  • Embrace the Idea of Living Now

Welcome to Healing From Within I am your host Sheryl Glick author of my newest book in the trilogy A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening which shares stories showing us our challenges are not simply economic political or societal just a spiritual disconnect from our true being or soul wisdom and the laws of Universal Source. I am delighted to welcome Zen Honeycutt, Executive Director of Moms across America on how to ensure our food is free of contaminants.

As listeners of Healing From Within are well aware Sheryl and her guests share intimate experiences and insights as we try to improve the quality of health, emotional balance and a greater awareness of how energy and all aspects of physical and energetic life work together to help us in our personal and collective world growth. The more knowledge we gather about human challenges the more we are able to find solutions to improve the quality of life.

In today’s episode of Healing From Within Zen Honeycutt will share how to ensure our food is free from contaminants. As the world population has soared, water and food sources must be protected and improved.

Our current agrochemical food system allows hundreds of millions of pounds of glyphosate herbicides to be sprayed on our food crops every year. These herbicides have been found to contain heavy metals such as arsenic. Is there another way to protect the crops without using these contaminants?

We can and must avoid toxic baby foods and find the best foods for babies and young children. Avoid rice is at the top of the list because it has extremely high concentrations of inorganic arsenic. Arsenic is a natural element found in soil, water and air. Because rice is grown submerged in water, it is especially good at absorbing inorganic arsenic, the most toxic form. Because the milling process used to create white rice removes the outer layers, where much of the arsenic concentrates, white rice has less arsenic than brown and wild rice.

Still, in the Healthy Babies analysis, four of seven rice cereals tested contained the most toxic form of arsenic in levels higher than the FDA’s proposed action level of 100 parts per billion (ppb).

“Rice cereal has six times more arsenic than other types of cereal, like oatmeal and multi-grain,” Houlihan said.

Toxic heavy metals damaging to your baby’s brain development are likely in the baby food you are feeding your infant, according to a new investigation published Thursday.

Tests of 168 baby foods from major manufacturers in the US found 95% contained lead, 73% contained arsenic, 75% contained cadmium and 32% contained mercury. One fourth of the foods contained all four heavy metals.

Lead screening guidelines for children, pregnant women changed by task force One in five baby foods tested had over 10 times the 1-ppb limit of lead endorsed by public health advocates, although experts agree that no level of lead is safe.

The results mimicked a previous study by the Food and Drug Administration that found one or more of the same metals in 33 of 39 types of baby food tested.

Seems necessary to feed the baby pureed organic foods.???

Moms Across America have launched the Mom’s Across America Gold Standard and one of the criteria for being awarded the Gold Standard is to have passed testing for heavy metals. They say they can’t wait for the government to do the right thing (example the EPA’s battle with California on labeling of products containing glyphosate and the USDA’s recent proposal to allow agricultural corporations to self-determine the safety of products) so Mom’s Across America has developed a stringent, 3-tier seal of approval that will assure consumers that the product they are buying and eating meets the highest, purest standards of safety and health for consumers and the environment.

The good news is that we can make changes in our own lives and influence the way our food is grown with every forkful we eat. Women make 90% of the household purchases. We control the consumer purchasing power, not the corporations. Think about it—the chemical companies only have the money they have because we give it to them when we buy food grown with chemicals. If we don’t buy, they can’t sell it!

Speaking tours have taken you to Australia New Zealand Japan Switzerland China Maui France the Hague and across mainland America and Sheryl asks Zen which countries are dealing more effectively with this issue of eliminating toxic elements into food production. Zen tells us the European countries are doing better than the United States in providing healthier foods to their citizens as there are more small personal farms and not huge conglomerates that utilize technology in extreme measures to produce large amounts of food.

What causes environmental toxicity? Many j are contributing factors to toxins in food, water and our environment. Some questions have been answered online by doctors to give us some idea of what we are dealing with.

We are exposed to many different toxins from our environment. There are toxins in our food supply, in household items such as furniture, particle board, bedding, mattresses, and in our air. What are ways environmental toxins can enter the body?

Environmental toxins can enter our body through various ways. Through our skin, the food we eat, the water we drink, the air we breathe and through cleaning products that we use in the home as well as beauty products that we put on our skin.

What are the risk factors for being exposed to environmental toxins?

Everyone is exposed to environmental toxins on a daily basis. Some people are at greater risk based on their hobbies, occupational exposures, and personal habits. In addition, some people have decreased ability to detoxify these chemicals, which increases their risk of disease.

What are ways to avoid environmental toxicity? There is no way to completely avoid exposure to toxins, but you can absolutely make choices every day to decrease your exposure.

    • Do not wear your shoes in the house. (Most household dirt, pesticides, and lead comes into your house on your shoes.)
    • Open your windows frequently to ventilate. Indoor air pollution is significantly higher than outdoor air pollution.
    • Avoid air fresheners that are petroleum based and contain endocrine disruptors.
    • Dust at least once a week, as pesticides and allergens are carried in dust.
    • Obtain a shower filter. Many contaminants in tap water are aerosolized in hot water.
    • Choose green (natural) beauty and cleaning products at home.
    • Avoid personal fragrance, cologne, perfume, body creams, etc. with the word fragrance on the label. These contain phthalates, which are hormone disruptors.

I am confused. You started to choose organic fruits and vegetables from the “Dirty Dozen” list. Can you further explain this?

The Environmental Working Group tests fruits and vegetables annually for levels of pesticides and herbicides and then creates a “Dirty Dozen list” and a “Clean 15” list. Unfortunately, in 2013 the Dirty Dozen list was actually increased to 15. Instead of going through the expense of your exposure to pesticides.

Where can you get the “Dirty Dozen” list? www.ewg.org Are there diseases and conditions linked to environmental toxicity?

There are many conditions now being linked to environmental exposure including cancer, respiratory diseases (asthma), neurological diseases (Parkinson disease and multiple sclerosis), endocrine problems (thyroid), diabetes and obesity.

I know that environmental toxins definitely affect one’s health and will be looking forward to what is covered on here. How do you test for them concerning health issues I have, like fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, heart disease and pulmonary disease? I am always wondering how toxins might have played a part in these.

We can absolutely test for various toxic exposures through blood and urine tests mostly recommended by integrative medicine physicians. As we know, everyone is toxic. We can access someone’s individual toxic load by history and don’t always need to test, which can be expensive. We can do therapeutic cleanses with people depending on their individualized needs. Certainly, exposure to these environmental toxins has known health effects. However, when we think about fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue in addition to chronic exposure, I often think about leaky gut syndrome. An integrative medicine consult might be appropriate to assess all possible causes of complicated medical problems. Isn’t eating a whole food, plant-based diet more protective against pesticides and other environmental toxins than eating our standard American diet consisting of animal products and all that comes with them?

When we’re talking about environmental exposure via our food then absolutely eating a more whole food, plant-based diet with many phytonutrients from fruits and vegetables is protective. (Think of the rainbow—the phytonutrients are in the colors of the skin of the produce.) It’s important to eat less animal protein and more plant protein. However, if you choose to eat animal protein, it should be sustainably raised without antibiotics or hormones and pastured (grass-fed) instead of grain fed. It is as important what you choose to eat—as what you choose not to eat—in avoiding toxins. You should obtain the highest nutrient-dense diet that supports health and detoxification.

Most importantly eating a more whole food, plant-based anti-inflammatory diet will support health. If finances permit, it is ideal to choose sustainably raised (grass-fed, and hormone- and antibiotic-free) animal products, and choose organic fruits and vegetables from the “Dirty Dozen” list. If that is not possible, it is still highly recommended to eat nine to 11 servings of fruits and vegetables daily of diverse color and variety to obtain your phytonutrients and antioxidants.

Unfortunately, both coffee and tea are heavily sprayed with pesticides. I highly recommend choosing only organic coffee and tea. In addition, know that the decaffeinating process is typically done with chemicals. I recommend looking for natural water decaffeination for your coffee.

You had mentioned to stop drinking bottled water and opt for filtered tap water instead. Not only will you lower your risk of possible chemicals and bacteria, but you will also reduce plastic waste and the burden on your wallet. In the Cleveland area, if requested, would the water department provide the consumer with an analysis of the tap water or would one have to hire an independent company to provide this? What type of filter for the tap would you recommend?

The 5 keys to safe food:

    • Aside from ensuring the cleanliness of the food, it is also important to make sure that personal hygiene is followed. One must clean his or her hands before, during, and after preparing meals. It is also important to properly sanitize all surfaces and equipment necessary in food preparation. This is to prevent any dangerous microorganisms from contaminating the materials used.

Make sure that there are no harmful chemicals in the vicinity of the kitchen area. If it cannot be helped, just be sure to clearly label these chemicals to avoid them being mistaken for any other product.

Virus heightens heat wave health risks, U.N. warns

The World Meteorological Organization urges governments to make plans to keep people safe during heat waves without spreading the novel coronavirus
    • Separate raw and cooked The juices of raw food – meat, poultry, and seafood – often contain harmful microorganisms. These may be transferred to other food during preparation and even when stored.

It is important to separate them from other food types to prevent cross-contamination. They can be kept in storages tailored for such types of food. In addition, utensils such as knives and cutting boards used in handling raw food should also be sanitized before being used again. If you can afford it, it is suggested that you buy another set for another purpose, such as storing cooked pieces of meat.
    • Cook thoroughly Proper cooking is one way to “kill” all possible harmful microorganisms in raw food. To be successful in eliminating the dangerous components, it is important to maintain a temperature of 70 degrees Celsius as it can help ensure the cooked food is safe for consumption. When cooking soup, it is safe for it to boil to ensure it has reached the required temperature. When it comes to meat, make sure there are no visible “juices” and no trace of pink anymore. It is recommended to use a thermometer.

According to WHO, the type of food that needs special attention when cooking are: minced meats, large joints of meat, and even whole pieces of poultry.
    • Keep food at safe temperatures In some cases, microorganisms can reproduce and spread quickly at room temperature. The safest way to store food is in temperatures below 5 degrees Celsius and above 60 degrees Celsius as the growth can be slowed down or better yet, stopped. It is best not to leave food at room temperature for more than two hours. If not consumed, cooked and perishable food should be refrigerated immediately.

Meanwhile, it is important to serve food piping hot (or above 60 degrees Celsius) to ensure that it is properly cooked and free of bad microorganisms.
    • Use safe water and raw materials

It is easy to contaminate water and raw materials with harmful microorganisms and chemicals. One should be mindful and use safe water and raw materials in either cooking or consuming food.

If unsure, it is best to treat the water first by either boiling or cleaning using filters. Meanwhile, raw fruits and vegetables should be checked for bruises or molds. If these are minimal, it can be removed by cutting the part off.

In addition, expired food should not be consumed anymore. It should be thrown away when the expiration date has passed as it can contribute to health risks for the entire family.

Access to proper food needed Preventing food contamination is easy as being alert and conscious of the harm of unsanitary food handling are the only skills one needs. However, it is undeniable that there are Filipinos who have problems in accessing safe water, in addition to not having adequate food. The lack of options leave them with nothing but diseases: malnutrition, diarrhea, and other food-borne illnesses. (READ: A thirsty world and the PH water problem ) –Rappler.com

We thank Zen Honeycutt for discussing a most important approach to caring for ourselves, our children and family by knowing more about the contaminants that can be found in our everyday food source and how to make selections that can better protect from these harmful toxins.

In summarizing today’s episode we have taken the time to remember that to protect our health it is important to provide for ourselves and our families food and water and be in environments that try to eliminate the toxic metals that have become so prevalent in providing enough crops to sustain the large worldwide populations. We must aim to reduce as many contaminants as possible and work to help others become knowledgeable about practices and the selection of food that can assist in providing the best quality of health possible.

Zen and I would like you to know whatever challenges we are facing in regard to viruses or contaminants in our food or our environment. We do not want you to fear any of it, but hope we can educate ourselves to the best of our ability and make better choices to assist in a healthier quality of life.

