of the universe. There is no difference between our energy and the energy of the universe: they are one and the same. All the wisdom traditions tell us this simple truth.

Sheryl says she was fortunate to have an experience which made that premise a reality and truth beyond anything else she had ever known. For her to really accept that premise, she needed a consequential, experiential personal experience which happened 25 years ago, when Sheryl was sick with the flu in a sort of delirious state. While in this state between sleep and wakefulness, Sheryl became aware that her grandfather paid her a spiritual visit and let her know she had to write something for her father. Sheryl was confused by the message. The very next day she received a call that her father had passed and proceeded to write his eulogy. That event triggered a need for her to learn more about who we are and what happens after leaving this physical life. Sheryl also wanted to learn how Consciousness survived physical death and how mediums communicate with souls of energy. In the process discovered she had always been listening to the inspiration of her thoughts, unaware they were guidance from the universe, and she was indeed a medium. After this event with her grandfather, Sheryl began a long journey to discover more about spiritual communication, the afterlife, and the reasons souls choose a physical life.

Sanskrit is the practical relevance for today’s unmanageable and traumatizing world. The timeless wisdom of Sanskrit emphasizes the simple truth that we are universal. While ordinary experiences may be one of the limitations throughout time, all of the wisdom teachings have shown us that the limits we feel are of the ego, imagined and superimposed on the limitless universal self by the outside physical world.

One aspect of these changing times that needs to reevaluate how Sanskrit can help us use the traditions of the past which in their time, provided certainty, confidence and consistency and had a stabilizing function in life, is now running out of energy and momentum. Today’s relevance, technology, transport and medicine, while making improvements in living, are changing rapidly and there is a lack of faith in our institutions and ourselves is causing us to question how to go forward. While these shifts are normal, they can also be uncomfortable. Change can be exciting, but insecurity, doubt and fear can surface.

When we begin to ask the following questions, we develop confidence to follow our hearts true needs:

    How can I find happiness?
Do I have enough confidence in myself to follow my heart’s desire?
    Where can I find peace?
How can I fit everything into a busy day and busy life?
What can I do to de-stress?
How can I succeed and still be myself?
What is truly important to me?
How can I balance my own needs and the needs of others?
How can I find the confidence in myself to embrace new interesting opportunities?
How do I trust and believe in myself?

When asked to share some of the most important and memorable things Sarah learned from her spiritual teachers, she shares the following story. “There is a story of a young man Nachiketas and the Lord Yama. Nachiketas’ father, hoping to get to heaven, presented many gifts to the priests but always kept the best for himself and his son realized that was not right. So the boy said, “Father have you also given me away to the gods?” The father getting angry said “I give you to the Lord of Death, God Yama,” and the boy said” All things in this world are temporary, I have no fear. I want to know what lies beyond this experience of life.” The father didn’t want his son to go to the realm of Death and realized he had misspoken. Nachiketas, believing in the principle that a man’s word is his bond, realized that following the path of truth was the only way to heaven. And so honoring his fathers word, crossed his arm, bowed to his unhappy father and left.

Arriving at Lord Yama’s home, he was greeted with great respect and Lord Yama said “I will grant you three special gifts of your choosing.” The first was to reconcile with his father. The second was to know how to reach the realm of heaven, where there is no sorrow, fear, old age or death. Lord Yama told him there was a Fire within the heart of every person, that leads to heaven. This is where one is free from fear, sorrow, old age and death. The Fire is three -fold, composed of knowledge, meditation and practice. Knowing all these things are temporary, the young man asked again “My choice of gifts is unchanged. What happens to a soul when the body is left behind?”

Lord Yama laid out two diverging paths. One is the path of Ignorance, which those of limited vision delight in following. It is paved with fleeting pleasures, petty victories and meaningless feats. The other path is the path of Timeless Wisdom, where the seeker of truth acquires knowledge of the in-dwelling, all knowing Self, and finally attains a place of strength, a place of peace, a place of confidence, and a place of fulfillment. This story was about a young boy who was intent on learning timeless wisdom and would not accept anything else.

Sarah shares her take on meditation, self-awareness and mindfulness. Meditation is a tool that allows one to become familiar and comfortable with the inner wisdom of the soul, allowing for self-awareness and a higher sense of self or higher consciousness to flourish. By going back to the unchanging wisdom in Sanskrit, we can redefine, clarify and realize a purer, more powerful meaning for what is valuable in the life experience, such as attitudes and confidence.

Sarah writes, “Meditation is food for the spiritual body, along with prayer and keeping company with the words of the wise. Deep stillness in meditation, a peaceful walk in a beautiful place is quiet contemplation of natural beauty gazing at the stars, remaining still in the present moment and letting go of past and future narratives, all these are restful for the emotional body. Engaging in the creative arts such as making beautiful music art or dance are other excellent ways to exercise the emotional body. All of these activities will help you feel a sense of connection, peace and freedom.”

Sarah shares some of the key spiritual principles that she applied in her teaching career. She refers to the ancient and timeless wisdom traditions of East and West which have provided humanity with an unbroken thread of connection to consciousness throughout the millennia. It is a thread of wisdom and knowledge and the purpose of this wisdom is to provide source wisdom, so people may realize the truth of themselves as spiritual beings, having a physical life through the power of their energetic thoughts and actions, creating or manifesting their lives through either love or through their fears.

When we consciously choose to try something new to increase our awareness and improve our well being, we can be sure that our experience will change. The most important thing is to start practicing each day meditation, self-awareness, and mindfulness.

Our most valuable equipment to work with as we seek to attain timeless wisdom is our faculties, our energy, or capacity to apply intelligence and effort. We have a physical body which moves us through the world and is always anchored in the present moment. Therefore, we have a vast, powerful inner tool of intuition within our heart and mind, anchored to Universal Source or that of creation.

In the Sanskrit wisdom tradition, there are four aspects to the mind and heart:

Manas the Thinking Mind aka “The Monkey Mind”
    Buddhi The Intellect or Intelligence
Chitta Deep Memory aka the Heart
Aham the Limitless Sense of Existence or Ahamkara the Limited Sense of Existence
Aham is a sense of feeling of existence. This is the limitless feeling of self-awareness that we are here now. “I Am” It’s a pure and simple feeling. The feeling of existence is utterly present and yet deeply peaceful and satisfying. It encompasses everything, it is one and undivided. It is the feeling of existence that unites us all.

In Sheryl’s book A New Life Awaits, she explains the four aspects of the mind and heart often, and writes,” The title of my new book, A New Life Awaits, shares the truth known by many people who have felt that moment of complete awareness within them, when this driving forceful energy, known as Spirit, awakens them and they learn decisively to love life, which is the ultimate gift from Spirit and which offers to each soul the chance for greater compassion for themselves and others. Of course, I didn’t need to voice these understandings to these hospice patients, for I hoped that my smile of reassurance would be enough to quiet fears about the unknown, often mysterious experiences they were going through. I was trained not to voice my personal beliefs when sitting with patients. However, through my many life experiences and heightened soul energy, I could be telepathically sharing my beliefs from within the “soul-light force” that simply cannot be contained. This energy from Spirit or our interconnectedness to eternal life cannot be expressed easily in words. This energy might be represented by one’s confidence or natural part of their physical, emotional, and spiritual presence. It cannot be forced or faked, and because it is authentic, it is undeniably the truth.”

In Sarah’s executive coaching work, she shares the main issues that she finds people need help with.” It might be the ability to know yourself, your goals and dreams, from within, and to be able to forgive, be grateful, or simply to feel good about yourself, as we live in a competitive and unforgiving world based on ego and materialistic needs often forgetting who we are and how important it is to remember that you are indeed more than your physical life and capable of great feats of courage, love and honor.”

Sarah has a quote in her book from Shakespeare that Sheryl likes: “This is a strange repose, to be asleep With eyes wide open, standing speaking moving And yet so fast asleep.” William Shakespeare (The Tempest Act 2 Scene 1)

What people need is to find confidence. Confidence is having inner strength, self-assurance, self-esteem, and resilience. There is a type of confidence that comes from habit and familiarity. Confidence built on repetition so we develop skills and know-how. However, familiarity, routine and habit encourage minimal attention to the present, and these are the conditions for becoming unconscious which we knowingly want to avoid.

We can and must develop Conscious Confidence: confidence based in recognizing the opportunities inherent in the situations we find ourselves in and also recognizing the strength and power we possess.

Sheryl explains why it seems so hard these days for young people to transition into adulthood. Sheryl says “Many children today have been either raised by Helicopter parents who do not allow them to make decisions or choices on their own, as they fear the changing world and tide of despair. Other parents are simply overwhelmed by the pressures of surviving economically, physically and socially in a world that can bring them down in a flash…look at the worldwide coronavirus pandemic that they are unable to attend to much more than the physical needs of their children and many times not even that. Children are growing up emotionally and spiritually deficient, and as a result often sad and even depressed. We need to return to a simpler life, with more family involvement and more care for ourselves and others, if there is not to be a total pandemic beyond that of physical disease. Fear must be conquered and trust, in perhaps, a bigger universal plan of love, once again remembered in the heart.

The concept of Conscious Confidence can help with this transitional point in a young person’s life. Having Conscious Confidence means being awake to and aware of the truth of any situation. It means to be free, connected and in touch. You have faith in yourself and trust that everything you need to act effectively is available to you in the present moment. You can see potential and opportunities for success. It is a firm foundation for action.

Unconscious Confidence in opposition to that causes the following behaviors:

Brash: Egotistical Look at me. Does all the talking and is unable to listen
Reckless: Gambling Bravado stupidity frat boy behavior
Baseless: Ignorant Convinced that you know something even when you don’t
Impulsive: Acting without proper consideration taking action before the situation is clear

Sarah would like readers to take away with them after reading her book Conscious Confidence to “recognize a Conscious Confident person. They are quietly spoken and never force themselves on situations. Always cheerful and greets anyone known or unknown, and with a wide smile and warm hearted greeting making no distinction about the people he meets. They all are met with the same love, care, and attention. They are intelligent, efficient, and skilled in many ways, both practical and intellectual. Always full of service; providing anything that is needed no matter how simple. They respect all people and are deeply respected by all who know them. Respond to situations both public and private with the same lightness of touch, openness and intelligence. Demonstrates a strong sense of spirituality and is truly gentle and fine.”

Sheryl calls us Conscientious Citizens of the Universe. People with an awareness of the bigger picture…they are spiritual beings and physical and merge the love, truth and goodness of Creation.

Sheryl would like to thank Sarah Manes, author of Conscious Confidence for sharing the language of Enlightenment which is truly unique among all the languages of the world and offering a practical confidence boosting program derived from the deepest meanings of Sanskrit concepts which is so needed in these challenging modern times.

In summarizing today’s episode of Healing From Within, we have outlined principles for harnessing the fourfold energies of Conscious Confidence as a means for discovering a steady inner or soul source of compassion, self-direction, self-empowerment and the life force of self-confidence. We have found that Sanskrit offers timeless wisdom that we may access to transform our thoughts and actions to build confidence, certainty, clarity and success. This method, like all spiritual practices and states of Higher Consciousness, allows us to conquer the growing anxiety and fear from lifetime or childhood trauma to a core of selfhood for knowing our divine potential rather than relying on the ever-changing outside world. This awareness is truly Healing From Within.

Sarah and Sheryl would have you move past the fears and reality of a physical world regaining a sense of your personal intuitive and energetic soul power and smile from within, through any challenge and by doing that, create a healthy personal reality and a world of hope beyond these troubled times. The answers to a good fulfilling life are within, and within reach, if we only pay attention to that quiet voice that tells us we are love in action.

  • What is Reality

Welcome to Healing From Within with your host Sheryl Glick author of the final book in a trilogy A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening which suggests that by observing our inner soul energy and merging that with the challenges of the physical world, we can achieve a peaceful purposeful and healthy life beyond the present challenges of political economic and societal issues, to return to our natural soul state of being, which is eternal and joyful. Sheryl is delighted to welcome Gayle Kimball PhD the Nautilus award winning author of 20 books including Essential Energy Tools and today we will discuss her new trilogy of books Mysteries of Healing Reality and Knowledge Beyond the Senses.

As listeners of Healing From Within Sheryl and her guests share intimate stories and insights into the metaphysical world of energy in an effort to understand Who we are?, Where we come? from and how to improve our time in the physical world as we transcend challenges fears and remember the capacity we have to create with our thoughts and actions a world that shines brightly with hope compassion and for the evolution of soul and human life.

In today’s episode of Healing From Within we will explore with Dr. Gayle Kimball through her informative trilogy which offers personal reflections and insights from many of the leading figures in the modern scientific community who as are those throughout the world finally awakening to a deeper understanding of consciousness the brain-mind connection and the ultimate healing force of our free will.

When Sheryl asks Gayle to think back to her earliest beginnings her childhood and remember a person place or event that may have shown them or others the lifestyle values and interests they might pursue as an adult she immediately reflects on her mother who discussed and took her to a scientific healing community which allowed her the freedom to use her imagination and thoughts to explore openly the world of spiritual energy.

Gayle tells us how this trilogy came to be and how it may offer a clear understanding of the nature of human and spiritual connections.

Dr. Kimball writes, “Many of our scientific beliefs are limited in that they can’t account for the evidence that consciousness exists beyond the brain. The dominant materialist paradigm denies the power of spirit, the miracles of mind and feelings over matter, unconscious access to information, and the possibility of other dimensions beyond what our physical senses tell us—including life after death. The dominant worldview is like the Flatland novel published in 1884 about a two-dimensional world. When the hero first discovers a three-dimensional place, he is only able to see a flat circle. When he sees more and reports back on his discovery, he’s persecuted. It’s also like the story of the Emperor’s New Clothes where the crowd applauds the lie that the naked emperor is wearing beautiful new robes until a small boy has the courage to speak the truth. The dominant worldview often ridicules those with the vision to see other dimensions beyond Flatland, while visionary scientists see the denial of anything but the physical as dogma that ignores extensive research and inhibits our access to subtle information. Courageous scientists, physicians, and psychologists are creating consciousness.

This trilogy Mysteries of Healing Reality Knowledge Beyond the Senses explores the scientist’s life stories and their influences on their beliefs and personal courage, along with their understandings of our purpose as humans and how the universe really works.”

Dr. Kimball shares the amazing insights of 65 metaphysical experts and says she could identify with what Larry Dossey pointed out; “It takes a rabble-rouser to actually develop the courage” to take on the establishment. He added that most peer-reviewed medical journals won’t touch a person on topics like the efficacy of prayer in healing. Like these visionary scientists, curiosity and truth-telling motivate me to point out that the Emperor is naked, there are multiple dimensions and we have access to information and guidance from beyond the physical senses and on their beliefs and personal courage, along with their understandings of our purpose as humans and how the universe really works.