  • How to Cure Illness Using a Subconscious Mind

Welcome to Healing From Within I am your host Sheryl Glick Reiki Master Energy Teacher medium and author of A New Life Awaits: Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening which shares stories of our connection to eternal Universal Life Force Energy that reminds us when accessed that we are capable of creating wonderful experiences and miracles by improving our thoughts actions, conquering fear and negativity and becoming aware of how we are interconnected to all of life and must remember our highest goal is to know love in its many aspects. Today I welcome a former guest Minister Rev. Keiko Hoshino who is the Publishing Director for the U.S. branch of Happy Science IRH Press and represents the spiritual ideas and values of Master Ryoho Okawa author of The Resurrection who suffered a severe life threatening episode and miraculously healed using the power of his will and subconscious mind.

Rev Hoshino is a past guest of Healing From Within and if listeners would like to hear the last show we shared together they may go to my website www.sherylglick.com radio page December 2019 The topic was Common Spiritual Wisdom for Creating Peace and Oneness.

As listeners of Healing From Within are well aware Sheryl and her guests share intimate experiences into the world of energy and metaphysics as we conquer the illusions of the physical realm and reclaim our divinity or eternal soul wisdom so we may create healthier lives and restore our communities to more positive behaviors respecting the interconnectivity of all life.

In today’s episode of Healing From Within Rev Hoshino will share the story of Ryoho Okawa who suffered at the age of 47 a life altering experience which is represented in the film “ Immortal Hero” This movie has currently received 29 awards from 6 countries. Available to watch on VOD (www.immortal-hero.com).

Storyline: Makoto Mioya, a highly successful Japanese author and publisher, has a life-threatening, near-death experience. Powerful spiritual beings with whom he has communicated most of his adult life visit Makoto to remind him he has the power within to heal himself.

Reborn, Makoto commits his life to sharing the almighty wisdom he receives from the spiritual realm. As doubters, including some of his own family, challenge and question his new-found ardor, Makoto must find a way to connect with his family and to inspire a better world

Much happened in Okawa Okawa’s life before he wrote his book The New Resurrection showing how he became aware of self healing after many years of communication with his spiritual guides.

This movie focuses on the main character’s internal conflict which arises as he progresses through the various stages of his life, starting from the time when he resigns from his job and becomes a best-selling author; he then marries and builds a family with children; and his work gradually expands. In that sense, this movie is not only an autobiographical episode of a religious leader’s life, but also about the weight of responsibilities carried by middle-aged people who are at an age to fill managerial positions. So, I believe many people can empathize with this movie. Perhaps people who have suffered a severe illness in their 40s, who are unsure whether they can return to their job after being discharged from the hospital, may sympathize by watching the movie also.

The movie steps in a little deeper and Personally, Okawa saw himself as a religious leader because he was able to receive spiritual messages, but at the same time, he also saw himself as a bestselling author, and so did the majority of the public too. At that time, there was a part of Okawa which thought that it would help to be known as a writer first, to gain popularity and attract more people. In those days, there used to be a list of the highest taxpayers that was published annually. So I often applied to the ‘Writer’ category, but every time, I was put under the ‘Other’ category instead. Usually, artists and cultural figures are classified into this group. Their reason for placing me in the ‘Other’ category was because I not only wrote books, but also gave lectures and did other types of activities.

In a way, any new religion tends to have a bad reputation, so Happy Science has been working very hard to transform the impression into a positive one. Since new religions were received quite poorly in Japan after World War II, it was not easy to promote religious activities. This was true even during the days I was employed.

Sheryl tells Keiko that recently she received an e-mail from a man who he wanted me to do a show with: a healer he found very authentic who lived in Japan. Somehow I mentioned that I had done several shows with representatives from Happy Science discussing Ryoho Okawa’s books for the most part that I found to be representative of the many truths I have garnished from Spirit as an intuitive healer and medium mystic or seeker of metaphysical understanding. He said people in Japan were not happy with Okawa’s religious ideas. Sheryl sees his work more as a spiritual awareness of energy, Source the Divine or the creative force of life and like the Buddhist or other Eastern philosophies a way to live the healthiest and most joyful life while here and then beyond.

Sheryl personally didn’t see Okawa’s writings as a religion but as a spiritual understanding of Universal Energy and a plan for living a purposeful healthy happy life much like her own writings and work as A Reiki Master Teacher and medium. Okawa also mentions the following..” Like so, the doctors and I had widely differing opinions. We simply knew that there was something wrong (with my body). He needed to find a way for healing his body and by then, had already received messages from the guiding spirits of Jesus Christ and Edgar Cayce who both told him that he would leave the hospital in a week to ten days’ time. With that in mind, I was lightheartedly preparing my next project while I was still hospitalized. But the people around me were the exact opposite. Sheryl also has received guidance from those guides and considers herself aligned to their messages of love and healing.

Keiko tells us more about the Happy Science philosophy and the “four fundamental teachings” of Love, Wisdom, Self-reflection and Progress. Anyone living every day in accordance with these core values regardless of gender, ethnicity, or religion can attain happiness.

Love – Love without asking for anything in return. Love that gives is the foundation of happiness Wisdom -Learn to distinguish good from evil in all things by correcting negative thoughts and actions. Self-reflection- Purify the mind and restore the true self by correcting negative thoughts and actions. Progress -Make concrete efforts to create a happy society while improving one’s own character

In understanding the actual problem of Okawa’s heart we learn more about the powerful Universal Healing energy and how he was healed.

To the doctors, It was impossible for me to have been alive In any case, after the doctors saw the results from all the tests they did, they said to me, “It is impossible for a normal person to be alive in the condition that you’re in.” I had no idea what they were saying. That’s because I was perfectly fine until the day before. It is true I experienced some sensations that resembled a crow digging its claws into me and clutching my heart, but as soon as I started listening to Buddha’s Teaching: The Dharma of the Right Mind, the sensation disappeared. So, I thought I was cured.

Myocardial infarction, heart failure, Pulmonary edema, silent angina pectoris…

Either way, that’s how I became hospitalized.

Even the doctors seemed confused. They were saying all sorts of things. I understood what a myocardial infarction or heart attack was, but they mentioned a list of unfamiliar medical terms, including heart failure and pulmonary edema. They explained that I had a heart failure since my heart wasn’t contracting, and pulmonary edema because my lungs were filled with water. On top of that, I was also diagnosed with angina pectoris but a ‘silent’ angina pectoris. I presume they called it ‘silent’ angina pectoris because I kept on insisting that I experienced no pain. But it made me wonder if ‘having no pain’ is even a symptom that can be called an illness. If that’s the case, a ‘silent’ heart attack may exist, but that’s what the doctor diagnosed me as having. It is important to know that Okawa’s doctors did not think his experience was a near death experience. As a result, they attempted to change the plot so it was in line with the standards of worldly medical knowledge and tried to make it as though I had a near-death experience. I explained to them that I did not have a near-death experience and then I was told I was already dead since no one with all my problems could still be living.

Aside from an unusual illness Okawa also had an unusual marriage from start to finish with a woman with very different spiritual values.

Okawa writes, “When we first got married, we somehow managed to get along with each other despite some conflicts here and there. But as Happy Science grew, the contradictions in our faith began to show. My wife at the time had not only a firm “religious faith,” but also “academic faith” and “medical faith.” These three were firmly implanted in her. It is true that new religions were frowned upon after World War II in Japan, so people could not be open about their faith at the time. As for my marriage, my former wife’s parents agreed to take me because my educational background and income were good, and they judged that I’m not a crazy person since I’ve had a career working at a trading company in New York and was appreciated in a worldly aspect.

I was not at that time perceived as a religious leader but after Okawa’s own miraculous energetic healing he led his organization towards understanding Universal healing and his wife having many people in the medical profession had trouble understanding much less accepting the reality of Spiritual Healing.

Even her friends seemed to suggest that I was not a regular religious leader, having graduated from the University of Tokyo, written books, and lived in New York. In this way, she probably had three faiths: religious faith, academic faith, and medical faith.

For Sheryl Reiki Master Teacher the miraculous power that transcends medical science is Reiki or spiritual healing. Reiki or any other form of connection to Universal Energy is the creative force of life in the Universe that is around and within us and we are part of the force of life. Reiki or Spiritual Healing is an ancient healing art that channels this energy through a trained practitioner who accepts the responsibility for their own development and to help others attain higher levels of consciousness and awareness.

Master Okawa and Sheryl hope that the ancient healing methods are aligned with allopathic or western medicine for best results.

True healing is related to a connection between the mind’s health and illness. Some kind of faith in medicine is becoming more and more established today, while religion has greatly detached from medicine. In the past, religions were greatly involved in curing illnesses and new religions were the same as well. But Western medicine started to win as people began thinking that the chance of recovering at a hospital was higher and more effective. When medicine is regarded as a part of science, both the advancement of science and the decline of magic seems to occur together at the same time.

This has created a world where people think that new religions do not cure illness, and it puts Okawa in a difficult position. That is why he did not actively engage in curing illness until after his own illness. It seems the more our religious organization gains spiritual power like a magnet, some people can become spiritually connected (to the heavenly world) just by having those chances. For example, it may happen when someone who had been strongly against Happy Science—even against their own family members who are our believers—to suddenly have God’s light enter them the moment that they accept Happy Science. It can happen.

The bigger and stronger the spiritual power of our organization and any group or individual becomes, the more of such phenomena are likely to occur.

Even Okawa couldn’t believe it myself; He understood when he heard about people being cured from an illness after watching a Happy Science movie, but recently, heard that people are recovering just by receiving a Happy Science flier.

Belief and trust in the Universal plan and an understanding that we are eternal beings of life and conscious survives physical death are the keys to success in this life and in the Afterlife.

Okawa writes, “The same is true for spiritual messages. I already had faith in God and Buddha since I was a child, and I believed that the afterlife, spirits, and paranormal phenomena existed. However, I noticed a tremendous difference before and after I actually started to receive direct messages from spirits.

Even if I say that they are direct messages from spirits, I am sure there are many fake ones out in the world. That is why I published a large number of spiritual message books. When you listen to the recordings of the spiritual messages, you might feel that the voices are the same as they are spoken through me. But by transcribing them and putting them into text, people have been able to identify the difference in the way each spirit speaks. They could see their unique characters, and really tell that they are the spirits of the person they said they were. These experiences have certainly helped deepen faith greatly. We started to strengthen what Other religions were already doing.

In this way, my new resurrection was when I took another leap from the time I attained the ability to receive spiritual messages. As Happy Science started curing illness, which is what other older traditional or newer religions were already doing, we were able to strengthen what we didn’t focus on and make it stronger. Until this point, our activities were focused mainly on spreading our books that taught about how to improve one’s mind to live an honest and sincere life. From such a level, Happy Science took a significant step forward into doing what religions would usually do and making it our standard. This was a great development

In the movie Immortal Hero, Makoto Mioya’s wife was supportive of her husband’s work only while his focus was on the idea of using one’s will to lead a meaningful and successful life, such as the book, The Laws of Success. However, once Makoto began talking about curing illness and healing people, she could no longer accept it and she felt he had crossed the line. Like so, I sense that there are various stages of faith in real life.

Also, it seems “academics” was standing in her way. Oftentimes, academics could take over people’s religious faith. Instead of it creating individuals with qualities like god, it creates many “little gods” based on the level of academic intelligence. So the higher the educational background people attain, the likelier it is for them to lose faith. As a result, they will become self-centered, and have a strong sense of wanting people to ‘have faith in them.’