The scientists are often spiritual rather than religious, and many went through an adolescent rebellion against religious dogma. More of them have a Jewish background than would be predicted by the small percentage of Jews in the world population. Jeffrey Mishlove interviewed over a thousand visionary scientists for his video show “New Thinking Allowed.” He reported, “I’ve discovered that quite a number of prominent people in parapsychology have a Jewish background. Jews are a tiny minority but Jewish people are prominent in every cutting edge activity in which I’ve ever been involved. I would say 95% of the people who explore these areas scientifically do so because like me, they have had powerful personal experiences. The other 5 to 10% do it out of intellectual curiosity.”

Sheryl as a Reiki Master Energy Teacher and medium states that as a Jew her family didn’t have an interest in the Kabballah or the ancient mystical Essene group of healers and visionaries who believed in the After Life angels and many dimensions of life beyond. long Sheryl as a sensitive child sensed there was so much more to life and beyond, though the grown-ups in her life seemed only to be interested in the physical world and what could be seen and appreciated materially. At a young age she saw that the answers she was seeking were not in the religious structured practices of a group. Sheryl has found her spiritual path and ability to connect to Universal Source through meditation and consistent effort to pay attention and try to serve the good of all. She has experienced remote viewing spiritual communication using the energy of the Universe in her healing practice and as directed by Spirit has written a trilogy of books. Finding God is a personal journey and understanding our soul energetic life force is experienced personally as well.

Les Lancaster explained, “the combination of the value placed on learning, the leanings towards mysticism, the eschatological idea of promoting a golden age to come, and the pressures of being in exile was hugely formative for Jews entering the modern era. This is a potent mix that breeds pioneers.

We live now in the most challenging times but can apply mental and physical tools to stay centered and calm. Meditation music walking and being in nature finding people who resonate in a higher vibrational energy which simply means they have conquered many of the lower emotions of greed jealousy anger hatred and wish to emit their knowledge and joy in life to others and to serve the highest good of all. By being aware of your immense soul energy and eternal life force we are able to reach greater awareness of the best values within ourselves and rely on our inner wisdom, not the outside world to define our needs and goals.

Although researchers like Dean Radin* report on thousands of double-blind studies with results in some cases trillions of times beyond what you would expect by chance the findings are often dismissed as pseudoscience or “woo-woo.” Radin suggests, “What is needed for a new paradigm is a more comprehensive model of reality where consciousness becomes just as fundamental, if not more so, than materialism or the pull of outside world influences.

Idealism is very old describing the belief that reality is mentally constructed. Ancient Greek philosophers, such as Anaxagoras in 480 BCE, emphasized the primacy of “mind and consciousness” although his contemporary Plato’s idea of ideal forms is better known. Ancient Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism also recognized that the material world is maya, illusion, and through meditation, sages develop psi abilities called siddhis, such as clairvoyance or bilocation. More modern siddhis are described in Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramhansa Yogananda. The Bible is full of references to healing, prophecy, prayer, and what Paul calls “gifts of the Holy (Mysteries of Healing page

Having a definition of consciousness and seeking a clearer understanding of “being” pave the way for a more relaxed and enjoyable life experience! Courageous scientists, physicians, and psychologists are creating a new non-materialist scientific paradigm as they struggle to define consciousness. Professor Chris Roe explained, “We don’t have the remotest idea of what we mean by consciousness, ”but“working on the fringes of the anomalies starts to give us answers.” He has the courage to put his head “above the parapet and say the evidence is quite strong,” so he has moved from trying to prove “psi” to researching the process of how it works. “Psi” refers to anomalous extraordinary experiences.

Shamini Jain defines consciousness as the “source and substrate of creation. It is beyond mind, emotion and the physical. It’s what gives rise to the physical.” A useful book is Conscious: A Brief Guide to the Fundamental Mysteries of the Mind by Annaka Harris. The visionary scientists say consciousness doesn’t originate in the brain and they use synonyms like “One Mind, spirit, energy, the Force, matrix, hologram, meaning fields, biofield, cosmic intelligence, information, pan psychism, beyond space and time, substrate, non-physical web, spiritual computer, and fifth dimension.” Its basic language is mathematics and patterns like fractals. This understanding implies there is another dimension beyond space and time, which may enable psi phenomena like clairvoyance, precognition, and distant healing.

Sheryl says as a sensitive but skeptic for most of her earlier life she uses clairvoyance precognition and distant healing and is a Reiki Master Energy Teacher and medium who accesses this connection to higher creative eternal intelligent life force or what is described here as consciousness. In her beginning work, development and practice, the words time and space kept repeating itself to her, she believes it was so she could finally accept the eternal nature of soul life. And to raise her vibration to higher awareness and higher consciousness so she could use her talents to help others especially during the challenging times our nation and world are experiencing now. There is no past present future. All of our experiences are happening simultaneously and we can in dreams or outer body situations be in different dimensions of our life. It is like when a person has a near death experience and is able to tell you of what was going on during the event when he or she was in between worlds and not in their physical body .

Many spiritual leaders talk of a deeper understanding of consciousness, the brain mind connection and the ultimate healing force of our free will. These intertwined thoughts are a process towards self -realization.

Sheryl has discovered that quite simply the brain is the connection to our physical reality and needs, while the Mind or “Super Mind” is the connection to Universal Source or intelligence the divine or God and higher consciousness where our soul energy resides even when we are having a physical life.

What then is reality? Is there more than what we can know from our fives senses? How does healing occur? These questions are all intertwined into an understanding of who we are as spiritual beings having a phyiscal life perhaps projected by our energetic thoughts. We have come to know our powerful thoughts words and actions can create our reality, and by learning to monitor or direct positive thoughts over negativity, can improve life immensely. Manifesting is not a magical concept but a reality if we can master our energetic thoughts and know ourselves and others as the magnificent potential of the creative force.

Reality is not what we think it is-that’s what I learned from the visionary scientists. Common sense erroneously tells us that we live in a solid material world, that atoms are like billiard balls with definite locations, and time is a one-directional arrow. This is all false. Physicist Max Planck said in 1931, “I have spent my entire life studying atoms and molecules and I’m here to tell you that they don’t exist.” He explained in his book The New Science that there is no matter as such because atoms vibrate, and are held together by a force that indicates a “conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter,” thus, matter is derived from consciousness. The materialist belief is that all information comes from the physical senses via the brain, although many people experience ESP, telepathy, a precognitive dream or intuition, awareness of being stared at, or a dramatic near-death experience (NDE) that reveals other dimensions of life, as it did for neurosurgeon Eben Alexander during his near death experience due to meningitis. Animals also have these abilities, as evidenced in Rupert Sheldrake’s research on dogs that are aware of when their person will come home, even at an unexpected time.

Often to be a change maker or visionary we might encounter friction, doubt, even violent negativity due to fear or ignorance. In exploring the personal background of the scientists formulating this non-materialistic paradigm that expands human potential we find out they possess great courage. They are courageous because in many ways the truth has been proven to them, whether in information received through dreams, meditation, a near death experience, or other mystical events. Once you live in this reality and state of awareness there is no turning back, and there is such joy in the knowledge of Consciousness surviving physical death, that no one could make a believer stop true knowingness.

There is indeed as all these seekers find, other dimensions or a world of energy and life that allows for extraordinary abilities, and these people who explore the nature of divine life are aware of this force of creative eternal life often, interacting on a very intimate and personal level with life forces that exist beyond this physical plane and life. Call it the creative force, Universal Energy or Universal Source God, the divine, guides teachers’ higher vibrational beings, angels, souls of people who you knew In this time and place or elsewhere, but it is all one and the same.

Psychic remote viewers led by Russell Targ* in the Star Gate government programs during the Cold War sketched secret Soviet missile silos, a huge new secret Soviet submarine, the location of a downed Russian military plane before it was discovered by the Soviets in North Africa, and drew targets before they were even selected. The remote viewers were only given numbers with no hint about the target, paid attention to their perceptions, and drew pictures of the target while in their offices. Stephan Schwartz worked with remote viewers to discover archeological places such as Cleopatra’s Palace and the Lighthouse of Pharos—one of the seven wonders of the ancient world—as well as sunken ships and a lost Mayan temple. Working in the military as a remote viewer, Paul H. Smith* found the location of drug contraband in a huge container ship while working in his office and suggests that remote viewers also could be used in therapy to explore the roots of psycho-logical problems. Medical intuitive Caroline Myss’ well-known work with Dr. Norm Shealy in his medical practice can be considered a form of remote viewing of a stranger’s body.

It follows from materialism that death ends our awareness, but rigorous triple-blind experiments with mediums who accurately communicate with disembodied spirits are conducted by Ph.D.s Julie Beischel* (Windbridge Institute), Gary Schwartz (University of Arizona), Chris Roe (University of Northampton), and others. Over 2,500 well-documented cases of children who remember their past lives were collected by Ian Stevenson and Ed Kellyat the University of Virginia. The children shared facts descriptions and knowledge that could be substantiated about people and places they talked about and there was not way they could have been privy to any of the information.

Sheryl tells Gayle that at a workshop years ago with Stephan Schwartz the group engaged in a remote viewing exercise. An object was taken by two people and we had to get information on the place where they went….Sheryl in meditation was able to see that it was in a place with a circular driveway and a doorway with a sign above that read “Enter At Your Own Risk” and inside was a chapel with rounded seating, and people were singing so Sheryl concluded it was a temple or church and indeed, It turned out I was correct. As an empathic intuitive medium Sheryl helps people rediscover their soul energy and life plan by doing readings with Spirit so they can confirm they are on the right life path and can feel confident about necessary choices and actions. Sheryl also helps people remember they are soul beings having a physical life at the moment and if they get in touch with their inner intuitive thoughts, they can create a healthier happier life experience.

The old paradigm which is falling away now, values logic and analytical thinking but is uncomfortable with emotions and the content of the unconscious, while the multi-dimensional approach includes what intuition and dreams reveal from the deeper mind. Larry Burk writes about people who accurately diagnose their own diseases, such as cancer, by paying attention to their dreams. Getting their doctors to pay attention to these dreams was often problematic, or actually led to death that perhaps could have been avoided if the dream diagnosis was taken seriously.

Sheryl says that she often have coincidences and connections to my esteemed guests and in regard to that paragraph have interviewed Larry Burke’s co-author Kathleen O’Keefe Kanavos who actually had cancer and keep going to doctors until they located it and saved her life. As Sheryl said before she did remote viewing with Stephan Schwartz and works somewhat in the style of Edgar Cayce a healer and prophet who died in 1945 also mentioned by Gayle. Like Cayce in meditation she receives messages from Spirit to offer helpful healing of soul needs, not always of the body . Sheryl who has great respect for Edgar Cayce mentioned in this book she has met Edgar Cayce’s grandson and had a soul reading based on Cayce’s thousands of readings put into computerized messages and still used to offer the wisdom of Universal Source to those who require it. It was right on target for what she needed answered and very helpful.

We go on to have some real super synchronicity here, Gayle writes, “It’s helpful to learn to pay attention to seemingly unrelated synchronistic events, especially what Gary Schwartz* calls “super synchronicity” when we experience six or more related events. They suggest that some form of helpful guidance exists and that we can learn how to access it more deliberately. Sheryl has also met Gary Schwartz.

Gail goes on to mention visionary psychoanalyst Carl Jung who developed the concept of synchronicity when his patient was describing a dream about a scarab beetle as a similar beetle appeared on the window. Dawson Church gives many more examples in his chapter on synchronicity in his book Mind to Matter: The Astonishing Science of How Your Brain Creates Material Reality is a meaningful coincidence of two or more events, where something other than the probability of chance is involved.

As we grow on a spiritual path, it happens more often, suggesting a subtle intelligence at play. As Dean Radin states, “Materialism entails a certain set of assumptions that are perfectly in tune for understanding the physical world. But those assumptions (as we understand them today) cannot easily account for all aspects of reality, especially consciousness and psychic phenomena.”

Readers of this trilogy of Mysteries of Reality Healing and Knowledge Beyond the Senses might want to take away with them after reading your books that perhaps remembering the Greek letter from so long ago that allows an understanding and acceptance of things beyond our senses a higher type of conscious and energy being that is eternal and works quite differently than than the phyiscal world. Psi: A Greek letter used to refer to anomalous experiences, parapsychology and the paranormal. Dean Radin’s list of psi categories is: Healing at a Distance, Mind-Matter Interaction (PK or psychokinesis), Physiological Correlations at a Distance, Precognition & Presentiment, Survival of Consciousness after Death, and Telepathy and ESP.

The power of the mind or connection to higher Source or creative force, unlike the brain which relates to the physical world and a temporary life, is the connection to the intelligence and guidance of the Collective Consciousness.

We thank Dr. Gayle Kimball author of the trilogy Mysteries of Healing Realities and Knowledge Beyond the Senses for sharing a lifetime pursuit of finding out Who we are? Where we come from? and how to use the energy of our inner soul essence to further advance the spiritual scientific revolution or evolution we are now fully involved in. To change our world, we must first change ourselves by first recognizing that our thoughts are creating our reality and we must take responsibility, personally and collectively to engage worthy thoughts and activities and learn be at peace with life itself.

In summarizing today’s episode of Healing From Within Sheryl has been delighted to revisit many of the scientists healers and visionaries who she has either met or interviewed over the last twenty five years and as we know from Sheryl’s first book in the trilogy: Life is No Coincidence The Life and Afterlife Connection she considers all who have awakened to the greatest truth of reality consciousness energy healing and the infinite wisdom of a loving expanding evolving Universal source of intelligence and infinite life are truly blessed to know who they are and to walk this time in this physical life without fear of death seeking hope joy positivity, and to serve and lead, with integrity and courage. Gayle Kimball author of a trilogy of Mysteries of Reality Healing and Knowledge Beyond the Senses has travelled the same road and concluded beyond the shadow of a doubt that so much exists beyond the phyiscal world and life.

Gayle writes, “The three books in the Mysteries Trilogy explore how consciousness shapes reality, enables healing and provides access to knowledge from beyond the physical senses. These trailblazing scientists conclude that we are more than our physical bodies with more potential than we realize and that science needs to expand to account for consciousness. The new science embraces all of science, but it’s reframing it to have a bigger perspective. This means that we can make sense of data that doesn’t fit and we can make new predictions that can be tested, confirmed, or disconfirmed. It’s an expansion of science that reverses and changes the way you experience what you know,” explained Gary Schwartz. He added, “This perspective turns everything on its head. It’s like realizing that the sun no longer revolves around the earth” and encourages reuniting science and spirituality (as discussed in Edward Kelly et al.’ Beyond Physicalism: Toward Reconciliation of Science and Spirituality). The scientists are concerned that the prevailing materialist paradigm limits our abilities and has devastating consequences, including polluting our planet. As youth climate activists say, there is no planet B.”

Gayle and Sheryl would have listeners know that in search of truth one finds an enormous amount of free will, freedom, peace, love, and the path to really enjoy relationships, nature, and the spiritual aspects of ourselves, for in actuality, that is all one and we are energy swirling through endless time and space. No past present or future, just the eternal life force of creation and it is a wonderful life.

  • A New Life Awaits

Welcome to “Healing From Within with your host Sheryl Glick Reiki Master and medium and have just released the newest book in the trilogy A New Life Awaits Spirit Guide Insights to Support Global Awakening which shares a higher awareness of our true soul nature and human qualities that are the basis of all our choices and our destiny as we learn more about who we are and how we have the personal power to transcend emotions and challenges to achieve peace and well being. In other words, we are much more than we appear to be and learning that is the key to opening our heart and mind to infinite possibilities for happiness here and beyond. I am most delighted to welcome David Karchere, author of an International Best Seller book Become the Sun that offers ways to find emotional and spiritual intelligence for a happy fulfilling life.

As listeners of “Healing From Within” are aware, my guests and I share intimate insights into the true nature of our energetic or soul essence so we may learn how to create thoughts, behaviors and lifestyles that bring about well- being and a higher awareness of the duality of energetic and physical life challenges. In knowing who we are, we are better equipped to make choices that support health prosperity and a calmer, more balanced view of self and those we interact with in our communities for more positive action and success.

In today’s episode of Healing From Within David Karchere author and motivational speaker and a member of the Evolutionary Leaders Circle as well as originating the Healing Chant Workshop will share ways for individuals to become a sun and create a new world by sharing the radiance of grace, the warmth of blessing and the gravity of courage from within their soul essence out into the world.

When David thinks back to his childhood and remembers a person, place or event we find out that David was a sensitive child and student and a sensitive kid in High School watching the decline of society with drugs, political marches and the Vietnam war and hoped to be part of a community of people who create a better world. You were already a sun soul born to help others to awaken to the love and personal power that resided in them but had to remember who they were ultimately in order to be able to change any negative thinking or restrictions to their passionate and positive energy that awakened him fully to the truth of Being and wrote, “Verbal descriptions of spiritual experiences cannot capture the wonder of them. I have no words large enough or rich enough to communicate the vision that came to me. It was not a physical vision. But, nonetheless it was as lucid and as real as anything I have seen with my physical eyes. The best description I have for it is that it was of a heavenly court. Not angels exactly as we think of them. But heavenly Beings with light emanating from them and all around. And in the midst of them all, there was a Being of the most exquisite overwhelming love. …..I was in awe. When the session concluded I stumbled out the side door that led directly outside. I got far enough away from everyone else, walked into a stand of small trees and shrubs, and sobbed.”

Sheryl says she has had many such mystical happenings but would like to share with David that one evening during a meditation group of Reiki students that I was leading I sensed Jesus at my side and he was crying so I began to cry also and he said to me. You and your group cry for the many injustices in the world as I did and are doing the work I did. Sheryl says she felt so moved to receive a spiritual visitation from this holy spiritual teacher and knows that we all are guided by loved ones from these higher realms of life and need only to have faith and trust that we can make differences in our own lives and in the community as we simply become more aware of our spiritual potential to help us live our best life and to grow and expand in higher thoughts and actions.

David tells us what it means to become a sun David writes, It is our personal and collective destiny to become a sun—to become on the outside what we already are on the inside: a conscious presence of Universal Love. This destiny is behind everything we experience as human beings, however we interpret it—every passion, every adventure, every challenge, even what might look like terrible setbacks in our life. Through it all, the core of who we are as a being of Universal Love is shucking off the unnatural limitations that we, as human beings, tend to accept for ourselves. That core within us seeks to shine freely through us, as us, into the world.

David’s premise is this: The difference between a joyful fulfilling life and an unhappy unfilled life is conscious awareness and understanding. When people understand that their personal destiny is to become the sun and they understand the process by which that becomes a reality they embrace the experience.

The Warmth of Blessing What your world and the people in it, need most from you is for you to be a sun. When faced with the coldness of other people or the coldness of the world, return that coldness with your warmth. Just the abiding spirit of love constant in your heart of hearts. Let your world feel the warmth of the sun through you. Copernicus discovered that the Sun, not the Earth, is the center of our solar system. People are in your world of awareness. You are the sun for them and they are orbiting in your solar system. You are a sun for your own capacities, your warmth light your gravity. In the radiance of the sun who you are, your body, mind and emotional realm thrive. When a person becomes aware that they are a sun, they realize they have a choice. They do not have to be a slave to their own reaction to their creative field. They don’t have to alter their radiance based on what other people say or do. They don’t have to alter their radiance based on how they feel. The sun can always shine. And we can look at the captions below to see how we might begin to think of the connectedness of these thoughts could lead us to reflecting the soul light from within out into the world.

    The Atmosphere of Understanding
    The Bursts of Action
    The Fusion of Fulfilling Mission
    The Rays of Enlightened Thought
    The Gravity of Courage
The Radiance and Reflections of Grace

Emotional intelligence may or may not develop as we age. Being conscious is composed of both thought and feeling. David has set forth a mental model of consciousness or emotional intelligence and a map for intuitive understanding of the emotional elements of consciousness. So the book is meant to be understood at the level of emotion and intuition as well as the level of the mind.

There is mathematics to all of Creation Mathematical patterns that replicate throughout the universe from the atom to the stars—and human beings are no exception. The brilliant design of Creation begins with the One. In the creation of sound melody harmony and rhythm is generated. All colors of light are found in white light. Seeing this unfolding pattern of creation helps you to bring the atmosphere of understanding to every circumstance of your light.

Your Being begins in oneness. It begins in pure unitary awareness. This is the sun’s nature that is you at your core. But you were not content to be just this one thing. You, as unitary awareness, are activating the deep of your Being, which is the unformed substance of creation. These are the deep waters of your being. This process is occurring all the time at every level, from each and every cell to all your organs and glands and beyond. So you are two—pure unitary awareness and the deep of your Being that is activated by that awareness. And still these two things are aspects of the one reality of you.

Sheryl says that much like the duality of life, our spiritual soul energetic essence and the physical life created by that reality. But they are not really separate and when merged and working together we can experience our best physical and spiritual life growth.

David speaks of the dark cloud hanging over humanity. When there is a dark cloud hanging over human experience—when the atmosphere surrounding a person or group of people carries negative energy it doesn’t bode well for the future. Certainly, the body of humanity is living in a negative energy field fed by the words and actions of people and unwholesome spirits—the spirits of hate and fear. This is the negative side of our collective karma. Most people are in touch with this cloud without even knowing it and it has affected their thinking. There are people around the world celebrating the reality of a different cloud of energy. There is the legacy of our spiritual ancestors—men and women of true integrity down through the ages who have refused to live out of the human energy field as it has been. There have been people in every generation who have said, “No, I, going to make a different choice in my life. “ I’m going to generate a cloud that carries the positive creative energy which is the most real thing about me. Living out of that cloud brings something glorious in living something that brings fulfilment…..You might say that discovering this cloud reveals the qualities the ancients wrote about now referred to as glory—brilliance, splendor, magnificence, and majesty.

You might say that this is the biggest challenge—a human being can have—the work of finding a way to let the unseen and the unheard that is at their core be seen and heard. It is seen through this cloud of light and glory.

Sheryl says that it is the finding of your soul and the infinite potential of the Universal Spirit that you understand the truth of Being and eternal life and free yourself from many false illusions and beliefs that hold you in that dark cloud of fear and limitation.

In Sheryl’s new book A New Life Awaits:Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening she addresses the many issues of how to find the way to understanding energy and life in its complete unity of soul body and mind and writes, ”Whether in a body or in pure energy, the soul is the essence and complete oneness of Spirit’s Intelligence and Universal Love and travels with us through time and space, lifetime after lifetime, as we gather experiences to refine our already magnificent soul. Death, in my opinion, is merely the next destination or adventure in our continuous circle of life. There really is no death, only the unfolding of the infinite layers of realities that exist within us, in this world, and beyond. These layers are filled with the excitement and wonderment of the beauty of nature, friendship, memories, and experiences gathered during many lifetimes. We must know that energy cannot be destroyed, so the energy of our thoughts and heart impulses must return to the place most people think of as Heaven, but is really simply the evolving expansion of creative life energy that is eternal. Whether in life or whether in Heaven, we are continually growing in our ability to gather love and compassion and to conquer any fear or darkness that might reside in our energy.”

David speaks about “The Atmosphere of Understanding” in the second chapter of the book. What is it and why is it important?

You live in the center of the field of consciousness, mostly your own. There are also other people. Then there is a divine consciousness and presence that fills your creative field. Most importantly for you, your presence fills your creative field. It pervades your body, your thoughts and your feelings. It touches and surrounds the people in your world. It holds the physical world in which you live in your consciousness.

Dr. Stephen R. Covey, author of The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People says that listening to another person is like giving them oxygen. By doing so, we have the opportunity to bring a quality of consciousness to other people that assists them to flourish. The people in your world are constantly responding to the way you think about them. Additionally social scientists who have studied human communication tell us that much of what we convey to other people is through body language. Facial expressions, posture and the tone of voice can communicate more powerfully than the words we use. They are part of the music of what we communicate to others. And if the words and music don’t match, the people in our creative field respond to that confusion. Beyond words and beyond body language there are subtler ways that our consciousness pervades our creative field and affects it profoundly. A prayer spoken for the well being of another brings them greater possibility of increasing health even if they are halfway around the world Sheryl says As a Reiki energy healer using Distant Healing we have seen many miracles people with brain bleeds who survived burns eyes surgery lumps that could have been cancerous gone completely…and so on. An energy field of love helps children thrive.

David tells us that most people live their life with the understanding that they are a small part of a big world. While that is true at a physical level there is another way to look at it. From the standpoint of your mental capacity your consciousness is big enough to hold everything and everyone in your world. They all live there in your mind and in the atmosphere created by your thoughts. If you experience yourself as part of a big world you will find yourself assessing the people and places in that world to determine which ones you like and which ones you want to avoid. You can begin to understand that you can change your experience by surrounding the people and circumstances that live in your consciousness with the atmosphere from your creative flowing water force with a spirit of understanding and positive intention.

You can choose to see past people’s limitations and faults, and give them a place in your thoughts where they can be themselves. When you understand that the people in your life populate your mind as well as your world you become more interested in their well being. David tells us how he found life in New York City a bit challenging but then changed his attitude and perception to embrace the good things in that place and New York became my city. I felt connected to all of it. I felt the sun shining through me to all of its people. They became my people and became their friend.

Sheryl says I remember when my son who moved to California married and stayed there said those very same words to me. “These are my people.”

David’s experience in New York was a great lesson in his life. I either accept the atmosphere around me for what it is and let it energize me or I become a victim of it. And if I accept it, I attain mastery by virtue of something that I cannot fully explain. ACCEPTANCE. It’s the difference between breathing and suffocation. Accept the world around you. Breathe deeply.

We go on to discuss enlightened thinking. Understanding the Four Forces that work through all of Creation as the means to see how your human capacities help to live a creative life. When the four forces of your Being are flowing freely through you in a balanced way as the ancient Greeks called dunamis –the ability to create came to be in modern times dynamic or dynamite. The forces are water, air earth and fire. Water brings flow. Air brings intelligence. Earth brings strength and Fire brings generosity.

Sheryl says that we may come to see enlightened living as a way to unify the spiritual force of our soul with physical reality and to utilize the four forces that empower our attitudes, reactions and ability to change and adapt to all situations while always accepting that we are energetic beings of infinite potential and eternal life. So enlightened thinking is being able to sustain any challenges and do your best in the moment knowing that nothing is either good or bad, just experience for the purpose of finding your complete Being or connection to the Creative force of life.

David might like you to think of the Spiritual body where generosity resides and while generosity is an act in one gives liberally to another it might also be a quality of human experience that is characterized as more love, more energy, more ideas, more options and more to offer to others. People’s capacity to love in a generous way is born from their spiritual body. It might be a love of the world in which a person lives and the people in it. It can include the love of family, community, or an organization. For some it might be a love for the whole world. It is also the capacity to love one other person, or even oneself, in a generous compassionate way When you understand that you have a neve ending source of the universal power of love within you, then, in the universal power of love within you, then, in the atmosphere of that understanding you mind your body and your emotions learn to make that connection,

We thank David Karchere for a delightfully sensitive story of recognizing that we all are the sun and need to find how to let it shine it’s beauty and brightness into the world. In knowing more intuitively of our soul life, we may manage to deal with the physical world in kinder and more loving ways for soul growth and refinement and a pathway to bring heaven to earth or allow the best in each of us to shine bright into the world with greater love, compassion and goodness.

In summarizing today’s episode of “Healing From Within” we have explored the mystery of our own humanity to begin to notice what is happening within so we can allow the events of life to fill our conscious space in a more truly integrated way. We have perhaps seen how the four cosmic forces are embodied by individual human beings. In thinking of how life may change if we brought an atmosphere of understanding to our whole human condition we might begin to see the beauty of our complete Being and then allow the sun or infinite compassion and love within to illuminate our atmosphere or energy field and create a new understanding of ourselves, others and the world.

We have come to know that people are precious and the lives of all those who came before us matter. All they did that lets us be here now matters. If any of our ancestors did not live their lives we could not be here as we are now. We have learned that the infinite and eternal are not just energized stuff. They are not just energy and matter, they are Universal Being embodied in human form.

David wrote, “Just as a cloudy night obscures the light of the stars, clouds in our consciousness can obscure the infinite and the eternal. Worries about the future can dominate thoughts and feelings. Grief about the past can haunt people, and anger can consume them. Because of these clouds in consciousness people can lose touch with the vastness around them and then feel trapped in their immediate surroundings. They can forget their connections with that vast reality.”

David and I would have you open your mind and heart to the whispers and visions of higher Self and in meditation prayer, in the silence of the day or night, have a mystical magical experience that reminds you of your connection to Universal Being and that the birthright of infinite possibility is your gift to share and enjoy all the days of your physical life and later on beyond in Universal Life.

Welcome to Healing From Within with your host Sheryl Glick author of the newest book in the trilogy, A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening and like her esteemed guest William Arntz author of How to Suffer in 10 Easy Steps and Producer of the film What the Bleep Do We Know has explored the human and divine aspects of our energetic being to understand how to best deal with creating or manifesting a purposeful and joyful life journey.

Thank you for joining us on Healing From Within and I must extend a lovely hello to your wife Deidre Hall, a former guest of the show who discussed the book you both created, The Not So Little Book of Surprises which sits on my coffee table, as it is so extraordinary and beautiful. For listeners to hear the show Deidre and I shared please go to the radio page of my website www.sherylglick.com MARCH 2019 SPECIAL EDITIONS.

As listeners of Healing From Within are well aware, Sheryl and her guests share intimate stories of metaphysical origins in the hopes of answering questions such as “Who are we?” “Where do we come from?” and “What lies beyond this physical world and life?” As spiritual beings having a physical life our duality sometimes makes it hard to pay attention to our inner wisdom and remember the outside world is not the source of our happiness or unhappiness. The question of how to create or manifest our best lives has always been the quest for spiritual minds to investigate, and for self-mastery of emotions, another great search for truth, and perhaps the only way to find truth.