Sheryl says that as a Reiki Master Teacher during sessions she helps clients connect to their own soul energy and receive the downloading of healing energy that also changes people’s perspectives opening them up to new ways of viewing themselves and life. Sheryl has seen that many are able to heal using natural methods of meditation, prayer walking in nature and releasing negativity and toxins, fears and misbeliefs, and remembering they are spiritual beings living at the moment a physical life. Sheryl often tells her clients that whatever illness or challenge they are experiencing is manufactured by their soul to allow for new opportunities to grow and expand their human potential. No one has any disease …it is a necessary part of overcoming some issues of the soul to refine that energy and go beyond being stuck . It is not the energy healer or doctor that cures anyone but the soul’s adherence to their life plan and destiny and their own ability to connect to Spirit and allow for healing to transform them. You can be intellectually astute, but unaware of your true nature as a spiritual being having a physical life, until you know that truth life is a duality and unity is the only way to achieve success both in the physical and spiritual realms.

In her new book A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening Sheryl shares this thought,

“This event would not be understood until many years later when I would discover the truth of who I am…who we all are. We are all beings of divine energy and physical possibilities at the same time. Ultimately, this discovery has helped me to accept the loss of my father and other loved ones, as I know we will all be reunited beyond life. People involved in the study of metaphysics, psychology, quantum physics, and energy healing help others discover the truth about their soul longevity, allowing them to remember the eternal unbroken chain of life here and in Spirit. We do not have to wait to be beyond our physical life to realize the enormity of our soul’s ability to bridge the gap between the two worlds of finite and infinite being. We are part of the endless circle of life.’

Master Ryoho Okawa might like readers of The New Resurrection and those who see his new movie” Immortal Hero” to take away with them the following:

Okawa wrote, “Life in the end is about what you choose. You have to choose one from many things, so you will have to abandon something to gain another thing. Each time, you would ask yourself, “What should I abandon and what should I choose.” If your boat were to sink, you would throw out all your valuable items. So the question is, “What is the last thing you will keep?” In this way, the teachings of ‘Today is my whole life’ and ‘Die for the Truth’ are very important. In other words be responsible to your own values and needs and choose what is right for your life

In summarizing today’s episode of Healing From Within we have discussed a spiritual master’s journey to discover within himself the power of healing and loving life as each of us is capable of doing, if we pay attention to the guidance of Spirit, as they lead us to remember we are spiritual beings having a physical life journey to experience the full range of emotions and challenges and ultimately hopefully to find the soul within our physical bodies and know the eternal nature of our Being. I believe we have a time to enter this world and a time to leave but while we are here we must live each day and moment, not worry about the future, for in doing that we forget to enjoy the moment. We are also here in this life to find the Light that we are and while Okawa was recovering in the hospital after his very serious life challenge years ago he wrote the following poem.

    A RAY OF LIGHT

    On a cold morning,
When the sky is grey and dull
    You may feel down, depressed,
And desperate to escape the day.
You may be shaken by feelings of
    Anxiety and hopelessness by a
    miserable start to the day.
I’m sure there are many who feel this way.
    But
The moment a ray of bright light
Breaks through the clouds from the sky And shines in,
    The world changes dramatically.
    Everything changes dramatically.
    Trees shine in brilliant green,
And flowers would smile and begin to greet.

This is the power of faith.
This is the great mercy of God.
Shine a ray of light in your heart also.
You, yourself, must become a ray of light.

Rev Keiko Hoshino Master Ryoho Okawa and I would like you to know beyond the shadow of a doubt as we have absorbed this truth into our soul essence remembering the message of life and love as a gift from the Creative Force of Universal Life to bring Heaven to Earth in all the moments of our days so may you receive and share this gift also.

Welcome to Healing From Within I am your host Sheryl Glick author of my newest book in the trilogy A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening which shares stories and messages from Spirit that show us that our challenges are not merely economic political or societal just a spiritual disconnect from our true being or soul wisdom. I am delighted to welcome Kris Francoeur, author of Of Grief, Garlic and Gratitude which approaches grief with the realities and honest account of living with grief, offering healing and hope, without necessarily relying on religion, formal psychotherapy or pharmaceutical resources. A novel approach for people who struggle with mental health issues and addiction.

As listeners of “Healing From Within” have come to expect over the years Sheryl and her guests explore and answer questions about the origin of life and death to find the metaphysical aspects of our dual nature as spiritual beings having a physical life as we support energy and the Universal Source for continued expansion and creation. It is through knowing more about who we are that we can handle the challenges, sorrows and joys as well as the opportunities for personal and collective growth through our experiences and learn greater compassion and love for life.

In today’s episode of “Healing From Within” Kris Francoeur shares a deeply moving memoir honoring her 20 year old son Sam whose untimely death launched her need to search deeply within to deal with the complexity of grief and sorrow. Kris Francoeur is the author of three romance novels using her pen name Anna Belle Rose and lives in Addison County Vermont with her husband and youngest son, a small flock of alpaca, chickens and several hives of bees and the rest of her family and friends.

When Sheryl asks Kris to think back to her childhood and a person, place or experience that might have shown her or others the lifestyle or interests she might value as an adult she immediately remembers her grandmother whose name she honors for the fictional books she has written. Her grandmother encouraged in her a sense of being able to do whatever she needed to do from within her heart values and for Kris it was writing. It was the unconditional love and acceptance she received from her grandmother that also sustained her in dealing with the untimely transition of her son Sam.

In the prologue of your book you say your life is divided into two parts by a glaringly clear line. The first part was anything before October 9, 2013 and the other, everything after. This book is about the after. But we go back and start by learning more about Kris and her family and specifically your son Sam.

Sheryl likes the paragraph that describes Sam from his earliest days and Kris wrote,

“The first thing anyone noticed about Sam even at a few days old was that he didn’t sleep: he was eerily aware of everything. Perhaps his soul had always known his time would be short so he didn’t waste time sleeping too much. Sam loved his older brother and sister and would look at them intensely. Within a short period of time Sam started talking. He could talk in full sentences long before he could walk. And he would start a conversation with every person he met—I mean every single person. When he was a toddler and we’d walk up the street all the adults would say, “Hi Sam.”

Everywhere we went with Sam we had to keep an eye on him because he would wander off to have a conversation or joy of joys to meet someone new. Sam also could be very stubborn and controlling.

Sheryl suggests Sam was a sensitive child gifted by Spirit with a goodness and love for life that could not be easily tapped down. Many people labeled with issues that affect their physical or mental well being are simply souls having trouble grounding their immense energy into a physical body and life. Labels do little to truly appreciate the uniqueness of each soul being.

Kris shares with us as the days passed after Sam’s transition many of his friends came to tell her how they had received impressions thoughts synchronicities or messages from Sam and Kris shared this on FaceBook which began a way to share this new awareness of life surviving physical death which she was not fully aware of before the loss of her son. While Kris had used Facebook a bit prior to her loss, it somehow became a major means to communicating after.

In Kris life as a professional writer writing romance novels, the happily ever after stories in her personal life, she found that finding joy where and every moment you can, pushing others to do the same and loving as fiercely as possible became a new reality for her and her loved ones.

Sheryl says she has found in her search for the truth of our actual being an understanding of our energetic eternal soul essence much the same as Kris need to love fiercely and in her new book A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening Sheryl wrote in regard to love and life in all realms the following… “I grew up in a time when there were peace movements along with world concerns for idealistic approaches to living well and where personal fulfillment was a valued commodity. But always, we brought the precious values of our ancestors in Spirit with us, which positively affected our decision-making process and added to our spiritual awakening. So, we must continue now to work with all aspects of our physical and spiritual lives to heal and create a world that offers hope in the face of personal or collective hardships that often make us forget our divinity and ability to live with dignity. If we begin to do what feels right from within, without judging issues as good or bad, only experiences,… we will free ourselves from the many illusions or ideologies that still hold us prisoners to fear and the limitations of our conditioned minds, and lift these challenging times to new heights for advanced human evolution.

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and right doing there is a field. I’ll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass the world is too full to talk about.”

-Rumi Kris tells us that she and her family live in rural VT. Her children attended Otter Valley Union High School—substance abuse was not talked about in your community. There is a side rant in the book that can discuss this.

Kris writes, “Turns out there had been three—count them three deaths from fentanyl patches and otherwise in our little county in the six weeks before Sam’s death, but that had been kept out of the press because Addison County didn’t want to recognize or be recognized for a growing opiate problem. We didn’t know that the medication could be abused, so it was the only drug that wasn’t locked up. The need for the towns surrounding Middlebury, Vermont and Middlebury College in particular to keep their pure healthy never-do-anything-wrong image meant that they withheld information from the public. And now, partially because of this Sam was dead.

Sheryl says Fake news and “lack of reporting news” can be so damaging to the people

In speaking with the funeral director you were asked about flowers—No we didn’t want donation flowers. Gaudy flowers were not Sam. Sam was garlic squash, hot peppers and LEGO bricks…

Kris wrote, “We sat in velvet chairs while Gary the funeral director asked us questions, What did we want for a funeral service? A private one. this hurt too to have it on public display. We wanted a teeny-tiny family service where on one else would see how incredibly broken we were……The questions went on: Did we want to bury him in a casket or cremate him? Cremation or burial….the decision for cremation was mutual. Gary went on to ask what kind of urn we wanted? An urn? We were going to make a decision about what to put his remains in. If he was cremated, we had to decide where his ashes would be stored. The questions continued. Did we want flowers for the service? Music? Did we want to have a musician at the service Speeches? …. Food? A reception. Program? Photos? How could this be happening? Sam was set to move into a new apartment on October 15th. We had just bought him a comforter for his bed there. Now we were looking at these shiny, gaudy urns in which to store his earthly remains. No no no no! This could not be happening. Then there was the matter of a burial spot for his ashes or most of them anyway. How many of you have your children’s gravesites picked out ahead of time? Or even your own resting place?” It seems that the process to plan a funeral should be simpler as this is a time when people are lost in sadness and cannot make rational decisions

Kris found ways to heal beyond religion, formal psychotherapy or pharmaceutical resources.

Kris tells us that as a grieving mother she has found joy and light again through the practices of conscious and deliberate gratitude, unconditional acceptance and connection with nature spirit and the eternal forces of creation.

Kris has also learned about the problem in our nation with abuse of opiate prescription drugs and shares that in her book.

The misuse of and addiction to opioids such as heroin and prescription pain medicines is a serious national problem that affects public health as well as social and economic welfare. An estimated 1.9 million people in the United States suffered from substance use disorders related to prescription opioid pain medicines in 2014, and 586,000 suffered from a heroin use disorder.1 This issue has become a public health epidemic with devastating consequences including not just increases in opioid use disorders and related fatalities from overdoses, but also the rising incidence of newborns who experience neonatal abstinence syndrome because their mothers used these substances during pregnancy; and the increased spread of infectious diseases including HIV and hepatitis C (HCV), as was seen in 2015 in southern Indiana.

Existing evidence based prevention and treatment strategies are highly underutilized across the United States. In 2015, the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched an initiative to address the complex problem of prescription opioid and heroin abuse in this country that emphasizes the implementation of evidence based prevention and treatment strategies to improve prescribing practices, deployment of the medication naloxone to reverse overdoses, and access to medication‑assisted treatment (MAT) to treat opioid use disorders.

Both prescription opioid drugs (such as oxycodone and hydrocodone) and heroin work through the same mechanism of action. Opioids reduce the perception of pain by binding to opioid receptors, which are found on cells in the brain and in other organs in the body. The binding of these drugs to opioid receptors in reward regions in the brain produces a sense of well-being, while stimulation of opioid receptors in deeper brain regions results in drowsiness and respiratory depression, which can lead to overdose deaths. Presence of opioid receptors in other tissues is responsible for side effects such as constipation and cardiac arrhythmias. The effects of opioids are typically mediated by specific subtypes of opioid receptors (mu, delta, and kappa) that are activated by the body’s own (endogenous) opioid chemicals (endorphins, enkephalins). With repeated administration of opioid drugs (prescription or illicit) the production of endogenous opioids decreases, which accounts in part for the discomfort that ensues when the drugs are discontinued (i.e., withdrawal).