In today’s episode of Healing From Within, we will discover how Willian Arntz, as a Research Laser Physicist, was able to explore spiritual life alongside scientific and physical life. Because the fact of the matter is, Arntz lets us know suffering is inescapable, inevitable and quite inconvenient, but we must learn to work with. Like they say, you can run, you can hide, but life will find you and the sooner you face your challenges, the better we all are.

William tells us something about life today and what is most meaningful to everyday life experiences.

William says “There are three main factors in how things work here in this life that set things up to deliver a life of suffering to everybody on the planet. They are duality, entropy and belief. Duality is what philosophers call the inescapable name of the game on planet Earth. The world of suffering is defined by the two-some-ness that we find ourselves in, yin/yang, hot/cold in/out right/wrong good/bad yes/no me/them ..the whole twosome dance: Without these opposing forces, there would be no physical world at all including no female/male pleasure/pain and life and death. What would life be like if there were no two, no opposites, no polarity, no me/them just a Oneness of All: just a non-ending merry go round. Not much to suffer about in that picture.

It’s not like duality has just been discovered. We’ve been dealing with it from the beginning. Thinkers throughout time and space have wrestled with the question of how to deal with the dual nature of reality. The “Golden Mean” suggested by Socrates, Plato, Aristotle and their students were extremes between the two poles of a given issue; the extremes were to be avoided. An example of their thinking is courage: too much courage is reckless, too little courage is cowardliness. Therefore, courage is the “Golden Mean” between recklessness and cowardice. It is in striking the perfect balance between all opposites that beauty and virtue and less suffering are to be found.

In China, Confucian and Taoist philosophers taught “The Doctrine of Mean” as the way of the superior man. Therefore, the superior man cultivates a friendly harmony without being weak. How firm is he in his energy? He stands erect in the middle, without inclining to either side. Again, extremes are to be avoided. Let the states of equilibrium and harmony exist in perfection and a happy order will prevail throughout heaven and earth.

The Middle Path as the Buddhists called the solution to duality, or the path to enlightenment, was between the addiction of self-pleasure and the addiction of self-mortification. In this doctrine, Buddha gives the means for enlightenment and the end of suffering…be neither attracted or repulsed.

William goes on to discuss Entropy- The End of Everything. Entropy also known as the Second Law of Thermodynamics states that everything in the Universe eventually moves from order to disorder, and entropy is the measurement of that change, the measurement of the randomness or disorder in a system. Entropy is inevitable!

This is a set up for suffering. Everything goes away. Loss is the destiny of this world. No matter how many riches, contingency plans, and vitamin supplements you have, the finale of the movie of you in this world is the same: dust in the wind.

Non Attachment is one of the ways of living philosophies and religious beliefs designed to deal with the train wreck at the end, and we learn nothing is permanent, which is a sobering thought and, yes, it causes suffering.

William continues on to talk about Beliefs- Your Personal Setup/Worldview. There is yet another suffering setup and that is your personal relationship with suffering itself—a relationship based on what your underlying ideas or beliefs about this life experience are. This collection of beliefs, ideals, wisdom and experience, is collectively known as your worldview. Seemingly, people who have these worldviews might suffer more than people who perceive the world in a different way.

Here are some of the more popular worldviews regarding suffering:

If I suffer enough God will forgive me.
If I suffer more than enough, I will forgive me.
    No pain, no gain.
Suffering is good for the soul.
    It’s my karma.
If it’s not happening to me, it’s not my problem.

I am being tested as to my worthiness. “What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.” (Nietszche)
Fate is fatal—nothing you can do about it.
William describes why he calls suffering the “Gorilla in the Room.”

William wrote, “If you ignore (aka are unconscious of) the Gorilla, you will stay in the darkness.” The only way to the light is being conscious of the big ape. And not only does that point a way to move beyond suffering, it also suggests that the suffering itself is what will serve you getting to the light. I mean, if you’re going to suffer you might as well get something out of it right? As the famous German philosopher Fredrich Nietzsche put it, “To live is to suffer. To survive is to find some meaning in suffering. To which I may add: To flourish and not merely survive is to make suffering your bitch.” So invite that ugly brute into the room of your awareness. I can’t say what to do when the Big Hairy One is there. But it will change things. Plus you may get a bottle of Chardonnay out of the deal.”

William tells us what inspired him to write How to Suffer in 10 Easy Steps. This book does something radical, it does not promise you a better life. It tells you how to work with the one you’ve got with the highs and lows…especially the lows. You may learn how to own your sadness, how to wear pain like a new designer t-shirt, how to wallow in self-pity like a pig in mud. Because the fact of the matter is suffering is inescapable. William tells us his wife inspired him to write the book when she said, “I just want to lie here and suffer.” In that moment, she invited the Gorilla of Suffering into the room of her awareness and stopped pretending it wasn’t standing there, kicking her in the back. She not only became aware of her suffering, she publicly admitted to it. Even more stunning, she admitted to wanting to embrace it.”

Sheryl says she believes as souls having a physical life, the greatest gift of this life is to feel and embrace all emotions, know and survive all emotions, and then find those that serve us best, so we can eliminate the fear of life, and know the best of all experiences, which is simply to love, even in the face of self-doubt, loss, pain of sorrow for all things to come and go, and then we have new opportunities to feel different emotions. The key to successfully experiencing and surviving all emotions from the negative to the positive, is to embrace it, know it, but not to stay in the energy of that emotion for too long.

William discusses with Sheryl why he takes a humorous approach to a serious, sad subject. Sheryl says, “Perhaps, it is not a sad subject, just the reality of a physical life which can be no different, because of entropy, human nature, and the reason a soul chooses to experience these challenges in the first place. So by accepting that no experience we have is a sad subject, we already become the victor of any challenge. So finding humor often alleviates pain and suffering, making a realistic assessment of what can transpire in no other way but the way it does. Since Sheryl knows Consciousness and the essence of our individual soul memoires survives physical death, it is, for her, less stressful to deal with the challenges of physical life. We may not like it, but must allow, accept, and surrender to “all that is” as we know all things are transitory and moving through our emotions and difficult feelings, leads us to new opportunities to experience other attitudes and viewpoints, so the theme should be “Don’t get stuck.”

William expresses that there seems to be a satirical look at self-help books. Perhaps, self-help books often don’t work because people are invested in their pain and suffering. Take for example the ultra-marathoner that William describes. They run over a hundred miles without stopping and are on their feet for 20 plus hours. They suffer. And yet they do it. Why?

Ultra-athletes willingly put themselves in extreme situations that would cause most people extreme pain and suffering. But for the athlete, because of their underlying beliefs and values—their worldview some believe in “no pain, no gain.” Some believe they can prove themselves by enduring what few people can. Their relationship to suffering itself affects their experience of it. The pure “suffer more” crowd is into suffering for a variety of reasons. For some it’s about eventually getting pleasure out of the deal; Examples are…Why are you hitting your head on your locker? Because it feels so good when I stop.

William lets us know that suffering may not be avoidable. But, it is possible with attitude and courage, resilience and awareness, of both your spiritual qualities or energy, that you do have ways to self-soothe situations, and pain, thereby lowering the level of suffering which often is a choice, not a reality. If nothing is done to address the suffering, then it will loop and loop, become a consistent attitude or pattern which colors how you view life. It becomes a habit, the habit of suffering. In order to break the pain/suffering cycle there needs to be an energetic input. The input can be intention, learning, awareness, will power, frustration or commitment. In other words, something from outside the cycle has to come in to break it. Once the cycle breaks, there is every hope that the pain and depression will go away. Change the pattern, change the thoughts to do things in a new inviting way, rewrite the story or script with a happier ending.

In every chapter about The Pseudo Science of Suffering, William tells us about details for readers to create their very own Sufferometer.

Let’s take the next step to understand a left brain, quasi-logical cause and effect, analysis of suffering. The most obvious event that triggers suffering is pain. People often refer to pain and suffering as if it’s one and the same thing. But it isn’t. When pain ratchets up to the point where a bunch of things come into play, say with a back situation—you can’t go to work, you can’t tie your shoes, hell you can’t even wipe yourself as any movement is painful—something happens. As pain increases there comes a specific point where it’s just too much. This is called the Threshold of Suffering. When you hit this threshold of suffering you abandon all attempts to ignore the discomfort and give yourself over to being miserable. And push through it when you eliminate the suffering you can eliminate the pain Our thoughts are that powerful. So lean into the moment and eventually conquer the pain thereby conquering suffering.

William would like readers to take away with them after reading How to Suffer in Ten Easy Steps. This is a book about nearly everything. Yet, the one unavoidable thing we all do – suffer—has been woefully ignored. Furthermore, the alleviation of suffering is the hidden drive behind so much of what everyone does. Find love—so you won’t suffer loneliness, create riches so you won’t suffer lack. Talking about suffering is a taboo, yet, we know that hiding a problem only makes it worse. How to Suffer in 10 Easy Steps takes the taboo head on with humor, insights and wisdom of the ages.

Sheryl tells a story of when she was a little girl and cried up to the heavens and asking “Why did you drop me in this place?” As an empath and intuitive, Sheryl knew even then, that within much of what she was suffering, barely scratched the surface of our magnificent potential to experience all emotions and triumph over them. Many of the authorities or grownups Sheryl encountered, were simply not behaving in the most loving, intelligent fashion, for it seems they had fear, anger and often scolded others. It may have been done to protect, but often it just discouraged spontaneity and the divine spirit or soul of the child. Maybe they had not learned how to understand suffering as we are discussing here. But, suffering like life, is an opportunity to know yourself, the physical and spiritual aspects of life, gaining new perspectives, attitude and fortitude, as we use the inner wisdom of intuition and soul personal power to transform all suffering or challenges, while simply allowing and accepting life as it is, not perhaps as you want to make it.

We thank William Arntz author of How To Suffer in Ten Easy Steps for sharing ideas of different philosophers, religions and self help authorities, as they seek to understand the duality of life in a physical sense and transcend that reality by allowing us to experience pain and suffering as a natural state of the human condition, while offering hope that it is indeed just an opportunity to learn grow and appreciate life more.

In summarizing today’s episode of Healing From Within, we have taken an internal deep look at a topic which affects every human being, but is often not thought of as a necessary and unavoidable fact of life. Looking at it from a new perspective as William has, we can find ways to discover benefits in all experiences, good or bad, and find ways to transcend the challenge with courage, wisdom and a realistic view of who we are as spiritual beings having a physical life. William describes Catherine, an ancient visionary in the Middle Ages, who devoted her life to God and suffered greatly as that was her chosen path to God.

William writes, “Apparently Catherine is not done with her investigation into suffering. While visiting the Basilica of Saint Domenico, my wife Deidre who like Catherine had been having visions from a young age turned to me and said, “Catherine is here.” Standing in the middle of the Basilica, Deidre, myself and our unsuspecting Italian tour guide, felt a surge of electricity as all our hair stood on end. The guide stuttered, “What is going on!?” “Catherine wants you to know that suffering for her was a valid pathway to God, but that was then, this is now. Suffering such as was in her time is now no longer a pathway.” The pathway now is to move to the End of Suffering. It has served it’s purpose.

Sheryl, like Deidre, as an empath and medium, has seen, felt and sensed extreme emotions by people around them and understands that healing, suffering, lies within our soul energy of love, compassion, acceptance of the uniqueness of life, in its Oneness.

William and Sheryl would have you in a world where there still is injustice, oppression, disease, a misguided thought of death, there is also hope, renewal and the path past apathy and non-caring, to create thoughts and solutions to end fear, suffering, and to not only accept the reality of life, but find gratitude for the eternal energy of continuous change and personal self-development. We are here to feel and to find what is good within us. We hope you begin to move past suffering to embrace joy.

Welcome to Healing From Within with your host Sheryl Glick Reiki Master Energy Teacher and author of her newest book in a trilogy A New Life Awaits: Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening which shares stories and messages from Spirit that show us our challenges are no economic political or societal but a disconnect from our true being and soul wisdom, or simply a loss of alignment to Universal Source.  Sheryl is delighted to welcome  Rabbi Wayne Dosick a former guest of the show to share his new book Radical Loving which sends out a prophetic call to us to rediscover our spiritual roots and have the courage to become voices for radical transformation based on the concept of One God One World One People the subtitle of this book.

For those  listeners’ who would like to listen to the former show Rabbi Dosick and I  shared about his book The Real Name of God go to the radio page of my website www.sherylglick.com  September 2013

As listeners of Healing From Within are well aware, Sheryl and her intuitive sensitive guests share stories and insights into the human and divine nature of each individual, exploring a greater awareness of the duality physical and energetic soul life and the connection to Spirit and therefore, all living things.   As we self-investigate and learn more about life and the Universal Laws we can become better equipped to deal with challenges and manifest our best lives as well as finding life is a true miracle and gift.

In today’s episode of Healing From Within Rabbi Dosick will share his views on faith, ethical values, life transformations and evolving human consciousness. He shows us how to Re-Member and come together overcoming the fear of separation and demonization represented by fundamentalists who stay limited to old ideas and limiting values. We will find we are all children of the universe, children of God, messengers of peace and warriors for good. Many  of us know there is more that unites us than separates us and if we look beyond negativity we can hear our inner voice create acts of love, righteousness, goodness compassion.

When Sheryl asks Rabbi Dosick to think back to their childhood and remember a person place or event that signaled to im or others what lifestyle interests and pursuits would be most important in their adult lives he immediately tells us when he was about fifteen years old his teacher told his mother that he would not amount to anything as he refused to memorize the Periodic table in science class.  Rabbi Dosick says he was already aware his interests were in the social sciences literature and improving the human condition. Thank goodness he didn’t let that premonition destroy him.

Wayne tells us the main ideas of his newest book  Radical Loving One God One World One People and why he  wrote this book now.

In the First Word Rabbi Dosick writes, What a privilege it is to be in a body on Earth at this moment! He tells us many souls wanted to come to life on earth in this time as the world and Spirit are going through a massive transformation moving from a Three Dimensional reality and way of life to the Fifth Dimension of spiritual awareness higher consciousness greater health prosperity and love for all life…beyond the pain of these societal religious and political issues we will benefit and improve ourselves and human life.   We live in the magnificence of Earth’s stunning beauty. We are the crown of creations. We are partners in the ongoing unfolding of the universe.

We stand at yet another pinnacle of scientific, medical and technological exploration. We hold the design for goodness, righteousness, equality, justice, decency, dignity, grace, kindness, compassion and love.

We constantly evolve human consciousness and reveal more and more of the mysteries of the universe.

We embody unleashed growth and unlimited potential.

We are God’s precious children, living on God’s glorious Earth, bathed in the Light of God’s splendor.

    How fortunate we are.

How sweet and good our lives can be. And yet we don’t value this precious life as we should.

We need to learn to live together lest we perish together.

Beyond the many great storms our world is now enduring….the heaviness of hatred and division, violence, terror war and greed and political folly which threaten the soul of all humanity There is but one pathway. It is the pathway that requires great and resolute courage.  It comes to us from the eternal wisdom and the universal truths that are within us.

    Who are we?

    How shall we live?

    How shall we be?

The answer is right before us.

    We must Re-Member

We are One people under God and love and caring for each other is the way.

These are the main ideas of this book.

Since God appears so often in this book is it a religious book and since you are Jewish—and a rabbi—why should anyone of a different religion be interested in what God says through you? Rabbi Dosick shows us that each of the religions evolved from messengers of God who brought an added piece of the puzzle of life not negating what we already knew but added to that knowledge to refine and refresh our deepest feelings of connection to All that Is. Rabbi Dosick wrote,

“Because age-old wisdom teaches us You do not know something until you know its name. When we name sickness, we can begin to fight it and defeat it.

We see the evil: discordant division because of race, religion, ethnicity, gender or class—the demonizing of “The Other.”

We see the evil: the rise of xenophobia, radical Islamic fundamentalism, racism racial profiling, white nationalism, white supremacists, the Ku Klux Klan, neo-Nazis neo-fascists, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, sexism, misogyny, ethnic discrimination apartheid bigotry, senseless hatred, brutal violence, terrorism and the despoiling of our planet.

The Good News is that men and women of peace and good will can rise up against evil for we understand the words of the modern- day genius-visionary Albert Einstein who famously remarked, “The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything.”

Sheryl says that for those who follow the love of God within their heart know this and at this time, like Rabbi Dosick myself and the over 700 guests I have interviewed we are are sending their thoughts their words of hope and love and their awareness of the many challenges faced by the world now with solutions for healing ourselves our communities and our world.

Rabbi Dosick writes, A solution can only begin to emerge when, first, all parties and particularly the extremists on all sides stop advocating the destruction of lands and the annihilation of peoples, and when all parties agree to recognize each other and each other’s right to exist in secure, defensible borders. This can only happen when there is honorable self-determination and abiding rights for human rights for all—including religious ethic civic minorities, women and the most vulnerable members of these societies.  This is true not only for Israel and the middle east warring for generations but for all nations in the world.  Yet if neither a political or practical resolution can be achieved then the only hope that peace will come to Israel, her neighbors and other parts of the world is a Divine intervention—a miracle from God.

Sheryl shares with us that in her new book A New Life Awaits she was told about miracles to come and wrote, “ I recently was asked to be a guest at the Enlightened Women Enlightened You Summit hosted by Dr. Ruth Anderson, who told me that Archangel Michael was part of 500,000 light beings on the planet at the present time to aid us in our movement through all the tragedies and heartaches we are experiencing now to a more loving, peaceful time for humanity. I immediately tried to connect to the energy of these teachers and angels being so moved by their desire to help with the healing of our many problems.  It is through miracles that they will work with humanity at this troubling time for many people to open their hearts.

The reading that follows is what was expressed to me. April 30, 2019

A march across the valley through mountains Side by side, row after row, endless power and discipline to walk the world as the Jewish people walked through the Red Sea and desert to find God We will help you triumph in light and be free We begin with the children and lift them up to hold their own sense of goodness and help the elders be more aligned to their own innocence We will fan and cool the rage and anger with miracles, Like the boy who lives after being thrown off from the highest point of an escalator in a mall in Minnesota And the Rabbi who with love blesses the woman who gave her life to save him during a shooting in the temple so he could speak the truth to his congregation and nation thanking the President of the United States who gave his time effort and blessings to help the Jewish people and to end hatred and return us to peace.

The women and angels like lifting a tree from a sprout to a giant timber will encourage nurturing Women’s Rights and their nature to provide the best of their life force so the planet can stand married to life love and new beginnings The pain of relationship will be given up for more interactive processes and we will insist on equality for Men and Women, Black Brown and White, Jewish Christian or Islam We will insist on allowing groups to meet and find common ground It is not a request, but a Divine Decree!

Wayne writes that, “As children of God, children of the universe, there is more that unites us than divides us” and with all the diversity and enmity in the world right now, we finally have an opportunity to learn that truth.

Sheryl says that spiritually minded people follow their personal connection to universal source and in meditation, prayer, healing energy work, connect to the love and peace of Universal Creative Energy and know that any limitation to that connection by religion, politics, family, and societal belief systems are the reason we have fear. Division, lack of fulfilling our human potential and spiritual goals.  False belief systems, group think, Identity Politics, which place people in different groups dividing and dehumanizing people are part of the main problem the world is facing now.  As resources have been misused for personal gain only, nations, corporations, governments, seek to control, and have more power to hold onto the resources they have, rather than eliminating suffering and poverty by sharing, rebuilding, rethinking, ways to preserve and have enough food and water shelter to support the world population. They act in unwholesome ways to protect themselves.  This is not Godly nor practical.

Rabbi Dosick writes—in the words of God—that, “the absolute truth is that no group’s book, no group’s interpretation of Me is superior to any other.”  What does that mean and doesn’t that contradict what so many religious groups and faith communities have been teaching all these years?

Rabbi Dosick writes, “While I respect and honor every religion and faith community’s pathway, since my own background is Judaism many of the sources references and allusions will be from the Jewish tradition but I hope you can easily transfer my attributions in your own idiom so you can embrace the spirit and meaning of this transmission.

Sheryl says that she believes throughout time man’s religious search for understanding how we as humans came to have a life and how we are to live this life is the most prolific of all searches. Those questions: Who are we? Where do we come from? and What is the meaning of life? have caused people to search for what already lies within their soul and heart. All the answers and connection to the creative force of all life, the Divine God or Universal Source are to be remembered hopefully over the course of a lifetime, perhaps many lifetimes.  Truly wise people know, “There are many paths to God and all are welcomed by that divine representation no matter what path you choose.”  Therefore, Acceptance Allowing and Surrendering are the way to move past negativity and to find calm peaceful loving resolutions to all our challenges and problems.

He goes on to write, “In days of old and surely these days, your theme song seems to be, “My God’s better than your God,” But that is absolutely impossible!  There is only One God. Me. I am the Creator and Parent of each and every one of you.   I am God. There is nothing else. I form light and create darkness. I make peace and create evil. I, the Source and Substance of All do this (Isa. 45: 6-7)

“I am the Everything of the Everything, the wholeness, the totality, the Oneness of the universe—male and female, father and mother, light and dark, and shadow, us and other, justice and compassion, pain and comfort, sense and nonsense, good and evil, anger and tranquility, indifference and passion, joy and sorrow, tragedy and triumph, right and wrong, yes and no, conflict and harmony, war and peace, vengeance and incredible love, life and death, and life eternal.”

“ There is nothing that is not me. “ And I know you intimately and intensely.” So I tell you:  Your two different genders are just a practicality that you can reproduce and populate the Earth. Otherwise, men and women are equally human, equally my children. Your sexuality is your choice. I am All and All is me. Everyone is created in My image. I do not care how you express your Beingness….

When I created you, I made each one of you a perfect human being. I do not make mistakes.

I gave you the whole Earth as your collective home.

It is you who have imposed any perceived differences on each other.

I love you all –fully and equally. In each era, I gave you a collection of myths, legends, fables, stories, codes, ways of living and most of all—ways to love.

To the Hebrews, I gave the Bible
To the Christians, I gave the New Testament.
To the Muslims, I gave the Koran.
To the people of the East, I gave sacred ideas.
To all the indigenous people of all places, I gave tribal tales.
All of these holy texts came through sages who were my messengers.

Wisdom is wisdom. It does not belong to any one faith or religious community. It belongs to the Universe—to all times and all places and all peoples.

Yet …,says God, you all misunderstood. You all perverted my intent.  Historically and for many today, My religious guidebooks are not seen as cumulative but as superseding the previous…..

This has led to your theological, ideological cultural and political warfare—to crusades, nationalism fundamentalism, radicalism inquisitions, holy wars, pogroms, gas chambers, genocide, and world -wide terror—with the current threat of nuclear annihilation hovering. It has led to the disruption of the sacred relationship of human beings and Me as co-creative partners on Earth. Our Earth cannot be healed, built up, and perfected while some are trying to tear it down through their own egoism and selfishness.

The absolute, universal truth is: No groups book no groups interpretation of Me is superior to any other………..What you call religion came into being to be a vessel, a vehicle for people to join together to relate to Me—a power greater than you understood—and to attempt to find your place and purpose in the universe.

He goes on to say, I am the One God.  There is this One World in which we exist. You are One—the children of Me—the One God.  You –We—are One.  All is One.  One is All. Oneness—human unity—does not mean sameness.  Our world’s richness comes from the dazzling tapestry of the ways that you live and become. There is so much to celebrate in your unique world-views and experiences.  You can cherish your magnificent uniqueness and you can respect and honor the wondrous significance of all humankind.

Radical Loving, the title of your book means as Rabbi Dosick writes that “We talk to God. God listens. And then, God comes to us in words, and visions and day and night dreams. And we really have to listen and see—to be open, clear channels: to be empty enough for God to come through us……..These incredible challenging times call us to nothing less than a radical shift in human consciousness, a sweeping revolution, an unbounded evolution and transformation of humankind and the planet we inhabit. We envision a complete, unconditional unreserved embrace of the World of Spirit and a World of Oneness.  Can we heal our broken world? Ca

n we wipe away the darkness and bring the light? Can we see the face of love in every human being? Can we jubilantly embrace the pathway that will lead us forward to Eden on Earth?

    Please.  Let’s try.”

We can come to know that wherever we look, there is God.  All we have to do is be aware, be conscious.  God is Everything—Everywhere.  Seeing your face is like seeing the face of God (Gen.33:10)

When we see the Face of God how can we react in any way except wrapped in love? If we openly and freely gave each person intense passionate radical love, then we would know that every person is just like us, a child of God.

We talk about what  Awesome Holiness is.  To be holy means to be different, to separate from any similar entity in the universe.  God is holy because God is unique from any other being. We can be holy when we rise above the mundane; when we stand out from the ordinary, when we bring a sense of direction and purpose to our maddening world: when we care, share and love. We can be holy when we reflect God’s ability to have relationships of unconditional love. We can be holy when we heal our own brokenness and join with God in the task of transforming and perfecting the world.  We can be holy when we feel the Divine Presence flowing within us when every thought word and deed make us God’s partners here on Earth.

Some of the places in our lives and some of the ways we can begin to implement these ideas with practical everyday examples are:

We must make our lives into what it really can be and we can perceive what God would want for his beloved human children. God desires that the heart be pure and we fully give God our hearts by opening our minds and souls to the teachings that God has given us throughout the ages and to talk with him in dreams, prayer and meditation.  God simply wants each human being to become the best he/she can be and to live free from need and fear with all-encompassing human rights and dignity.

Rabbi Dosick goes on to say, ”Let’s tell it like it is. Any group or person who tries to impose belief, or behavior on others must be stopped from discrimination and intimidation.  Everyone has a right to personal or communal belief and passion. No one has the right to force that belief or passion on anyone else.  Fundamentalism is poisoning our world. So mainstream moderate Jews must stand up to the rigid ultra- Orthodox: mainstream moderate Protestants must stand up to evangelicals: mainstream, moderate Catholics must stand up to arch conservative mainstream moderate Muslims must stand up to radicals. And mainstream moderates of every place on the gender, racial political spectrums must stand up to misogynists, white supremacists, neo-Nazis, neo fascists, and anti-Semites. We can no longer let the big bad bullies of this world terrorize us or control our lives.  We can no longer be afraid.  There is only one antidote to the fear that prevents us from taking action and standing for truth and ultimately what God wants for us.  That is love.

Perhaps when we remember or realize once again that there really is a force and creation, universal, divine, eternal, and therefore unending, and that God is at the very center of who we are, where we are, all that we are, and what we do, and all that we will become, we can once again know as the Jesuit priest and spiritualist Pierre Teilhard de Chardin said, “We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience. God placed us on this Earth with a Divine Design for our purpose and mission. We are co-creative partners in building up our world and we are to follow God’s code of moral behavior and ethical values that elevates the human spirit. With God, we are to fashion a world of goodness, righteousness, peace and love.

Sheryl says  as we realize there is no separation, no duality, and God is the Fullness of All Being, we will not feel alone or separated from love and uncomfortable in challenges imposed on us by the physical world. Then, we will remember that God is within us, around us, and that each breath we take in life is shared with the divine breath that made us human and gave us this physical life in order to refine our soul energy and understand how intimate our connection to God is, now and forever.  When we finally know this truth we understand that we must live according to the laws of the Universe and not be broken down by other people’s belief systems, then, we are able to help others and the highest good for all is realized, as we know that our will is God’s will and goodness love and honor is at the core of our unique, but united spiritual essence. As a soul we have a unique history and destiny but all souls are interconnected to each other and all of life, which is God.

Even though  Radical Loving was written before the onset of the worldwide Covid  pandemic, the pandemic affected what is written here.

Rabbi Dosick writes and Sheryl understands this to be meaningful and true. “We do not know God’s design for our world.  We do not know how our temporal suffering fits into the Divine plan and how our personal pain may be contributing to the ultimate perfection of the world and if we look to the ancient biblical story of Joseph who was given in slavery to the Egyptians but through his love of God and spiritual gift of mediumship or prophesy was able to help the Pharaoh and was given power and great position. When his brothers met him again, they were afraid of retribution for having acted badly but Joseph said, “You meant it for evil against me. But God meant for good.” (Gen. 50:20)

And it was good indeed, for because of his position, Joseph was able to save the entire country from starvation and his whole family from certain death.

Sheryl shares with us that when she as an intuitive healer and medium was sick with Covid April 2020 she was in constant talks with Spirit wanting to know the purpose of her having this dreadful disease.  Sheryl’s breathing was affected and she practiced constantly expanding her lungs and exercising them, drinking lots of tea and water, resting, and watched as many families grew closer together via facetime and other social media, and  frivolous values were replaced with a great love for each other and life and God as well.

When Sheryl returned to doing her radio shows she spoke with another healer who had also been ill and said Before having Covid she was unable to do distant healing with a person sick with the disease as the discomfort she felt in the lungs was too hard for her to move past.  After being ill, she was able to move past the symptoms of her clients, and help them recover. So she had built up an immunity for herself and Sheryl also found she was able to send healing to many who needed it.  That was the Divine Plan, so while Sheryl didn’t like having the illness, she accepted and surrendered to it and ultimately it worked in many ways to support her and others.

We thank  Rabbi Wayne Dosick for sharing a lifetime search for truth and the remembrance of our eternal connection to God and all living things, finding that an important reason for a physical life experience is to know we are within God’s energy and love, and to  share God’s message that all his children on earth and beyond are loved equally, unconditionally and are holy in that realization.