People who use prescription opioids non-medically may seek to intensify their experience by taking the drug in ways that result in more rapid delivery to their brain. For example, extended-release oxycodone is designed to release slowly and steadily into the bloodstream when taken orally, which minimizes its euphoric effects. People who use pills for their mood elevating effects may crush them to snort or inject the drug, which not only increases the euphoria but also increases the risk for serious medical complications, such as overdose and substance use disorder.

Another important property of opioid drugs is their tendency, when used repeatedly over time, to induce tolerance. Tolerance occurs when the person no longer responds to the drug as strongly as he or she initially did, thus necessitating a higher dose to achieve the same effect. The establishment of tolerance results from the ability of opioids to desensitize the brain’s own natural opioid system, making it less responsive over time. This tolerance contributes to the high risk of overdose during a relapse to opioid use after a period of abstinence whether it is intentional – for example, when a person tries to quit using – or whether it is situational – for example, if a user cannot obtain opioid drugs while incarcerated or hospitalized.

Kris tells us how she began to feel most helped and close to Sam and at the same time help herself and the family heal. Shortly before his death, Sam had brought home some garlic he had helped to grow at Good Earth/Neshobe Farm in Brandon, Vermont. He worked as an intern for our friend Hannah who also happens to be our former daughter in law who had been married to our daughter Amie. Sam found his vocational calling on that farm . Specifically vegetable farming brought him joy in a way that nothing else did. So we googled how to grow garlic, Paul built a box and we planted it. It was well fertilized rich soil mixed with sand so it was light enough for the cloves to grow. Planting together Paul and Kris were able to talk and express all their mixed feelings of love and sadness as we watched Sam’s garlic cloves grow. Kris also used FaceBook to reach Sam’s friends who gathered his possessions and brought them home to the family. After a while the family began to go to the Boston Red Sox baseball games which Sam and the whole family had always found so integrative to their well being. Knitting. Thank God for knitting. Kris made many scarves that she gave to friends and years later it made her smile when she saw her friends wearing the scarves that were made and given with love. Serving others was an important part of the healing process.

Kris might like readers of Of Garlic Grief and Gratitude to take away with them after reading her intimate search for understanding life and death that those who have lost a loved one need to know that “Consciousness survives physical death.” And she writes…”Then there was another odd conversation at Otter Valley that centered on Sam’s spirit. It was the first time that someone told us that his spirit had clearly visited them and had a message for us, but it would not be the last time someone told us that. Keep in mind that Sam had only been gone from this earth for a day and already his spirit had visited someone with a message for us. While we now have come to peace with people coming to us with messages,” then it was like we were in a parallel universe or something.

Sheryl says In her second book The Living Spirit Answers for Healing and Infinite Love she tells the story of one of her Reiki students calling her very upset that her daughter’s boyfriend Michael had just passed hours before in a motorcycle accident, and asked if I could do a reading for them. Sheryl had been told by another medium that often it was not advisable to do a reading so soon after someone passes but because she had been asked and felt the tremendous suffering they were experiencing she felt that Spirit would not give her a task that could not be accomplished. The reading was most descriptive and told of his interests, dreams, love for his family and my client’s daughter and what would be happening at his funeral in a few days. Michael also expressed his feelings and thought that he had passed from his body quickly and there was no pain and while he knew it was time for him to follow the light beings that called to him, he looked back for a moment and felt sad, that his family would miss him and cry for him.

We thank Kris Francoeur for her sensitive honest and hopeful story of the loss of Sam a young man who was in his own way practical and loved life but got caught up in the confusion of the teenage years and life that was challenging overwhelming and changing so rapidly through these modern technological times of social media judgment perhaps, and false realities in relationship to what our soul truly yearns for. The confusion of these troubling times can be understood in Sam’s story

In summarizing today’s episode of Healing From Within we have shared probably the most challenging and heart breaking experience a family can go through and that is the loss of a child in this case Sam who was a sensitive much loved part of his family friends and community and who like all of us looked to move past pain anxiety or fear to feel joyful peaceful and happy. Addiction and drug or alcohol abuse is often a way that people try to subdue their feelings of discomfort in their body needing a self- medicating approach. If we think of life as a series of experiences, not good or bad, just part of an individual’s life plan or destiny that the soul has chosen before even being born, then we will not judge or deny what must happen, and will know that each soul is born with a time to come and a time to go, and be in eternal life, where learning love and personal growth continue.

Kris writes an interesting insight about Alpacas who for some reason mean eternal life for Sheryl…Kris wrote, “Alpacas understand death and sickness in a way that is hard to explain unless you have witnessed it. When an alpaca is getting sick, the others will comfort and support him around the clock, sometimes not eating so their friend is not alone. We have watched them stay awake for hours, keeping buddy company, and even after death, they will stay with the body and protect it….Their understanding of cycles of life and death has helped shape mine. These beautiful animals showed us kindness and empathy in a way we all could understand.”

Kris and I would have you open your heart and mind beyond sadness and loss and remember the soul and energy of those you love who are in spiritual life smiling loving and enjoying the process of eternal creation and growth. Nothing is ever lost, just transitioned to another dimension of energy and life.

  • Dreams to Enhance Your Waking Life

Welcome to Healing From Within. I am your host Sheryl Glick Reiki Master Teacher, medium, and author of the newest book in my trilogy A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening which shares the notion that as infinite beings the possibility to create a healthy prosperous physical life journey lies within, and it is not the political economic or societal demands of the world that hold us hostage to suffering and fear. Today Sheryl welcomes Garnet Thompson, author of 20/20 Vision Dreams, an interactive book and journal about pursuing dreams with persistence and focus, primarily for youthful individuals in age or heart which encourages to dream big and often.

Garnet as listeners of Healing From Within are well aware my guests and I share intimate and often intuitive insights into the challenges of merging our dual nature as both energetic soul beings with a physical life journey. We discover so many ways to merge our unique forces of life experiences with inner soul remembrances or awareness and become able to conquer many irrational limiting fears and barriers and break free of childhood patterns to pursue healthier joyful purposeful lives.

In today’s episode of Healing From Within Garnet Thompson helps listeners to identify how much they have to offer the world and provides answers to begin to take consistent action to achieve goals and dreams that have often been delayed or denied out of perhaps fear of failure? Garnet shares a wonderful perspective on how with persistence attitude and a network of support even “seemingly” impossible dreams are possible.

Garnet when asked to think back to his childhood and remember a person place or event that might have signaled to him or others what his interests might be as an adult begins by telling us of his life in Jamaica at 9 years old when he lived with his ministers family as his grandparents who he lived with moved to Canada to set up a better life for him. His exposure to many loving people in the community gave him an open heart and a desire to meet many people from different cultures to share his thoughts on living a positive life. Garnet writes, “During my youth I dreamt of flying to distant far-off lands and experiencing other cultures and meeting new people. The idea of getting on an airplane and flying free as the birds raced through my young mind for most of my childhood days. I reasoned that I would become a pilot and would have unlimited opportunities to fly each and every day. I think my younger self would have been quite pleased that I have been a passenger on many flights and travelled around the globe north south east and west of Jamaica where I began.”

“The only comment that I can offer is that the things I value most in life are family teamwork, truth, courage and integrity. At this stage in my life my greatest desire is to share the knowledge, wisdom and understanding gained so far with today’s youth in order to help harness their previously unrecognized and unused talents and skills.’

Garnet tells us for him the number one thing holding people back from successfully living the life of their dreams. “Let’s start with a dictionary definition of dreams: a series of thoughts, images and sensations occurring in a person’s mind. Dreaming then is the conscious or subconscious act of imaging the possibility of something occurring. As children we tend to dream quite often both during sleep and sometimes while awake. Often as we grow up we lose or relinquish the willingness and ability to let our minds wander and just dream.”

Garnet goes on to write ”The thoughts which flow through our minds can be likened to a great river from an unknown source which washes through our minds leaving debris and residue for us to examine closer during our waking hours. The deposits of debris (images or visions) of places, people, things and experiences which we find appealing and drawn to exploring provide a sense of hope which is vital to maintaining the life force within our beings.“

Sheryl says that Garnet you get to the source of the matter most immediately in that statement of the essence of our inner soul infinite being which connects to the creative force of Universal source and energy that is within all living beings and when we have knowledge of that part of our being, we are open to the alignment and downloading of helpful information to guide and improve life and creating our dreams.

In Sheryl’s new book A New Life Awaits Sheryl expressed it this way,” In recognizing your divinity, you will begin to hear your inner voice. The inner voice is the way to the soul and proof that the soul and your memories are eternal. Before awakening to thoughts of your inner soul voice and its eventual announcement that we all survive physical death—therefore, consciousness survives physical death—we cannot know this voice is of Spirit. This voice is the whisper of guidance from a Higher Self, a gut feeling connected to the mind and also the innate cellular intelligence of Creation. If you realize you are surrounded by the guidance of a Universal life force, everything is possible. However, if you cannot access your inner voice, fear and ego-based illusions will allow a constant flow of mind chatter. Mind chatter merely limits you from truly connecting your heart’s soul-based truth with your mind and holds you back from healing, loving, and living life with joy. ‘

During this period of lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic, what guidance can be given to young people preparing to attend either a college or university?

Garnet wrote “There comes a time in everyone’s life when the realization dawns that life is fleeting and everything and everyone about us is in constant state of change. It is this realization that could either drive us to greater accomplishments or paralyze us with an overwhelming sense of dread and fear. Often at this very moment it becomes clear that there is nothing to lose by making an all -out effort to live out our dreams and images playing on the movie screen in our minds.”

Sheryl says This world wide deadly disease and the economic collapse of world wide markets has been such a time. Many have learned to work from home and enjoy their children and families sharing more love and help to educate and communicate their ideas and dreams and make ways to accommodate everyone’s needs. Husbands and wives have had to be cooperative and creative in household chores and keep productive, not wasting their time and energy on negative attitudes and behaviors. Social media has helped people be closer and connect while they must socially distance. While it is not desirable long term, we can only hope we will find a vaccine very soon and move beyond the fear that political and media sources have compounded to make this time worse.

We look at the most challenging part in achieving one’s dreams and how can people overcome this

Sheryl says, “It could be many of the barriers and fears the imprinted on young minds by family teachers society as children and the perceptions internalized due to unfavorable conditions or to traumas which caused us either to see the world and people as a safe or trustworthy place, or one where risks lead to danger. Fear, I believe, sets the limitations and barriers to securing our most adventuresome wholesome and healthiest life journey, but once this fear is exposed and can be rethought and rechanneled to eventually create new dreams or possibilities that we can joyfully and successfully achieve.

Garnet suggests that whether the journey will be awful, mediocre, good, great or spectacular will be determined by the way that individual perceives the world about them. The attitude adopted by the individual either consciously or unconsciously will determine the level of success and the results along the way. Then again Garnet writes, Some individuals realize early on that they must keep learning and developing in order to become successful and live their dreams. While others feel they have all the knowledge necessary and avoid learning anything new which could make the journey a lot easier, or at the very minimum more comfortable over the decades to come.

Garnet feels some of the things that may have held him back in the past was the self doubt of the many changes he experienced and not knowing his mother and father. Garnet expresses that not meeting his father until he was 27 was a great source of distress for him.

In 2020 Garnet commemorated a milestone birthday FIFTY and whatever way you look at it a significant amount of valuable time has elapsed…some of the questions which raced through his mind were

    1. Have I accomplished the dreams or things which I set out to do during the days of youth
    2. Have I made a difference or positively impacted anyone’s life?
    3. Are the things I have accomplished meaningful in the world?
    4. Am I the best I can be?
    5. What will be my legacy?
    6. What’s next and what does the future hold

Sheryl is extremely delighted by the thought of reflecting on whether we make a difference or positively impact anyone’s life. Perhaps few people think of this when trying to realize their fondest dreams but it is in our estimation the real reason a soul incarnates into a physical life and many even though they are accomplishing this major objective do not realize or appreciate themselves enough. Sheryl reminds Garnet of the movie It’s A Wonderful Life where George was unable to travel and find his dream because he had to take over his father’s mortgage and loan business which ultimately helped many people have a home and decent life.