In summarizing today’s episode of Healing from Within it has been Sheryl’s  privilege to discuss the issues that are most dear to her heart and soul journey and to share the many loving messages that Spirit, the Divine God Universal Source or whatever you call that Infinite Eternal Wisdom of Creation who surrounds us, lives within us, and we within that force of love and compassion, use our time on earth to ask questions, ask for help when needed, and trust the larger plan for your life and humanity as a whole.  For within us and in this personal connection to God are the answers and compass to guide us to truth love, and living our best reality.

With age old-wisdom wrapped in modern day garb, the Rabbi’s thoughtful sweet and inspiring stories deep insights and gentle guidance are the calls to a renewal of our emerging new world of Oneness Unity beyond separation from life or fear of change and a way to bring Heaven to Earth As it once was, it can be again.

Rabbi Dosick writes, Paraphrasing the Talmud: “There are singular moments in our lives when we can discern the entire reason for our existence…(BT AZ. 10B)

    Our time has come.
    Our moment is now.
We have to be ready to fulfill our destiny.
We have to be joyfully willing to love, love, love.
The pandemic and the civil unrest have finally cracked open our hearts.  The light is slowly flowing in.  We sense, we feel, we see, the new world – home waiting for us to grasp it and step inside.

Home is the heart of love.
And God is eagerly waiting to welcome us home.

Rabbi Wayne Dosick and Sheryl would have you know that life is a miracle, each of us is a miracle, and as we open to the goodness, kindness, and love of All that we are blessed to receive, we will grow more aware of our uniqueness and ways to harness the love God holds for each of us and for humanity as well, so we may grow ever closer to the Divine Eternal within us that transcends the challenges of life, here and beyond.

  • Life and Death Side by Side

Welcome to “Healing From Within.” I am your host Sheryl Glick author of A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening which shares a view of a soul’s journey in life and beyond as it comes to know that whether in a body or out of a body there is life love learning evolving expansion and realms and realms of reality to explore and master. Today I welcome Cheverro Ananse Savage, author of Broken Mirror who explores the world of physical and spiritual life as most of us try to do after losing a loved one. Cheverro’s loss of his father when he was still in school was unusually challenging but what he discovered as a result can only be learned when the heart is wounded and the questions of life, love and soul are open to the truth.

As listeners of “Healing From Within” are well aware, my guests and I share intimate details of the gamut of emotions we experience as souls having a physical life dealing with our internal source of awareness and the physical challenges of this world. Indeed we learn that all experiences are opportunities for gaining greater love leading to peace within and acceptance of all realities.

In today’s episode of “Healing From Within” we will share the love, grief and reality of the loss of a beloved father and the courage and appreciation for having the time to be a family and discover the truth of gratitude, acceptance and surrendering to the life plan of each of us.

When Cheverro is asked to think back to his childhood and remember a person, place or event that may have made a meaningful impression on him and may have guided them to become the adult they are and live the lifestyle they have chosen as an adult he tells us of his father. Though his parents were divorced he spent time with his father in Las Vegas and his father always had him working on different projects and went over all his work showing him how important it was to attend to details and check all your work. His father loved learning, reading and helping his son find happiness in putting forth his best efforts. This was what probably led him to write his book Broken Mirror.

Cheverro learned much about himself from writing his book. At times looking in a broken mirror reflected the brokenness of his own heart and soul and disappointment in losing his father.

Cheverrro’s family were very supportive of his writing a book and shared the journey of exploring the heart from within and sharing it with the world.

When asked to describe his style of writing Cheverro says it is a mixture of poetry and prose.
    He gives an example below:

I remember your smile, I remember your laughter, and it is hard to believe you are in
    the here-after.
    I remember the pain
the whole family went through, the day of your
death, we all cried for you.
    I try so hard to
see you in my dreams but for some reason,
    they always come up empty.
Nights would not go by without a tear in my eye, then
the sun would shine and it seemed that the day
    would just rewind.
My mind was young, never knowing what really happened until
    I grew up.
As adults we will never meet, just
thoughts of “What if” or “What could have been.”
A lifetime of life without the ones you hold dear could be a lifetime of regret if
you stop living the life that you have.
Remember the past but understand that your
presence is a gift, cherish the memories,
    never forget.

Sheryl says that As a medium and empathic energy practitioner who receives messages for people that help them connect to their soul or higher self and remember who they are and why they are experiencing life on earth she always remark to people that the impressions she receives whether visually or in words or music or feelings are always expressed in a poetic or different tone and language than we mere mortals use. Many creative people, indeed all people are being inspired by the higher vibrational beings, souls, our relatives, angels, spiritual teachers, and of course the Divine.

Sheryl shares a story with Cheverro that happened to her twenty five years ago that was a sign that she would have a story to tell and books to write. After Sheryl had a spiritual visitation from her grandfather who had died many years and being told by him that she had to write something for her father Sheryl was bewildered. The very next day she received a phone call from her mother telling her that her father had passed. While she wrote his eulogy, that visit put her on a spiritual quest to know where her grandfather was and how she could reach him again. She couldn’t forget the feeling of that interaction with her deceased grandfather and through coincidences and synchronicity Sheryl was able to leave beyond many of the illusions she had about life imprinted on her in childhood and develop the intuitive healing gifts and mediumship ability she had been born with Sheryl discovered that we are spiritual beings having a physical life, we can communicate with those in Spirit, and we can find happiness and joy and peace if we incorporate the best of this physical world with the spiritual world.

On one of the first readings received by another medium, Sheryl was told she would write three books and her response was,”I don’t think so” and now, twenty or so years later, the third book in the trilogy of awakening, transforming, and transitioning all the challenges of life was released on February 7, 2020. A New Life Awaits encourages readers to imagine a world of healthy, successful, joyful people where fear and negativity is eliminated and love reigns. We discover that our challenges are not economic, political or societal, just a spiritual disconnect from our true being or soul wisdom. We find solutions to healing, creating a united community of spiritually connected people, acting in balance with nature and man, who participate in the circle of life and transcend the limited western thoughts of death bringing Heaven to Earth and love back into our hearts. Miracles are often ours for the asking.

So It seems it was my life plan to write that trilogy and as a dutiful citizen of the Universe completing missions and once I learned we are eternal souls of magnificent potential and possible and are creating our life story and everyday life by our thoughts and fears I wanted to help people manifest better outcomes by learning more about their energetic soul presence, the Afterlife and how to make an ordinary life extraordinary Knowing “Consciousness survives death,” was the greatest bit of information Sheryl could have ever been given and knowing that has made the last twenty five years a journey of sharing this wondrous truth, so we all can let go of so many worldly fears and trust the greater plan of the Divine for our evolution and personal development..

Sheryl says she thinks his father as all of us have a time to go and if we learn more about energy life and death we find there really is no death an can be delighted as are other souls in spirit who are so happy to see us move out of any fear or restriction to live the life we planned long before we incarnated into this life. If you conquer fears and live with love and the beauty of words, songs and joyful people to know the truth of our eternal soul life then your book shows you have completed the mission of the soul which is to rediscover the magnificence of our soul potential to shine light into the world and inspire goodness.

Sheryl tells Cheverro that something he wrote made me remember what my father said to me when I was young and afraid of so many changes that were constantly happening and upsetting the balance and routines she so favored…Sheryl’s father said, “You are your own worst enemy and so many of us try to be perfect and not allow life to unfold as it will, but control it, which is impossible, and that makes us hurt ourselves

    Cheverro wrote, “Best Kept Secret”

Secrets in the dark only heard by those who
care, whispers in the night only told to those
    we cherish.
No one knows the truth behind
closed doors; everything is kept quiet and silent.
Deep thoughts are always shared but it is up to you to realize what was said.
    A voice is never heard unless someone speaks;
it is good when we listen so we can be able
    to find what we seek.
    Answers never lie in
the questions we ask, there is always
someone that knows what you lack.
Persistence is the key to unlocking
resistance; we have to go after what we want
    as if we need it.
    There is nothing we should
fear except for ourselves because the best
kept secret is that we are our own living hell.

Sheryl says that instead of being afraid to speak what is our truth even if it may not be the truth of others we harm ourselves and stifle our greatest spiritual gift of free -will and love.

Sheryl feels that while life may be too short or too long depending on circumstance, it can be sweet and meaningful if you know love and appreciate those who have always been there and tried to help you find your way forward in a world of possibilities and some challenges for all of us. Put aside negative emotions after feeling and knowing them and seek that which makes you feel grateful to be alive and find friendships and interesting activities for learning and sharing what you value from within your own soul essence. Pay attention to the meaningful moments and know life is neither good nor bad, just a series of experiences that help us ultimately to see past the distractions of the physical world and know ourselves and others with more resilience, compassion and love.

    Cheverrro wrote,

“A glass of wine sits on a coffee table while
hot water is in a pan no longer boiling on the stove.
The lights are on in the bathroom with all the toiletries prepped ready for use.
Pacific is the atmosphere, very impassive in mood.
Sounds of dripping water a distant memory.
Worried faces begin to dial a number, the phone just rings, leaving more
reason to check out the scene. A woman arrives at the door only to notice a car in a
position that takes away any suspicions.
Tranquil is the abode, soon to be a locality
no longer referred to as, “Home.” The domicile appears to be clear due to the
scarcity of activity and the inadequacy to
answer the manager for an extra set of keys, he
opens the entrance and takes a step inside.
Only to find a man undressed lying on a couch, motionless, breathless, and spiritless.
The woman cannot go in to experience her brother’s descent.
This will bring forth feelings of nostalgia but we all are
comforted by the fact that finally he is in
harmony with the soil of his roots.”

We thank Cheverro Ananse Savage author of Broken Mirror for his sensitive artistic look at his own personal growth and love for life as a result of a painful unexpected loss of his father but out of that hardship a new understanding of himself and how lucky we all are when we can begin to allow and accept all events as necessary in our life plan and try to find the good that comes from this sense of connectedness to “All that is.”

In summarizing today’s episode of Healing From Within we have shared how human and spiritual understanding, love and personal growth, often come after a painful shock or trauma and only resiliency and courage lead us to gain a greater sense of the bigger picture of life and the power from within that sustains us and heals pain and sorrow often leading us to remember that life is good and is a gift from Spirit and no matter how long or short a life is it serves the soul’s need to refine it’s energy and grow more illustrious in compassion and love for All that is. Beyond the challenges of the physical world there are universes and life forces of wonderment and beauty and we must experience it all without judgment and negativity but allow the positive and good within us to expand and travel through time and space ultimately at some point connecting to the best in ourselves world and afterlife.

In my book A New Life Awaits:Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening and in response to these ideas, I wrote, “Whether in a body or in pure energy, the soul is the essence and complete oneness of Spirit’s Intelligence and Universal Love and travels with us through time and space, lifetime after lifetime, as we gather experiences to refine our already magnificent soul.

Cheverro and I would have you look to the lights above and the light within that is always calling to us in whispers of love to awaken, and know that there is no fear except the thoughts that limit you from expressing your full potential to expand and live with hope, love, and trust, knowing nothing is random, nothing is good or bad, just experience that expands our potential to grow in appreciation and gratitude for the Oneness of eternal life.

  • Transform Trauma with Body Awareness

Hello and welcome to Healing from Within I am Sheryl Glick your host and author of my newest book A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening which shares a contemporary look at the world social landscape of dysfunction as a result of a separation from our natural spiritual nature and ways to find our way to an integrated physical and spiritual renewal for success in this life and beyond. Today I welcome Julie Brown Yau author of The Body Awareness Workbook for Trauma Hello Julie and thank you for joining us on Healing From Within today.

Julie as listeners of Healing From Within are so well aware my guests and I share intimate insights into the true nature of being or our duality and spiritual as well as physical elements to living a healthy positive and successful life journey as we empower all aspects of our energy and awareness of higher consciousness. Learning who we are is the key to accepting allowing and flowing through all life’s challenges ultimately to find peace and love.

In today’s episode of Healing From Within Julie Brown Yau a psychologist and developmental trauma specialist at Compassionate Care ALS blends her unique approach with clinical psychology physical and subtle body energies and spiritual perspective in discussing and healing trauma. She will share how a traumatic event such as an accident act of violence abuse or any form of childhood trauma may leave profound psychological pain including post -traumatic stress anxiety or depression Trauma can alter the nervous and immune system which leads to a multitude of physical symptoms and disease. We will discuss ways to reconnect to our bodies after trauma cultivate calm and find lasting emotional balance,

Julie I always love to ask my guests to think back to their childhood and remember a person place event that may have shown them or others the lifestyle they might seek as an adult for often the person we are to become is already the person we are at the beginning of life

Let’s talk about where trauma starts for most people. Developmental trauma that emerges when basic childhood needs are not met is one form of trauma and I would imagine in one way or another each child loses a small part of their being in growing up and being socialized to the rules and regulations of their families and society NOW We are living in a time where there is a greater number of children with anxiety depression and autism than ever before so tell us something of this.

The essence of Trauma as described by Bessel van der Kolk an expert on post-traumatic stress identifies dissociation as the essence of our response to trauma. Dissociation if time limited is a healthy adaptive response. It’s as if a switch connecting you to your body is turned off and you move into a state of internal disconnection which prevents you from feeling what you perceive as intolerable. So it is the escape when there is no escape. However if this dissociative state is prolonged your fundamental world view becomes distorted and you may miss the signs of danger when they are there or you may detect danger when there is none. You can say your body is still scared even though you know the danger is over.

With dissociation you may feel disoriented unreal a bit spacey confused of just different. You may drift off into your own world or be consumed by a totally different task than the one at hand or you might become clumsy bump into things and be unresponsive to your immediate environment Many people are dissociated but they aren’t able to reconnect or integrate their experiences without help. Understanding that feelings of helplessness are often part of the dissociative state is essential.

How has somatic psychology helped us understand the connection between trauma and mental health issues such as depression and anxiety.

Unresolved trauma continues to live in your body. Following a traumatic experience how you feel in your body, even the way you hold your body, colors your perception of yourself and the world. Your body is either perpetually scared, on high alert and overly vigilant or shut down and disconnected to varying degrees. This causes an inner tension that heightens your perception of actual and potential danger, consciously and or unconsciously. Fear blocks your inherent love and wisdom. Your body may not know that the trauma and danger is long past even though you’re rationally aware of this.

Somatic psychology has shown that our bodies hold on to trauma and trauma can manifest in physical symptoms such as pain hormone imbalance sexual dysfunction and addiction. In addition we know that developmental trauma—that emerges when basic childhood needs are not met can result in profound emotional stress and lead to serious diseases. Building on this knowledge we can learn simple skills for connecting and calming the body balancing emotions and rewiring old patterns of reactivity for better self-regulation. The mind body approach in this book is designed to guide you away from post-traumatic stress disorder PTSD toward posttraumatic growth.

Your most sacred and important relationship is with yourself. This means living as an integrated and interconnected self, a spontaneous and embodied being grounded, at home in your body, authentically expressing your essential self. When trauma disrupts or obscures your relationship with your inner being all other relationships are compromised. Without a healthy relationship with yourself, you’re vulnerable to depression shame anxiety headaches lack of self-worth lack of a sense of safety, self-judgment intrusive thoughts and loss of connection with others. And many physical ailments have been traced to trauma.

Trauma at it’s core creates disconnection and you may suffer from many emotionally mentally physically painful feelings that cause you to isolate withdraw or compromise yourself in other ways. Trauma causes fear and fear separates you from love the love that you are, and the love that you could share with others.

Some consequences are you may feel you are a horrible person or that the world is a cold and empty place or you may be self-critical feel disconnected spiritually or be excessively judgmental. Hidden rage may escape in angry outbursts.

3A Tell us about your physical biological and subtle energetic bodies. Your dad was an aikido teacher and I am a Reiki Master teacher who and understanding the universal laws of energy as well as knowing we are spiritual beings having a physical life helps us to understand the importance of experiencing your own being and interconnectedness to others the world and beyond. In both aikido and meditation by tuning into your body sensations you can feel the life force energy or life force. Life force is believed to k=prana of Indian cultures pneuma of ancient Greece and the vital force of Western philosophy. The intricacies and maps of the subtle energies body and physiology vary from tradition to tradition yet include channels points and chakras in which the flow of life force energy think acupuncture determines the characteristics and well- being of the visible physical body. In aikido we refer to this life force as ki. Rei Ki…. Ki connects our body and mind and the cosmos.

After trauma Ki is distorted, repressed or disconnected. This creates rigidity and feelings of being stuck in the body or mind.

Your life force fuels self-expression, intuition, healthy aggression, sexuality, passions, creativity, and heart’s desire. It allows you to feel alive and joyous and also to fight or flee to safety in traumatic events. During trauma you get a surge of life force energy and afterward id you don’t use discharge or integrate it it negatively can affect your physiology and psychology diminishing your aliveness and vibrancy.

I am always amazed after a healing session in seeing the light and reduction of stress and lines and worries on the face of my clients. It is as if a light within has expressed itself and shines in the joy of their realizing who they are and how they feel in connecting to their own soul essence.

What are the three exercises to reconnect and relate to your body—yourself as a whole in a new healthy way?

The first exercise is Myself, Healed Imagine a lasting transformation that you would like to happen Use your senses to imagine feel hear taste and even smell your transformed self. If you heal from trauma you could feel confident connected open joyful alive trusting fearless.

The second exercise is How I Envision Myself Healed Here we have a chart where you can examine Physical Emotional Cognitive Behavioral Social and Spiritual qualities that reflect a change in how you live life…example Social Ability to feel comfortable in a variety of social situations….Comfort in participation in activities that could not previously be done….ability to stay present when engaging with others…desire for company of others….healthy balance between work and play….healthy balance “me time” and time with others.

The third exercise is Grounding and Orienting This simple but powerful grounding and calming tool will become part of your self-soothing toolbox. Sit in a comfortable supportive chair. Notice the state of your body. Are you relaxed nervous calm? Your body may feel numb, fearful, tingling, trembling, or agitated. You may notice feeling disoriented, or becoming emotional or disconnected.

Next feel your feet contacting the floor

Feel yourself sink into the chair Now look around the room. Move your head slowly as you take in your surroundings. Be aware of your breathing.

If your body takes a spontaneous deep breath, feel the exhale and notice how your body responds. It will likely feel good.

Find an image of a person smiling broadly and smile back This will have a calming effect on your nervous system and your body will begin to feel a sense of safety.

An exercise to Cope with Developmental Trauma and Strategies to Survive Trauma. The good news is your brain is pliable throughout your life and your body has an inherent imperative to heal. Trauma can color your perceptions of yourself others and the world. The adaptations patterns and behaviors you have developed were necessary to keep you safe. Sometimes these includes withdrawing from situations, rather than staying connected, zoning out, rather than remaining present, always being nice, rather than expressing how you truly feel and attending to other’s needs while not being in touch with your own. You learned these survival strategies in frightening situations such as being shamed rather than accepted, hurt rather than being comforted, ignored rather than being listened too, left alone when feeling distressed, or not held or attuned to as you needed to be to feel safe.

Over time these ways of being become familiar. Indeed, they are a normal response to embedded trauma but when in such a pattern long after the trauma is over you remain in your traumatized self. We can reprogram our minds and thoughts to recognize what happened and provide ways for the body to lean into the fear and eventually conquer it.

Every day there are reports of another tragedy loss due to floods hurricanes or fires. How do we deal with the trauma of those horrific events? can we begin to improve this situation?

Women have come to speak openly about the trauma of sexual assault and childhood abuse? How do we help heal and then prevent this abuse which has been going on in all society cultures religions forever?

The vast array of emotional physical and psychological disorders that disconnect people from their bodies vitality and others may originate beyond personal experience and your family of origin. A recent epigenetic study demonstrates trauma and its effects can be inherited from one generation to another. Your difficulties and symptoms with trauma could be inherited from your parents or grandparents, or even further back through collective trauma such as slavery racism homophobia or war related violence including genocide. You may inherit the memory epigenetically and psychologically. If trauma remains unresolved in your lineage you may experience the residual effects of that trauma symptomatically much as you would with any developmental trauma. The way your brain will develop is encode in your DNA. Experiences and environment influence the chromosomes in your DNA and how the genes express themselves and changes in them can result in positive or negative adaptations.

Though trauma can be carried for multiple generations our destinies are not set in our DNA. You can resolve trauma even when you’ve suffered it early in your life or inherited the effects of your parents and ancestor’s traumas.

How might the challenges or trauma inflicted on people of color on transgender people and immigrants be similar and or different? And how must we begin to look at these situations?

In general what are the effects of a traumatic event?

An overwhelming event such as a car accident a terminal diagnosis a fall physical abuse and emotional blow such as a divorce death or natural disaster is often referred to an acute or shock trauma.

When you experience the impact of an unexpected or very frightening event the acute trauma shocks you sending a jolt through your nervous system.

You can’t grasp the full significance at the time so it creates a trauma response in the body. As you know trauma lives in the body not the event.

Typically there is also an intense wave of emotion too intense to digest at the time and immediately afterward. You may fee intense sadness anger or rage and this may cause internal disorganization in which your body is unable to return to a state of balance. These emotions remain but are often repressed or split off from consciousness which causes disturbances in your body/mind until they are integrated

How does developmental trauma in infancy or early childhood affect you?

When your essential needs are not met when you are young it can feel dreadful inside your body then and now as the trauma is embedded throughout your body. Sadly, you didn’t know it was the environment that was insufficiently responding to you and letting you down. All you know is that you didn’t feel good inside you internalized these experiences as your owsn failures. When something bad happens, you feel it’s you who are bad. You adapt to these early life conditions with a strategy that ultimately limits your authentic self yet allows you to allow you can survive. You go through life with and inner sense of “badness” about yourself that really was not you. Or you may perceive the world as unsafe because of external circumstances dysregulating your body systems so your body feels unsafe to inhabit. Or your perception of the world and others remains stuck in survival mode and erroneous beliefs—nothing is safe, no one can be trusted and others remain stuck. You may lack self-worth or you need to fight to survive.

So developmental trauma isn’t only about what may have happened to you but what didn’t happen for you in your developing years—your essential needs weren’t met, you didn’t experience safety in your body and emotions and you couldn’t express yourself authentically in the world. You may feel shame anger or guilt and or completely shut down in response to the failure of your caregivers and environment to meet your essential needs. Typically, body motion ceases immobility and heart rate slows bradycardia with little or no sympathetic nervous system activity. You can see the shut down response in an infant child or adult with a blank face and stare. Their muscle tome may also be flaccid. The impulse to shut down is propelled by terror—its fear potentiated. This can lead to a lifetime impact of nervous system dysregulation a mind filled with unrelenting negative beliefs and feelings about yourself and the world, and bodily discomfort.

If you grew up without reliable closeness to others or shared non-verbal communication the right hemisphere’s functioning seemingly fades and you may become left hemisphere dominant, a survival strategy that denies you the ability to experience the richness of a socially and intimately engaged life, a secure feeling of safety in the body and the full range of emotions. These stressful relational perceptions of childhood are encrypted in the unconsciousness of the right brain not the left.

What would you like readers of The Body Awareness Workbook for Trauma to take away with them after reading the book?

After a shock trauma and so many of us are going to experience that in one way or another it is natural for your body to shake or tremble. Trembling is a physiological survival response a release of life force energy meant to allow your body to return to homeostasis your normal baseline of balance. When the traumatic event is over you may be frightened from the trembling or shaking and try to stop it not releasing the excess energy but the physical response is a healthy and good thing for until that survival energy is discharged or integrated into the body the energy will remain trapped at the cellular level and can impair your immune system or emotional and social capacities. For instance you may feel emotionally numb, or in a constant state of vigilance or lose interest in connecting with others. Other symptoms include anxiety depression panic intrusive thoughts and headaches. By reconnecting with the life force that remains bound within you after the trauma you’re optimizing your ability to heal and grow.

I want to thank you Dr. Julie Brown Yau author of The Body Awareness Workbook for Trauma and giving a well detailed practical definition of Developmental Trauma Acute or Shock Trauma and Intergenerational trauma along with the encouraging suggestion that the body has an inherent will to heal and you offer many exercises to address becoming well aware of your bodies energy and ways to calm relax and engage in healing thoughts and actions to restore vitality and the immune system. To read more about life force energy trauma and healing go to www.juliebrownyau.com In summarizing today’s episode of Healing From Within I hope listeners have come to understand that most people in our lives are dealing with a form of trauma from either their childhood family or an acute shock trauma and will need help psychologically physically emotionally and spiritually to heal by releasing the trapped emotions and energy within. Unfortunately many people will just expect you to get on with it don’t be a victim and put it out of your mind but the body is holding this fear and we must help the body by providing exercises as shown quite positively and effectively in this book and consistently working on ourselves to improve our health release stress allow and accept the past but not allowing the past to diminish the vibrancy and love we can create in the present moment if we realize our soul potential to weather and conquer all challenges. We can ask for help and we must know that healing is a function of mind body spirit nature. As multi-dimensional beings we possess the heart filled love to heal ourselves and our world.

Julie and I would have you know that there are many benefits to exploring your inner life and the repressed memories or fears of any developmental trauma or acute shock trauma for in finding exercises that allow you to let go of trapped energies and memories you will come to know we are souls of love and infinite possibilities and we able to heal our body mind and spirit and raise our level of awareness. • Find Forgiveness and Love by Remembering the Truth of Your Being

Hello and welcome to Healing from Within. I am Sheryl Glick your host a Reiki Master Teacher and Practitioner medium and author of Life Is No Coincidence, The Living Spirit and my soon to be released in February 2020 the third book in the trilogy A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening which share stories of modern day worldwide challenges reminding us of our infinite soul potential to understand intuition and inner soul wisdom to guide us beyond fear to secure a prosperous healthy and joyful physical life journey. I am delighted to welcome Barbara Mulvey Little, author of The Secrets Underneath and a former guest of Healing From Within who co-authored Opening Hearts: A Cardiovascular Surgeon Reflects on Faith Healing Love.

For those who would love to hear Barbara discuss the book she co authored with cardiologist Dr. Sauvage Opening Hearts ; A Cardiovascular Surgeon Reflects on Faith Healing, Love and the Meaning of Life go to my website www.sherylglick.com and go to radio page April 2018

Barbara was kind enough to edit the epilogue to my new book due out February 7, 2020 A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening and the epilogue addresses how Spirit and a channeled message from our first president George Washington directs our troubled nation to survive the confusion going on in our government, remember our values and universal goals of our ancestors in Spirit and find the way forward.

Barbara as you may remember my guests and I share intimate awareness of how energy thoughts and experiences influence how we create most of our life experiences and how with a clearer understanding of who we are, where we come from, and knowing we are more than our physical bodies, we may create the most positive joyful healthy life journey and work through challenges and limitations to conquer fear and find peace.

In today’s episode of Healing From Within Barbara Mulvey Little will share how her book The Secrets Underneath explores how our choices to love and forgive, or to hold onto anger and resentment, affect our lives. We will discover we are all the sum total of our life experiences broken in ways that need healing and that much of what happens to us is necessary for an awakening process to remember soul life and how to complete our life plan or mission in this time and in this life no matter how challenging.

Barbara when asked to remember her childhood and a person place or event that may have shown her or others the direction interests work she might engage in in adulthood tells us of the many challenges in her family…alcoholism sexism and sexual abuse from generations earlier and how she always wanted to help people heal and be a doctor, but in high school a chemistry teacher told her women were not really so inclined to be doctors. She gave up that dream but has in her writing offered great insights into the emotional physical and spiritual challenges that we all face and ways to approach healing on a multi-demensional level.

Barbara’s work with Dr Lester Sauvage who represented a holistic spiritual approach to healing his patients on all levels: mind body spirt encouraged her to finish this novel she had started years before. In this new story the main character Dr. Sean Thomas was the only surviving member of a family that was murdered as a result of domestic abuse violence by the husband/father of a police officer. Now so many years later Barbara remembered the strong faith and love for God that Dr. Sauvage ,who she worked with for years possessed. was inspired to bring his thoughts and beliefs shared with his many patients who he not only helped survive heart challenges physically, but spiritually guided them to understand more about how life and death actually work. Dr. Sauvage believed in an afterlife and took care of many patients who had near death experiences and were in that state of eternal life beyond a physical life so he knew that we have a time to come and to go and it is written in our soul story. Dr. Sauvage felt that an understanding of soul energy was essential to conquer the fears of any human challenge. These thoughts and experiences are very obvious in The Secret Underneath.

The Secrets Underneath is a story focused on murderous violence in two families and the lies and betrayals that haunt the surviving family members eventually leading to a mysterious medical condition suffered by one of the main characters, Dr. Sean Thomas. This condition allows Sean to lapse into a state where he visits another realm and encounters people in the afterlife who allow the truth to be slowly revealed. The story asks, “Can the choice to love really transform us? and can physical healing be found through forgiveness, mercy, and acceptance?” Some of the other engaging characters include Michael the 6 year old boy rescued from the car where his father murdered his mother and sister, Anna his grandmother and the Judge his grandfather, Savannah the girlfriend of Dr. Sean Thomas and CJ, an alternative energy worker as well as Faith and Quinn are important relatives in Spirit.

This story goes back and forth in time and is set up in two parts. Barbara uses two interesting epigraphs for the two parts of the book: Part 1 A quote from William Faulkner, “The past is never dead. It’s not even past.” And in Part 2 a quote from Carl Jung, “One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. These thoughts help us realize that true healing is not merely about healing the symptoms of a physical disease or disability. True healing is an understanding that we are multi-dimensional energy or spiritual beings having a physical life in order to remember and refine our spirit or soul energy. We must self-investigate to recognize the traumas or fears of our childhood: identify them and eventually let them go, as they no longer are relevant to our present moment of creating a new life and reality.