Garnet and Sheryl discuss why it’s important for people to have a support network while striving for their dreams and goals

It might be that our elders or loved ones whether they be parents grandparents aunts and uncles and other guiding parental figures often have life experience and a true desire to help younger people benefit from any mistakes or challenges they had In Garnet’s case they all said that getting an education was the most important thing to focus on in life in order to one day achieve your dreams. It is true that the more adept you are at whatever profession or life path you choose it will benefit you ultimately.

Sheryl always likes to tell clients that you may not succeed instantly for it appears that to be really proficient and competent it might take as long as 15 years of patience practice and consistency

Garnet also suggests that each person is on a separate journey on the ocean of life. We find the strength to keep going and to keep fighting through temporary alliances by the sharing of resources with friends or family members by hearing a favorite song and at times, via a kind word from family members or strangers. Garnet tells the story of being offered a position which required his wife and two children to relocate to another city and move away from family, At first he thought he might not take that direction but weeks later his wife mentioned that perhaps challenge would be an interesting adventure…so it seems Garnet and his family overcame perhaps a fear of the unknown and it led to great things for their personal and family growth. Sheryl shares with Garnet that years ago after writing her first book Life Is No Coincidence The Life and Afterlife Connection she received a call from Voice America offering her the chance to host an internet radio show and her first instinct was that she had no experience and how would she manage to secure guests for each show. Well she almost said, “No” out of fear but then realized that every opportunity offered something new to learn and enjoy, and since she knew there was no failure only experience she would do her best and take a risk, and so that is how “Healing From Within” began. Now ten years later Sheryl has interviewed over 500 authors and changemakers and what seemed impossible not only became possible, but quite a wonderful way to share her joy and love of life with other gifted talented people from all over the world.

The three most important attributes necessary to accomplish your dreams for Garnet are persistence, attitude and free will.

First you might want to recognize there are six weight-bearing pillars which have the responsibility of keeping everything standing throughout the course of our lives.

The six pillars of life are as follows:

Destiny Our purpose on life accomplishments, impact on the world

Values Personal moral code of conduct such as family truth integrity

Standards Behaviors and attitude in keeping with one’s vision and purpose

Belief Faith to know that something is true without evidence for or against it

Words powerful verbal or written elements which shape everything in the world

Actions Intentional movements to do something or achieve a desired goal

When we begin to build a strong foundation for living our most fulfilled life we come to recognize who we are. Sheryl wrote, “In recognizing your divinity, you will begin to hear your inner voice.

If Garnet had an opportunity to speak with his younger self, he might offer this advice.

“It might be to have told myself that unexpected winds of adversity will eventually cross our paths. On our journey. Whether it is the loss of a parent or child, the loss of a job or home or marriage and whether they happen once or twice in a lifetime, perhaps these challenges come to test or build our level of commitment and desire to live our dreams. We must see these events and recognize them as opportunities to build or use our will power to get through the storm. We may find a permanent solution to a severe but temporary adversity in life.”

Sheryl says she has come to realize over time, ”Experiences are neither good nor bad, just experience.

Many of Garnet’s childhood dreams and the soul journey he created have been realized and he is as such a man of comfort and joy to those he participates in life with. Sheryl thinks that the realization that these are the times Garnet has dreamt of from his earliest dreams of youth, a sense of service to others which now occupies most of his time and a sense of gratitude that the universe is unlimited and willing to provide the deepest desires and wishes of his heart or soul essence. And Garnet continues to meet new and interesting people and experience their cultures. So the boy from Jamaica who was raised by his wonderful grandparents and relocated to Canada found his wife and her family from Jamaica and had a most remarkable relationship with her Dad, filling his own need to have a father figure he could love and respect. The circle comes around to completion and where we started and end is exactly right for the needs and life plan we have envisioned.

We thank Garnet Thompson, author of 20/20 Vision Dreams for sharing what some might think is a challenging early beginning raised from birth by maternal grandparents in Jamaica and living with several different families while his grandparents immigrated to Canada but was exactly the life experience his soul created. Garnet has overcome tremendous self -doubt social and economic challenges through persistence, will power and with the support of compassionate relatives mentors and friends proving to himself and others that our dreams are surely within our thoughts and our thoughts have the power to create our reality.

In summarizing today’s episode of “Healing From Within” we have found a lovely way to begin to understand our dreams our challenges and our good fortune no matter what the circumstance to embrace every opportunity to just live life to the fullest and to find the best ways to relate to family and friends as we enjoy our work our travels our challenges and draw upon the wisdom within which wants you to know without judgment or fear or limitation you can remove any barrier to your most ambitious goals if you adopt a plan and work tirelessly and with consistency to improve your vision skills and be patient for if your dream doesn’t appear instantly it will in some form manifest as we are each born with a soul destiny and as we remember that part of ourselves we open up to possibilities and realize much of our potential to thrive love live with compassion serve and sprinkle our remarkable energy into the world so others may live inspired and hopeful once more.

Garnet and I would have you remember dreams from earlier days and from today recognizing how much of what you wanted in those younger days has been fulfilled and then realize It is a Wonderful Life and your being part of it makes it even better.

When Sherianna is asked to think back to her childhood and remember a person place event that may have signaled to her or others the life path or destiny she might create and the adult lifestyle she would experience Sherianna without hesitation tells us of the time when she was 12 walking along a country path and came to a Baptist Church. It was not the church she went to but felt drawn into the building to just sit and be in the Spirit of the Divine. Sheryl suggests it was the energy of peace and love that called to her and the healing mission she had chosen for her life path, her destiny, a path that would eventually help her to discover her own talents and share healing with so many others.

We find out what an Emotional Detox is and how vital it is to our health. Like a physical detox, an emotional detox removes unwanted impurities. In essence an emotional detox is a systematic and mindful way to purge undigested emotions stuck inside you. An emotional detox will allow you to truly feel your emotions, teach you how to take care of your feelings and provide a road map for living a happy fulfilled life.

The purpose of an emotional detox is to allow yourself to discover the tremendous value of your emotions. One of the most significant things you will learn in this emotional detox process is that everything has purpose, even anxiety!

    You’ll also learn:

What your emotions are and what they are not
The way reactivity shows up in your life
How to digest rather than react ex.
Think or worry about an emotion
How to communicate from no defensiveness
What happens in your body when you are triggered?
What the symptoms of anxiety are really attempting to tell you
Ways you block the flow of emotions as well as ways to enhance their flow
How to listen to rather than react to your bodily feelings
    The seven step C L E A N S E PLAN for addressing symptoms of anxiety.

As we define anxiety we find what ways an Emotional Detox can help.

Anxiety and all its related thinking, analyzing and worrying can take an immense tool on your body, mind and spirit. You might experience aches and pains, insomnia and indigestion and also suffer from wear and tear on your relationships, self esteem productivity, stamina creativity and more. And you are not alone—anxiety has reached epidemic proportions, affecting more than forty million people in the United States alone. Symptoms of anxiety likely also trouble some of your co-workers, neighbors, friends and family members—people of all ages, backgrounds, and personality types.

There are generally five predominant anxiety disorders: generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, post -traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and social anxiety disorder and the chronic denominator is chronic worry. It is such a widespread complaint that it’s not unusual for individuals to self-diagnose and in some cases, self-medicate using various coping mechanisms.

How do you know you’re experiencing anxiety?

You might hear yourself say things like:

I am constantly on the go: I feel like I’m rushing all the time.
I am so behind in my work that I don’t know where to start.

I can’t concentrate when my heart palpitates:

I worry it is a sign that I’m going to have a panic attack or worse.
    I can’t relax
I dread going somewhere new or being in a crowded room.
I eat when I am stressed
I hate it when things are out of order.
    I am a procrastinator
I feel like people think I am a basket case.
I feel overwhelmed and out of control

I find myself overreacting to the smallest things:

I get so irritated and snippy.
I have a hard time making a decision.
I no longer feel any love or desire toward my partner.
If only I could make more money things would be better.
My anxiety gets worse when I am alone or not keeping busy.
No one supports me. I feel so alone.
No one understands how hard I am trying.
The thought of dealing with my situation makes my heart race
    I feel bad.

The Prevalent Symptoms of Anxiety are:

    Difficulty sleeping
    Distress
    Dread
    Edginess
    Frustrations or anger
    Irritability
    Nervousness
    Self-doubt

    Physical Symptoms include:

    Excessive perspiration
    Fatigue
    Increased heart rate
    Muscle tension
    Poor memory and recall
    Stomach distress

Sources of anxiety may include genetics environment brain chemistry and traumas as well as loneliness financial stress unhealthy diet/lifestyle overuse of technology and social media, raising children drug and alcohol addiction and disconnection

Sherianna has found that it is our resistance to feeling that seems to be the common thread among all of these causes. If you focus on your emotions rather than the symptoms you can influence them all.

Sherianna discusses process versus unprocessed emotions. Thanks to high levels of stress and anxiety most of us have learned to treat emotions like a faucet. The minute things become too cold or hot we turn off the emotions causing the discomfort. It is exhausting to treat emotions this way as your brain and body have to waste time on deciding whether something is a potential threat. Rather than relax, your brain is always on high alert. Unfortunately, people with anxiety have developed a habit of preventing or protecting themselves from what they feel. It is this resistance to feeling rather than the emotions themselves that are contributing to the symptoms of anxiety. It’s important to remember that your emotions don’t happen to you, they are you. Anxiety is like having the fear without seeing the whole picture You get caught up in

The energy of anxiety often show up as:

A hollow or tight sensation in the pit of your stomach
A lump or tension in your throat and chest
    Heart palpitations or accelerated heartbeat
    Heaviness in the heart
Nervousness, jitters or a sense of being overwhelmed to the point you could yell or cry
    Pressure in the head
Stiffness or sweating in the palms of your hands
Tightness or tension in the chest jaw neck and shoulders

There are certain temperament traits (inborn characteristics) that make you more susceptible to anxiety. Some of them include:

Sensitivity to smells, noise, and or light Discomfort in crowds or crowded spaces Slowness to warm up or adapt to new situations Being highly empathic shy or sensitive Once you understand how these sensitivities are genetic you can know that you can change your cell The C L E A N S E works off the concept of neuroplasticity the brain’s ability to form and reorganize synaptic connections through tools such as visualization meditation and humming.

Sheryl asks Sherianna how the idea of Emotional Detox come to be. Like most important awareness’s dreams or intuitions often put us on right track for achieving our most desired efforts and goals.

Sheryl says perhaps like me you were told in a dream or a psychic medium that you would write this book and it was part of discovering that you are a healing spiritual being having a physical life to create love and refine your own soul energy so beyond this life you may carry within your soul the many memories and experiences that are the fabric of your individual soul that unites with the souls of all in eternal life.

In Sheryl’s final book in the Trilogy A New Life Awaits Sheryl wrote,

When I had my first reading by a medium, Sonya Mitchell, over 20 years ago, I was told I would write three books, a trilogy. While I had no interest at that time in writing a book, much less three, Sonya seemed strongly convinced that this was a certainty. I kind of took her strange predictions with a grain of salt. But as one coincidence led to another person and event, over time I discovered that these happenings she had suggested were happening and were not random but orchestrated by a higher hand or some unknown force of life. We can begin to call this universal energy the divine source or God.

Years later, having completed my third book as directed by Spirit, apparently for the completion of my soul’s promise to many people both in life and in Spirit I realized whether in a body or in pure energy, the soul is the essence and complete oneness of Spirit’s Intelligence and Universal Love and travels with us through time and space, lifetime after lifetime, as we gather experiences to refine our already magnificent soul. Death, in my opinion, is merely the next destination or adventure on our continuous circle of life.