One of Sheryl’s favorite characters in the book was Faith, the sister of Michael who survived the violence of that night he murdered her and her mother due to mental illness and abuse he suffered in his childhood. Faith tried to shield her brother from death during the car crash and then came in a spiritual visitation to help Dr. Sean Thomas as well as her brother Michael as both had been damaged by abusive fathers. Was it a coincidence that all these years later Sean was there to save Michael who had suffered through the same scenario of terrifying abuse and murder? As the author of Life Is No Coincidence; The Life and Afterlife Connection Sheryl knows nothing in life is random and coincidences are the messages of the eternal creative life force of Spirit to help us navigate the world so we may begin to remember who we really are as Spiritual beings having a physical life with unlimited potential to love.

The virtue Faith shows most clearly is her loyalty and love for her brother and to the doctor who saved his life and her acceptance of her own fate and death while hoping her brother has the opportunity to live his life joyfully Barbara shares how she misses her Mother who passed about a year ago but feels her near-by in energy and hopes that one day she will see her. Barbara tells the story of being unable to be at the funeral for her nephew but saw him standing in front of her in her kitchen and was so comforted to know that in Spirit he was still able to connect to her and alleviate her sorrow for being unable to be at his funeral.

Sheryl says that as a medium she knows we are never alone as there are spiritual guides vibrational beings angels relatives or loved ones close by to each of us all the time, and when she meditates she connects to that dimension of spiritual energy and receives information that validates what is happening for her clients life and often the messages help to heal relationship problems that went unattended with loved ones while they were alive. In her new book due out February 7, 2020 A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening Sheryl shares an intimate reading with her sister Rodelle who passed from Pancreatic cancer several years ago as well as messages from our first President George Washington who like others in spirit are very troubled by the state of our nation. It is not really a political, economic, social or religious issue the world is experiencing but a disconnect from our Universal Life Force and soul needs that has diminished hope, brotherhood and our love for American freedom and justice. Please go to my website www.sherylglick.com to the book page to find out more.

Sheryl and Barbara realize how knowing that we are more than our physical body has allowed us to go beyond the pervasive fear of death and dying and has helped us find gratitude, forgiveness and greater love for each day.

Sheryl says that throughout her awakening and transformation process which became full blown about 25 years ago she has made many changes to her original thinking, attitudes, and everyday life practices for by understanding we are not merely our physical bodies but a soul energy and life force she has allowed herself to conquer many of her childhood patterns and societal belief systems which limited the use of her spiritual gifts and kept her restricted from living life boldly.

In her book The Living Spirit she wrote, “Throughout the amazing journey that followed stepping outside my comfort zone and entering a new state of life beyond the physical plane, I have learned several truths. The first is that there is indeed an afterlife: the second is that the separation between this world and the next is not a thick, impenetrable wall, but a thin veil that allows our loved ones in spirit to communicate with us, and us with them. We are never alone, but are guided by loved ones at all times. They assist us in making the choices in this life that prepare us for the next dimension, where we will encounter further support for our soul development in that world. The assistance received from spiritual influences will be in proportion to our wish for help and the effort we expend in our self-growth process in this lifetime.” Barbara in her fictional story quite clearly shows this reality at work and the benefits received by the characters who awaken to the truth of their spiritual and human nature.

Sheryl feels if Barbara could share one amazing truth of the Universe it might be that” Consciousness survives physical death and the development of our soul energy while we are living a physical life is advantageous to the afterlife experiences we will have as a result of our choices and actions in this life.

Barbara wrote,“ Love is the only thing that is eternal. Neither our pain or guilt last forever. It is only in telling you that I experience it again now. It is the experience I am willing to relive a thousand times if it helps you. I long ago forgave Jack and myself for our parts in our tragic dance. And now with you Regan and Brendan here I have offered forgiveness to them since they are now able to hear.”

This statement was said to Sean by Quinn, his mother in Spirit. Sean had struggled all his life due to the mistakes and violence that took his mother father and sister and brother’s life and left him to struggle with the trauma of violence and loss though he had never been told the real story by his aunt who raised him and so felt unloved, undervalued and so alone in life.

Forgiveness and love are available to us while we live this physical life and can be achieved even in the meeting of souls in the afterlife. No matter when we are able to let go of pain and sorrow and return to our normal soul ability to ‘be love” it resonates in the Universe as it is meant to.

In connecting to Quinn his mother in the Higher Realm of eternal life, he recognized that only by fully awakening to the power of his unconscious (soul) self would it allow him to change how he reacts to life. And he knew that his courage came from the love he was able to accept from Savannah and C.J. now in his physical life. Sean finally understood how broken everyone could be and how that brokenness defined their actions. How could he expect forgiveness in his brokenness unless he was willing to forgive the brokenness of other….the demons that are calmed only in the Light of unconditional love.

As Sean finished his thought his mother Quinn in spirit stepped back and continued….

Facing our demons facing our fears, as you have done, is life giving, forgiving those of us who couldn’t is life affirming. I wish I had awakened sooner, while I was still physically alive. You have chosen life my son and with that choice, you can heal not only yourself but so many who will cross your path. Sean felt her love and her story, her wisdom and her sorrow, and he knew she would always be a part of him. Sean had learned the value of our physical life and relationships, the need for forgiveness, and the beauty of Spirit and eternal life through his soul travels and intuitive soul essence.

Dr. Lester Sauvage Barbara and Sheryl believe the mind or memories can cause physical problems. Absolutely, many health issues are the result of lifestyle, stress, childhood traumas or abuses, and are psychosomatic . We must change our thoughts and actions to improve healthy relationships. Moving past blame fear, jealousy, greed and unhappiness ultimately low vibrational emotions and energy which ultimately will weaken the spirit and immune system. As we have moved into a technologically dominated social media lifestyle, new diseases and old ones are reemerging, and materialism and loss of our spiritual needs has affected all of us. Time to seek awareness, higher consciousness and love for life as we seek peace and harmony.

The past is only a memory but when we bring it into the present time it becomes real once again and painful hurtful memories can cause suffering and if played over and over in the mind can cause physical or emotional illness. Therefore, it is wise to retrieve memories that make you joyful and add to the quality of life.

Barbara Mulvey Little might hope readers take away with them after reading your The Secrets Underneath that as In the book Sean found the way to true healing when he opened his healing center in Spokane, In honoring his deceased mother, brother and others and as a doctor he had always wanted to relieve suffering. In this holistic center they use every medical spiritual and psychological tool available. Every part of the work is a sacred calling. To heal the whole person, one must attend to the multi-dimensional aspects of our being and by finding forgiveness and love we find the catalyst for transformation.

I want to thank you Barbara Mulvey Little author of The Secrets Underneath for sharing a most interesting journey into the forces of life here and beyond with her well -developed characters both in Spirit and in life who help us understand the traumas of childhood martial abuse and violence that affect so many people well into our adult lives. Join Sean Thomas as he searches for love and healing through a series of coincidental happenings. To read a very imaginative book of finding the beauty of life and healing all wounds of the past go to www.barbaramulveylittle.com In summarizing today’s episode of Healing From Within we have discussed a fictional tale of abuse, loss and lack of love that affected the main character Dr. Sean Thomas and how coincidentally many years later he is drawn into the same turn of events as he saves a child in a car accident helps another child who he saves from the same scenario he faced so many years before. In this journey of faith Sean Thomas was allowed the greatest gift of Universal Source to know in his heart that forgiveness leads to healing and healing to true love. We discover that there are many family secrets that if had been addressed could have led to healing for many of the people involved. But we also learn through Sean’s fainting spells and visits to the higher realms of life where he encounters deceased relatives that there is love healing and new knowledge of who we are and how we can enjoy life both here and beyond.

Barbara and I would have you know that often fiction is but a reflection of reality and truth and the awakening of our heart or soul allows us to accept all things, repair broken relationships, and look to the heavens for peace and joy in knowing we are more than this physical life and life is eternal. It may be your journey, it certainly is mine and a journey that is the only way to find love and peace.

Shery tells Jeffrey that the title and cover of his book are quite mesmerizing to her. For as a medium when Sheryl meditates and receives the whispers of higher vibrational beings loved ones angels and Universal source to help guide us to moving past fear and the materialistic ego based reality to know the multi- dimensional aspects of our eternal light being she often senses in her inner eye a mountain of light in the distance and meadows and oceans that expand beyond this physical plane and where the colors are bright and beautiful for they are unhindered by the fear of the denser physical world where survival is often the main agenda. The cover looks like a higher world of eternal light.

The theme of the book is about the Power of Love and it’s transformative ability to help one on their journey of self-discovery and enlightenment. Sarah the main character learns by the loving dedicated teachings of her grandparents that the power of love drives the entire universe from the sun rising to setting and an acorn the size of a nickel transforming into a towering majestic oak tree.

One of Sheryl’s favorite characters was the Owl who sat with a scowl which Jeffrey suggested might be his smile and he might be inviting you to visit him in his home in the forest and instead of being scared we might recognize that things are not always what they seem and if we have a positive thought it is more likely things will go well.

Jeffrey ends the book with these words which I enjoyed. “Then from the depths of this deep, dark primordial forest whispering to the hushed calm surrender in the harmonious rhythm of the night came the callings…hoot…hoot, hoot, hoot, hoot! When translated from perfect smiling owl speak to the perfectly aligned with the powers of the entire universe human speak means love… love… love… love… love!

Poppy Sarah’s grandfather taught Sarah about fishing and nature?

Jeffrey wrote, “After a satisfying lunch, Poppy Tom explained to Sarah in a loving mentoring manner, “Granddaughter please know that fishing is a privilege and a very responsible thing to do. We must respect the environment in which the brook trout and all wildlife live. Nature is their home and we’re only visiting. The brook trout need very clean cool water to be happy. I noticed that there’s a place where flooding has caused a washout, allowing dirt and rocks to enter the brook. If we expect there always to be many happy healthy brook trout, then we must also always keep the brook in which they live healthy. So Hollie and I would like you to help us make repairs to the bank of the brook.”

Sheryl says that it seems the world and its people are in the process of awakening as world events and rapid changes are leading us to evaluate our materialistic obsessions and the needs of our inner world of spiritual energy or soul essence. When we work in alignment to both we know the world and ourselves and our reason for being and can make the changes so necessary at this tipping point in human history. It is not a political economic social issue, it is a spiritual emptiness and need to remember who we are and how life is intended to be lived in harmony with each other and the planet. In my new book A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening we find if we pay attention that we are indeed more than our body and have the potential and opportunities to grow learn and live a happy healthy life but it takes self-investigation and self-mastery of emotions for us to access the divine spark of love that is within each of us.

A lovely poem that Poppy Tom and Grandma Jennie worked on together for Sarah’s 7th birthday follows:

    The poem goes like this

To The Light of the World

Allow us to say with all of our hearts, Treasure each day from the moment it starts.

Look for the good and never the bad, Be happy to those who are sad.

We know there are No Limits to what you can do,

So go out and discover worlds that are new.

Later when Sarah and Poppy Tom are going through the Dark Woods he tells her, “ My darling granddaughter, I promise you will find a bright new shiny world at the end of these Dark Woods and at the other end of any dark places you’ll ever have to through in your life as long as you look for the good and never the bad, are brave and believe that there are no limits to what you can do. Remember your poem, Sarah.

Sarah tells Poppy Tom that she knows her grandmother in spirit. Grandma Jenny can see her walk, Sarah tells her family that she doesn’t see her but feels her. Jeffrey writes, It’s a feeling, Poppy. It’s like when you’re cold and your mommy puts a fuzzy blanket over you and everything gets nice and warm and cuddly. Then I see lines from my poem. Not like the real poem that I keep in my pocket, but one that is behind my eyes when I have them closed. You know you can see things even when you have your eyes closed, right? Just like you taught me to see things using my imagination. When I close my eyes I can see the lines and they are written very pretty and fancy, just like Grandma Jennie wrote. That’s how I know it’s her. Nobody writes as pretty as Grandma Jennie. When she’s by me a pretty smell comes too, Pops. It’s kind of like the way your bright shiny secret fishing spot smells all light and breezy…. Mommy Daddy these roses smell just like it does when Grandma Jennie comes to hug me.

Sheryl who is a medium says that she knows for a fact that our loved ones in Spirit are not far away at all as the energy of life and the past present and future are happening simultaneously and part of our energy may be in one place while part in another. Life and energy are eternal and consciousness survives physical death and Sheryl when she meditates to receive information from her clients sees, hears feels and smells much of what spiritual souls wish to share with us.

Sarah tells us about her nickname and how she got it. Her nickname is Sarah Nigh in the Gale Sarah tells how the smiling faces come in the night and help her have an out of body experience where she visits other children who are sad and anxious and she shares a part of her poem given to her by her grandparents so spirit has given her a gift of healing to share with others and she helps them become the Lights of the Whole Wide World so their frowns and fears can run away.

One of Sarah’s favorite places in the story might be Grandma Jennie’s Mountain of the Singing Trees. She loved to play among the wildflowers whose fragrances made her nose all tingly and at that time her mother out there in nature taught her how to grow corn beans and squash. Her people called these vegetables The Three Sisters and they were a very important food source for her people. She also learned to make pretty baskets and do beading work on their clothing.

Sheryl really didn’t know Sarah had a physical challenge at the beginning of the story. Sarah had muscular dystrophy and by her grandparents teaching her about the higher worlds or dimensions of life they helped her realize there was help from above as well as from those here on earth and that there was a bigger view of who we are and why difficult challenges present themselves during the course of our lives.

Sheryl says it seems many children are very sensitive to the guides and souls that surround us all offering guidance and support as we navigate the physical challenges of a three dimensional physical world. Of course many adults find this dimension of eternal life forces well into their adulthood. I knew it as a child but never quite realized that there was an afterlife and that souls were always around me or that I was using my intuition or inner guidance system to make choices that helped myself or others…I now believe many people whether aware of this life force of creation helping us or not we are all benefiting for completing the mission or journey through life that we decided on as souls beyond and before taking on a physical life.

Sheryl thanks Jeffrey Antonucci author of Deep Within A Blueberry Sky for a sensitive story of finding reams of life and love within relationships, family and nature and spiritual beauty in growing aware of our own human and divine potential to thrive and achieve success no matter the spiritual emotional or physical challenge we deal with.

In summarizing today’s episode of healing From Within we have talked about the special journey of a young girl Sarah who had a loving family help her find the special strength within her soul being that allowed her to conquer the fears of a physical health issue that had her confined to a wheelchair but was able to access her imagination encouraged by the love of her grandfather and grandmother in Spirit who guided her to find her own connection to Spirit the beauty of the world here and beyond and achieve a form of spiritual awareness and communication which helped her and others to know that we are more than our physical body and life has layers and layers of beauty and wisdom if we move past the fear and limitations of any challenge to climb the mountain of our own dreams.

Jeffry and I offer you the truth of what this life has to offer and it is quite simply to remember who you are as the light and love of an eternal universe of magic and miracles ever changing and always available to those who see past the ordinary to the extraordinary.