Emotional Detox helps clients as do all types of energy work to release long embedded cellular memory of pain, sorrow or trauma. The key seems to be to rid the body of unnecessary and limiting energies of the past.

Sherianna after years of working with clients has found that people with anxiety tend to be highly empathic. This means they are quick to pick up on the energy of others. For example you might feel so bad for someone that you spend all your time helping them and forget to take a drink of water or get out for some fresh air for your own well being. Without the skills to nurture yourself you can intensify the symptoms of anxiety.

Emotional Detoxing may also help your manifesting potential. When Sherianna says manifesting she means bringing forth or creating something in your physical life through the process of digesting your emotions. By now you know your emotions give you energy. When you use this energy to create in this case peace, calm and happiness you are manifesting. Clients who began working with Sherianna to get rid of their symptoms of anxiety would suddenly find a job offer came their way, they got a promotion at work, they became pregnant or an adversarial relationship was beginning to mend. One client even found relief from debt.

The benefits of an emotional detox are:

Your physical, mental and spiritual energy increases
You become less judgmental of yourself and others.
You are less pat to pick up on the negativity or anxiety in others
You learn how to take care of yourself
You create what you want rather than what you don’t want
The more energy you gain, the more relaxed and connected you become.

The C.L.E.A.N.S.E Method is kid friendly.
The step C L E A N S E method guides you through the seven steps to a successful anxiety detox.

    The 7 steps include

    C Clear
    L Look Inward
    E Emit
    A Activate
    J Joy
    N Nourish
    S Surrender
    E Ease

Sherianna offers many tools to help listeners begin to learn how to process their emotions. Think of it this way: When you eat a piece of foody your body naturally breaks it down, absorbing what you need and excreting what you don’t need. When it comes to detoxing anxiety instead of breaking down you are breaking free from the resistant patterns and ways in which you have been controlling your emotions. Instead of labeling or figuring out what and why you are feeling the way you are before you allow it to be digested. We don’t exactly lose this habit. Instead, over the course of the process you gradually lose the need to do this. This is because processing your emotions is an experience not an action. Digesting your emotions happens when you are in a state of non-effort.

Self-awareness on the other hand is where joy lives. To be self-aware means you have some knowledge about your own character, tendencies, feelings and thoughts and behaviors. Rather than getting sidetracked by other people’s stuff, you are interested in your own inner awareness—how your feelings impact the sensations in your body, the quality of your thoughts and the rhythm rate and depth of your breath.

    Self Consciousness
    Self-Awareness
    Judges
    Nonjudgmental
    Closed minded
    Open-minded
Critical focusing on what’s Observant, open to opportunity
    Wrong
    Triggers Past Wounds
    Heals Past Wounds
    Insecure, doubtful
Aware Present Impulsive Wants a quick fix
Willing to be in the process

Sherianna gives us a tip you should include in your Emotional Detox efforts. Sherianna tells us that when putting together the CLEANSE METHOD she knew sound would be an essential part of the formula. I chose the sound hum because it wasn’t attached to any specific religious or spiritual practice. Hum seemed to be the least threatening and most familiar. The humming sound is evident in nature (bees buzzing), it’s innate in babies as they learn to vocalize and it’s one of the most natural ways to sing along with your favorite tune. The humming effect has many benefits: enhancing focus and memory, fostering relaxation lowering blood pressure, reducing migraines establishing the natural rhythm of organs stimulating the thyroid gland, toning the nervous system

We thank Sherianna Boyle, author of Emotional Detox for Anxiety for sharing tools and a Cleanse Method to help clear our mind and body of the thoughts and reactions that can cause fears and misunderstood perceptions that can take away our peace of mind and actually cause us to feel unsafe and unwell. www.sheriannaboyle.com

In summarizing today’s episode of Healing From Within we have actually discovered a system the C L E A N S E method which offers a plan to integrate a new way to realize where anxiety fear past trauma lives in your mind body and spirit and teaches not how to manage it, but how to release and move towards happiness and joy. We have learned that anxiety and emotions are not necessarily bad, and can guide us to know our deepest needs and desires allowing us to open our hearts and expect or manifest amazing things in our life through thought and surrendering to everything that must be in order to help us remember truly who we are. Sherianna Boyle has shared many tools and suggestions to help us achieve a holistic and healthy life from utilizing yoga and working with the chakras to food exercise sleep and awareness of gratitude for life.

We can come to expect amazing things as we understand our anxieties and the emotions buried within that can be eliminated so we are free to create new patterns of joy.

Sherianna wrote, “Because the C L E A N S E method teaches you how to feel, visualize and allow higher frequencies (emotions) into your life, don’t be surprised if you like I did start manifesting ideas, things, situations seeds you planted long ago. This is because when you are not attached to outcomes or extinguishing new responses, opportunities, and attitude shifts can happen. “ “For years I dreamed of teaching at renowned retreat centers all over the world. I wondered how to get my work into Yoga Journal and other respected outlets such as Psychology Today and the National Alliance on Mental Illness. (Nami) I would daydream about other methods for treating anxiety. It wasn’t until I started to practice the C L E A N S E method that all of this effortlessly came into fruition. I have helped clients shift from struggle to joy, tap into their higher potential and use the formula as a way to manifest their dreams, connections and healthier lifestyles. You too will see things shift as you use this method.”

Sherianna and I would hope that those sensitive empathic listeners who are searching for ways to deal with anxiety which is often a genetic as well as environmental way the body and spirit function to learn more about the possibilities of creating a fulfilling life know that everything we deal with is an opportunity to move us to happiness and ultimately joy. There are approaches such as energy healing and the CLEANSE method that can help you “feel” emotions, conquer anxiety, and live in a state of peace and well being.

  • Embrace the Idea of Living Now

Welcome to Healing From Within! I am your host Sheryl Glick author of my newest book in the trilogy A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening which shares stories showing us our challenges are not simply economic political or societal just a spiritual disconnect from our true being or soul wisdom and the laws of Universal Source.

Is there another ways to protect the crops without using these contaminants?

(Think of the rainbow—the phytonutrients are in the colors of the skin of the product.) It’s important to eat less animal protein and more plant protein.

They can be kept in storages tailored for such type of food.

According to WHO, the type of food that needs special attention when cooking are: minced meats, large joints of meat, and even whole piece of poultry.

Welcome to “Healing From Within” I am your host Sheryl Glick a Reiki Master Energy Teacher medium and author of A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening which shares a broad and bold view of these changing times to discover our problems are not merely economic political or societal but a separation from our spiritual inner sense of soul wisdom and the truth of being I am delighted to have with us today Dr. Brenda Bowers author of World Changers and Difference Makers who introduces solutions and a framework for you to maximize your potential as an individual and citizen of society. Dr. Bowers expertise lies in the areas of psychology, substance abuse and professional counseling with the goal of advancing a healthier society through a faith based and holistic lens.

As listeners of “Healing From Within” well know, Sheryl and her guests search our inner landscape or subconscious memories to connect the physical and energetic essence of life so we may begin to know who we are, where life originated, and how to process the challenges of our everyday life experiences. Indeed as spiritual beings having a physical life we are complicated magnificent beings who are capable of creating through our thoughts and actions the world as it exists now and in the future.

In today’s episode of “Healing From Within” we will consider being aware as a neutral state. It isn’t a right or a wrong, nor a negative or a positive, it’s simply neutral. It is the process of becoming heightened about your own character and coming into yourself by recognizing your motives — motives that are not driven by anyone except you. Can you exist separate and distinct from everyone else in your life and still define who you are? It’s a critical question and Dr. Brenda Bowers will direct us to find thoughts that can help us discover who we are and how to make a difference in living a life of purposeful action.

Sheryl asks Brenda to think back to her childhood and remember a personal event that may have signaled to her or others what their interests and lifestyle would reflect as an adult and Brenda immediately thinks of her father who helped her be open and gracious to all living things. She tells us the story of a fishing trip and writes, “Maybe it was somewhere around the age of nine when my dad took me fishing and nature exploring. He blindfolded me, turned me around numerous times, and told me to find my way back to his truck. On this particular trip, I encountered a bull and a herd of deer that looked like they were having a meeting that I was interrupting. I saw many other creatures along the way and despite having never seen or heard of it, I found myself as a young Doctor Doolittle in the making. I was too young and naïve to be afraid, but obedient enough to see the given task through to the end.

Did this create fears for me? Absolutely. I did not understand what they were, but it was probably at that time that the spark of self-awareness began to come through and actually became a gift inside of me. Self-awareness is an important theme of this book and your future. Conversely, when I came upon the deer, it appeared as if they were in a meeting that I somehow got caught in the middle of without an invitation; as if the election had just finished and they were debriefing about it. They looked back at me and I looked at them and in that second, that experience had a differentiating factor. That factor was understanding how I was going to relate to them and vice versa.

The choice that I made in seconds was to stay calm and use my words. I said, “I’m so sorry to be interrupting whatever is going on here. All I’m trying to do is get back to my dad’s truck. I’m sorry if I bothered you.” And it appeared that they understood because they just let me walk through and walk away. Every differentiation in the experience of getting out of those woods gave me strength to continue to be “different.” It gave me a contradiction that allowed me to embrace the foreign and accept it as familiar.

Another story Brenda tells that showed her she was maybe different. Brenda grew up in a very small town of about 26,000 people and everyone didn’t look, sound, or talk alike, but we were raised not to see differences. As I got older though, I realized that some people were treating me differently.

In order to graduate from high school, each student had to study agriculture. To fulfill this requirement, I became a corn detasseler at 12 years old. I was paid $2.57 an hour to work in a field taking the tassels off the corn stalks so that they could be ground up and used for feed. Surprisingly, this work was actually fun. I loved spending time outdoors. But I began to feel as though I wasn’t the same as everyone else. Before work, a truck would come and pick us up. It would stop and we’d get on the back of it and ride to the field. But when the truck came to get me, it never stopped. It just kept going and the driver said that I had to catch the truck. I had to grab the end of it and lift myself onto the back of the truck or I would miss my shift.

Again, this is a 12-year-old’s first job. I didn’t know I was the only person experiencing this. My friends who were also doing this summer job said, “Brenda, the driver always stops for us. You’re the only person that has to catch the truck or we leave you. We don’t know why that is but it just doesn’t feel fair.

I asked my mom about this as I did not understand why it was happening. It was then that we had a serious conversation about how my ethnicity could very well be the reason that I was being treated differently. I could not wrap my mind around that. It made zero sense to me. I was the best corn detasseler! I was always ready early and had a great spirit. So why would the color of my skin cause someone to treat me differently?

The situation, unfortunately, never changed — but I got faster. I started running. I made sure to catch that truck! I figured out how to catch it with one arm and swing myself up there. I stopped skinning my knees and I decided if this is going to be what I’m dealt with then I’m going to deal with this situation and conquer it.”

And I did. But I started to feel “less than.” I started to feel awkward. I started to feel that people were looking at me differently than they had before. Getting straight A’s wasn’t good enough anymore. Being on the track team wasn’t good enough anymore. Taking the basketball team to state wasn’t good enough anymore, all because I looked different than some other people. That stark reality was another moment of self-awareness for me. I didn’t realize it, I didn’t know it, but I had been in the woods with the bulls and the deer for such a time as this and I was up for the challenge.

Sheryl says that this is the racism that people feel when discriminated against because of race, culture, gender or religion. It is always the same. Just hatred and ignorance and a total disrespect for the best care of self and others. Sheryl has found that negative thoughts always float into our thought processes and may be as much as 75 percent of the thoughts we receive each day, but we have the ability to not engage or pay too much attention to that which would diminish us or someone else. When more people learn to love rather than hate, to give rather than take, the world ‘s energy will rise to a higher level of acceptance, gratitude and surrender to the best within ourselves stamping out racism of any kind.

Dr. Brenda Bowsers mentions at the beginning of her book two very special friends and colleagues and also the number eight as it relates to their journey. First, Brenda Dockery, APNP, MSN, RN, who was a trailblazer and trendsetter for advancing health and minimizing health disparities in the Black community. In 2015, Brenda was unexpectedly diagnosed with a rare cancer just a few weeks after her 60th birthday. Eight short weeks later she made her transition to heaven. An eternal void was left on earth that day.

Her second dedication is to Christine Hutchison, MS-HQS RN, who is the epitome of motherhood and warmth to all who encounter her. A 40-year veteran in the Catholic healthcare system, Chris retired in July2016 and was unexpectedly diagnosed with brain cancer during the holiday season later that year. Chris was always an eternal optimist. She fought diligently and kept a positive giving spirit all the way until the end. She would wake up out of her sleep and ask if she can do anything for anyone even from the point of unconsciousness. I’m sure she and Brenda have a heaven health clinic that offers eternal smiles and hugs to all who enter.

Both of these women have influenced my life as friends, colleagues, mentors, coaches, and soul-tied sisters. They both have made a difference in our world, one second at a time, one word at a time; and for both of them; one smile and hug at a time. From diagnosis to death was eight weeks for Brenda and eight months from diagnosis to death for Chris. Eight is the number of new beginnings that are born after divine completion. Enjoy the newness of your eternal lives my sisters, my confidants, my friends! You completed your work as World Changers and Difference Makers down here on earth. Now on to new galaxies and heights we have not yet seen but you have both now discovered. Brenda Dockery and Christine Hutchison, I love you both for eternity and beyond. The birth of this book and the mission of this movement is turning into a reality because each of you believed in me! Here’s to making you proud and to God be the Glory!

Dr. Brenda J Bowers, PhD, DNP, RN brings over 35 years of management and executive leadership development experience to her readers. She has been councilor and confidant to executives and leaders in organizations from small to multi-billion dollar enterprises.

As a senior executive vice president in one of the largest healthcare organizations in the country, she presided over the professional development of dozens of system presidents, administrative officers and executive leaders in an organization with more than twenty thousand employees. Most of her professional career has been in Christian ministry and healthcare leadership with some academia experience as well.

There are a few key tenets the book is built around. The first is the idea of “intelligence.” Intelligence is another fundamental element of the book’s framework. Self-intelligence and societal intelligence form the two worlds she has designed.

Similar to emotional intelligence (EQ) or an intelligence quotient (IQ), Dr. Bower propose that there is a mental quality that consists of the ability to learn from experience, adapt to new situations, understand and handle abstract concepts, and use knowledge to manipulate one’s environment (human intelligence as defined by the Encyclopedia Britannica) that can be applied to one’s personal life and in one’s life as a leader or contributor to society.

One should desire to have the highest self and societal intelligence level possible in order to have the greatest opportunity to continuously influence self and society alike. It is with this commitment that we can realistically, not just hypothetically or rhetorically, change ourselves and change the world.

The worlds are made up of spheres that influence that particular world’s intelligence and the characteristics, values, behaviors, attitudes, actions, and responses to its judgments. Collectively, these create a differentiating factor that ultimately determines the quality of our lives overall.

These three orbitals, if you will, are self-awareness as the nuclear core, followed by relationship management and authorial presence. They are accompanied by two additional elliptical fields. Organism knowledge becomes that fourth orbital within self-life intelligence world number one. Organism knowledge is how well we know our surroundings, how we maneuver through them, and our core capability to use the knowledge to generate understanding and wisdom from knowing we are a living organism not just a collection of inanimate organizations.

We can use experience to begin to make a world of difference. Dr. Bower writes, “So when I talk about “experience,” “experiencing the difference and “making a world of difference,” it is fair to ask for this idea and construct to also be defined. When we experience life, it simply means that we have practical contact with the observation of various facts or events we undergo during certain encounters. We find ourselves coming across something, coming in contact with something, coming up against something, and/or being faced with something. And this happens every second of every day of our lives.

Life itself is a culmination of seconds of experiences. But we often let these experiences and irrecoverable seconds pass by without giving credence or weight to their impact on the outcome of our day, a specific situation, or sadly in some cases, on our entire life.

Experiencing life should be palpable and visceral. It shouldn’t be something that feels inanimate or something that has no value. And it definitely should not be something that we’re hoping will pass by fleetingly as quickly as possible. But rather, we should embrace these contacts, observations, how we interact with facts, events, how we meet other people, come in contact with other people, come up against other situations, and how we face circumstances. These are all experiences.

Brenda describes the Seotak experience this way, “I thought I knew who I was, until one day I realized that I didn’t. I looked in the mirror and had no idea who or what was looking back at me. Interestingly enough, this has happened a number of times in my life. I wish I knew when I first experienced what I call a SEOTAK (See-Oh-Tack]- Self-Encounter of the Awareness Kind. Hold on to the SEOTAK concept and begin to incorporate it into all your life’s experiences. It’s one of the first ingredients in the secret sauce solution she offers to your current fears and frustrations. These ingredients will be bolded along the way and lead you to know yourself as the complete energetic and physical being you are but an awareness of that is the most important ingredient to living your best life and resolving fears, misjudgments and false realities.

We thank Dr. Brenda Bowers author or World Changers and Difference Makers for being an awakened soul heart based human being who seeks to live life in an expansive and honest manner sharing loving and being part of the community offering peace harmony and balance in a world that is besieged by so much anger and hatred.

In summarizing today’s episode of Healing From Within we have discussed the possibility that we begin to notice that difference is a point or a way in which we can tell something is not the same as something else. and is a distinguishing factor that extracts the uniqueness from the experience and records it in our being as distinct.

Understanding differences and similarities allows us to transform and to make a thorough, extreme, and dramatic change in form, appearance or character. We may create a new direction towards higher awareness consciousness and fix damaged emotional behaviors or attitudes improving the quality of life, health and happiness for a more evolved life journey.

We are indeed born as magnificent soul entities into the physical world equipped with everything we need to realize and utilize our excellence individually and collectively and to gather experiences, memories and dreams that enhance our soul essence leading to greater compassion and love.

We have also put our attention today on the instability of society at the present moment and all of the chasms and negative influences that must be turned into a positive direction. If we want to be heard, we must begin to carefully listen to another.

We do not have to agree but we should respect their right to their opinion and beliefs. We should not try to find common ground, compromise and live in peace and harmony beyond the friction and breakdown of society we are witnessing in the way of violent protests and damage to property and life.

Dr. Brenda Bowers and I agree that instead of judging experiences as good or bad just begin to see them as the building blocks of our spiritual soul life journey and neither good nor bad just as Dr. Bowers writes, “Life itself is a culmination of seconds of experiences.

These are all experiences.”

Brenda and I would have you begin to consider transparency, openness, honest communication, and accountability as a means to improve relationships, families work situations and our world as we engage and interact with people with the intent to understand, learn, and collaboratively participate. Helping others becomes a more pervasive and natural process enhancing us all.

  • Empaths Represent the New Human Blueprint

Welcome to Healing From Within, I am your host Sheryl Glick Reiki empathic Master Teacher medium and author of the last book in a trilogy A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Support Global Awakening exploring awakening of higher consciousness transformation to higher levels of functioning and transcendence or knowing that our soul energy is eternal and evolving at all levels of being. Today I welcome Rev. Stephanie Red Feather an ordained Shamanic minister and author of The Evolutionary Empath which shares that being an empath is a real thing and you are not alone in your experience of the world as you conquer the pitfalls and sensitivities of being an empath employing your gifts to create healthy boundaries for living authentically from your heart center. Rev Red Feather relays her wonderful journey through all aspects of energy healing and the traditions of ancient Peruvian Shamans to merge science and spirituality in a dance of love.

As listeners of Healing From Within are so well aware Sheryl and her amazing guests have traveled the world and beyond in search of truth of our human and divine essence so we may be able to live a healthy productive purposeful and joyful physical life experience. It is by understanding the duality of our physical and energetic forces of life that we can move beyond the fear and limitations of societal training to access higher consciousness which truly lets us handle challenges in a more accepting and loving way.

In today’s episode of Healing From Within Rev. Red Feather the founder of Blue Star Temple who holds a degree in mathematics and masters and doctorate degrees in shamanic studies will share with us her own journey as an empath who has experienced firsthand the challenges of being extremely sensitive to subtle energies and the emotions of others. She will offer advice on how to manage life’s difficulties as an empath and how these qualities are vitally important in the future of humanity.

We are all familiar with the term empathy but what exactly is an empath? Empaths are those who have been called too sensitive or emotional. Empaths have abilities of perception that others don’t possess and who have probably even been ridiculed for them. It’s for those who know that you are different but can’t find your tribe or figure out where you fit in.

It’s for the nurses, massage therapists, shamans, intuitives, artists, health care workers, energy healers, mediums, coaches, therapists, counselors, psychics, and change agents. And it’s for the scientists, engineers, pharmacists, computer programmers. military members, factory workers, advisors, lawyers, teachers, politicians, waiters, and bankers. While most conscious empaths fall into the former group there are plenty of closet empaths in every walk of life. Since empathic qualities don’t usually jibe so well with more conservative left- brain type environments these people have forced their special qualities so far down that they no longer remember their true nature. Yet buried or not, they are still plagued by difficulties and challenges as a result of their empathic nature.

Empaths often struggle with the following challenges

    Drawing boundaries
    Experiencing codependent relationships
    Feeling overwhelmed
    Taking on everyone else’s emotions
Standing up for themselves or saying no
Addiction to alcohol drugs food sex or patterns of behaviors
Feeling extreme sensitivity to any amount of disharmony in their environment ( people or things)
Becoming overstimulated from noise, light, scents, too much information or too many people
Achieving adequate self -care and energy hygiene practices.

Empaths may also have the following qualities:

    Strong intuition or psychic abilities
An ability to perceive subtle energies of the unseen realms or see angels apparitions of the dead
    A predisposition towards paranormal experiences
An uncanny ability to tune in to other people’s emotions and feelings –

    Clairvoyance (clear seeing)
    clairaudience (clear hearing)
    clairsentience (clear feeling) or
    claircognizance (clear knowing)
Ease in astral traveling shamanic journeying, or accessing altered states of consciousness
Communication with animals, plants rocks or trees
A strong desire to serve, support or heal others.
An innate connection to the natural world, God, spirits, nature or animals
A sensitivity to the energy of everything in their environment causing them to often adjust knickknacks, furniture, color light sound.

Stephanie talks about the human imprint and tells us that there is a part of all of us with a higher self -consciousness that is totally comfortable with being an empath and understand implicitly that this is our higher nature. On a deep subconscious level all of us know and remember our true nature. You are here to lead by example. To awaken in yourself and our fellow souls the memory that we are all sensitive loving heart centered compassionate beings. As a collective we are ascending out of the consciousness of the lower chakras anchored to the physical reality and rising into the higher spiritual chakras into the heart or soul consciousness. You are an empath because you chose to be an empath before incarnating into this human life experience. We must embrace our spiritual gifts as empaths are the new human blueprint.

Rev Red Feather says that we’re at a historical moment in terms of the number of empaths on earth. What tells you there are more empaths today? Simply look at the numbers of people engaging in sports, nature exercise, energy practices, yoga tai chi Reiki Craniosacral chiropractic massage, all events which help a person connect to their soul energy and know peace and calm.

Look at this terrible health pandemic the Corona virus the world is experiencing. People wanted to see that others would not get sick if they were asymptomatic or infectious so they stayed home, not going out as they might hurt others. Concern for others and being sensitive to doing what is right for the common good of all is an outgrowth of the empathic way of life. Look at the death of George Floyd and the thousands of people protesting for greater unity and the end to discrimination and abuses. While these situations have caused pain and loss, they have also advanced the human cause to feel and open up to their heart centered energy and awareness to the oneness of our being.

Stephanie writes, “There are many institutions, structures and belief systems in our society that seem hostile toward our sensitive empathic qualities. We have become masters at wearing masks and pretending. And while we might be in the minority in the physical world, it is essential to remember that being an empath is actually our natural state of being. In spirit form the human constructs of division separateness and the need for protection don’t exist. We all feel and sense everything in the realm of spirit although our experiences of “feeling” manifest differently in that form. In the spirit world we are highly attuned to the fact that we are all one. Illusions and ignorance are not part of the paradigm. We are grounded in the knowledge that we all come from the same source and therefore, don’t perceive another soul’s energy as a threat.

The challenges we experience as empaths in human form—being co- dependent, overwhelmed, or unable to ask for what we need, merging unhealthily with others, being judged and or needing to keep our energy field clear, don’t exist when we are in spirit form. These are accoutrements of the human experience. It is time….As a collective species and at the level of soul consciousness, we have decided it is time to anchor god consciousness more fully and more accurately back into the human experience to more fully embody our spiritual nature. Our vibration is being raised. We are in the upswing once again moving toward enlightenment and illumination.

Sheryl says…In a meditation I became aware that at the present time there are over 500,00 beings of light sent to help our planet and humanity to overcome the tragedies and painful experiences of these times war, disease, racial and religious division, gender and sexual inequality and we will be asked unequivocally to find clarity, love, and move pass judgment and anger to solve these problems. There will be many miracles and as we have so many spiritually minded souls as well as empaths cooperatively existing on the planet at this time we will be aligned to so many groups bringing people together rather than seeking division and separation.

In her book A New Life Awaits Sheryl wrote “I believe more and more people will be made spiritually aware through personal experiences or through world events. Little by little, step-by-step, God will awaken this present-day group of mortals to the reality of the next dimension and to their real purpose for life on earth. Spirit may begin with the children and lift them up to hold their own sense of goodness and help the elders be more aligned to their own innocence. In fanning and cooling the rage and anger of these modern times, miracles will be seen more often, and kindness and love will be shown to those experiencing life-threatening traumas who will, at times, be saved and then express their love of life. Healers and those in Spirit who constantly offer divine intervention will awaken a sensitivity of hope and gratitude towards the spiritual workers who are walking with us and sharing our sorrows as we move towards greater love, happiness, and awareness of our divine nature.”

Rev. Red Feather goes on to talk about humanity in a cycle of ascension. A lot of people might say we’re regressing to greater anger, hate war violence conflict but still there is evidence of this ascension phase. Just as there is a cycle of day and night caused by the Earth’s spinning on its axis and a cycle of seasons caused by the Earth’s orbit, there is a rise and fall of civilizations, as well as the rise and fall of human consciousness. Ascension isn’t just a spiritual concept, it is really happening. The length of the Great Year cycle is 24,000 years. The Great Year is broken into four smaller segments. The ancient Indians called these periods “yugas” and the Greeks broke the Great Year into ages: The Iron Age, Bronze Age, Silver Age and Golden Age. So what causes this grand cycle? It is almost universally agreed that it is linked to the observable celestial phenomenon. Yet, though we can’t identify the exact source of the electromagnetic influence, the concept of EM influences human life. Explained simply during the sunlight photosynthesis and growth occur, and man awakens and becomes active. Conversely when the Sun is out of view and night comes biological systems shut down into subconscious sleep.

It is undeniable that we are electromagnetic beings. And, it is undeniable that EM influences affect us both positively and negatively. Our universe is literally awash with subtle electrical magnetic waves. A concept that has greatly helped Stephanie in trusting the ascension process is to look at what happens when we move from one season to the next. Take winter into spring. Temperatures do not rise in a linear fashion. Each day is not necessarily warmer than the next. On average the days are getting warmer. It is the same with ascension and descension from one age to another. Some days the news bodes extraordinary discoveries or advances in technology or medicine. Other days the news bodes horrific atrocities of war, mass murder, loss of human rights, or famine. Each day is not always going to be better than yesterday. But over time we are definitely trending toward greater consciousness. As we have moved in the new age of Aquarius or the age of Collectiveness and authoritarian behavior, we must observe the opposite shadow side of Leo which is megalomania.

As empaths we’ve been hit with a double whammy experiencing both ascension symptoms and our normal complement of unusual peculiarities. Quite literally we have been dying while still being alive undergoing repeated cycles of figurative death and rebirth on a global scale, as our systems are preparing to hold higher frequencies.

What are some of the symptoms of this Ascension Cycle?

    Some physical symptoms:

    Stomach and gastrointestinal issues
    Changes in appetite and diet
    New intolerances to foods
    Temperature fluctuations in body
Being less tolerant to heat or cold
Feelings of waves of heat or chills
    Random flu like symptoms
    Headaches Cranial pressure
Third eye and crown chakra sensations
Increased sensitivity to sight sound smell hearing tones odd sounds
    Achiness Joint Pain Clumsiness dizziness
Increased sensitivity to and dislike for scents and chemical
Insomnia or need for much more sleep Fitful sleep
Heart rhythm changes in heart chakra
    Tingling and similar sensations.
    Skin changes Rashes

    Emotional/Intuitional Symptoms:

A general feeling and knowledge that change is happening
A preference for natural settings and less populated environments
    Synchronicities increase
    Seeing meaningful patterns around you
    Craving time alone
Grief for your old self and desire to discover your true self.
    Emotional sensitivity
Cycling from one emotional extreme to another
Time pressure or urgency Changes in experience of time speeding up or slowing down
    Lack of mental clarity Forgetfulness
    Psychic and extrasensory abilities increase
Heightened communication with other beings Telepathy
    Intuition and insight increase

What are the implications of this cycle of The Great Year and Current Ascension? These cycles of ascension and descension carry tremendous implications. Time is speeding up. We are experiencing accelerated growth and the feeling of living multiple lifetimes over the course of one lifetime. We are being subjected to rapidly increasing amounts of data and stimuli energetically psychologically, intellectually and digitally. For example, we are exposed to the equivalent of 174 newspapers of data a day. A hundred years ago people were lucky to read the equivalent of fifty books in a lifetime.

Our energetic bodies are being recalibrated. The Earth and the very dimension we operate in are undergoing an enormous process of purification. Many empaths incarnate now because we are in an Ascension cycle and our consciousness is rising. We cannot help but be affected by the myriad changes at the microcosmic and macrocosmic scales. The planet is now ready for humans with a more refined energy body, highly tuned nervous system and sensitivities to subtle energy and the unseen realms.

It seems empaths are here at this time to help unlock the next phase of human development. And at the same time empaths incarnating collectively now and in the last century are also “wayshowers.” In choosing to embrace our unique collection of characteristics we can help others remember and welcome what has been dormant inside us all waiting for the next Great Year Cycle. In A New Earth Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose Echhart Tolle says collective human consciousness and life on our planet are intrinsically connected. He declares that a new heaven is the emergence of a transformed state of human consciousness and “a new earth’ is its reflection in the physical realm.

Sheryl says In this New Earth the main purpose of human life is to bring the light of consciousness into the world. Consciousness is as the energetic or eternal nature of spirit being

You say that people choose at a soul level to be an empath. Are you saying they are born with it. Explain how that works. Can you choose to stop being an empath? Being an empath is not something you can turn on and off. This is not to say you don’t have control over it or that it can’t be developed, cultivated or managed but make no mistake being an empath is not a skill, competence knack or proficiency. It is a purpose, if you will, something you were either born with or not. And if you are born with it, it is something you live with 24/7. Whether you suppress it or not, it is an undeniable part of who you are. It is a choice you made at the soul level.

There are 5 distinct qualities of an empath.

The Five Distinct Qualities of an Empath:

    1. The ability to merge with and absorb the energy of other beings (people, animals or anything with a life force) which stems from a very open personal field.
    2. A highly sensitive nervous system which makes us prone to overwhelm and overstimulation which require extra vigilance and self-care.
    3. Great sensitivity to the energies around us and an ability to perceive or access subtle information stored in the energy of all types of life-forms including the unseen realm of spirit including angels, apparitions, the dead, energy fields of people and things, paranormal experiences past lives the Akashic records people’s emotions and much more
    4. The premium we place on peace and harmony in relationship to our environment, and our own energy field
    5. Big open hearts and a desire to serve others. Over giving and putting ourselves last on the list.

Being an empath manifests physically and does affect personal relationships and living with an empath can be difficult. Everything that manifests on a physical level is created first at the etheric level. Disease and conditions don’t just randomly appear. They begin in the etheric body as unresolved issues suppressed emotions active destructive belief systems and since an empaths neurological functions are intensified often when the system is rebooting and old patterns are being cleared so new frequencies can be experienced empaths may deal with depression or anxiety

Many will choose not to use medication but will seek a number of non -traditional therapists, energy healers counselors shamanic guides for relief. Living as an empath can be difficult because much of society is still centered and motivated by fear and ideas like

    Be Strong (Never show weakness)
    Suck it up (Never complain)
Work hard (Never rest or give yourself a break)
If you don’t know what to do, conquer, destroy overpower, eliminate
If you don’t know how fake it. Honesty is dangerous.
There isn’t enough We must compete even if that includes manipulation
    Never say you’re sorry
    Suffering is expected
    You can’t trust anyone

Empaths are an anomaly in western culture and in general there is not much tolerance or appreciation for the traits of an empath. Being open hearted, sensitive, emotionally vulnerable, intuitive or service focused is generally considered weak. People often say they appreciate altruism cooperation and people who are honest, but behavior tells the real story and often there is a disconnect between their words of acceptance and compassion and their deep seated unconscious beliefs and reactions to seriously empathic and empowered people for many would like to have their uniqueness, but wouldn’t know how to utilize these spiritual gifts, so jealousy and ignorance causes many to act in an unkind way to empaths or spiritual people in general.

Rev. Stephanie Red Feather might like readers to take away with them after reading this book that being an empath is a life path, a choice that was made in spirit form when souls were deciding what characteristics and experiences they wanted for themselves in this incarnation. Why you might ask would empaths chose to experience the many emotional and physical challenges to our health and relationships that an empath may experience. Perhaps walking the path of an evolutionary empath is a choice to deeply engage the full spectrum of characteristics of an empath, to gain further insights into the nature of human form for our soul’s highest growth and expression It is the choice to experience in a human body all the unique challenges and gifts associated with having an open energy field, a highly sensitive nervous system, the ability to perceive and access subtle energies, to serve others, and a profound need for peace and harmony. In addition our soul contracts include anchoring this vibrational field on planet Earth and being of service to humanity’s ascension as a whole. We along with other legions of empaths, sensitives, conscious elders, and next generation youth are here to establish the energetic frequency we are evolving towards as a species. As empaths progress through life’s challenges we are discovering, developing and refining our medicine. In shamanic terms our greatest wounding or tribulation has the potential to become our greatest medicine later in life.

Sheryl thanks Rev Stephanie Red Feather, as one empath to another. for sharing a very complete and comprehensive look at the pain, power and great path of empaths who are the “wayshowers” for the evolution we are all experiencing at this crossroad and leap to higher consciousness and self -awareness as both a soul and physical being.

In summarizing today’s episode of Healing From Within we have shared the true definition scope and necessary reality of all those souls who have chosen the sensitive lifestyle and life path of an empath: many of whom find great joy and gratitude for their original soul decision to enter this life with these gifts at a time when all seems to be cascading into decline, but is actually moving past the limitations of a worn out three dimensional reality, to birth the pathway for all humanity to embrace empath qualities. Rev Red Feather wrote, “An empath is a person who chose at a soul level to incarnate with a specific set of qualities expressing in various degrees an open energy field, a highly sensitive nervous system, the ability to receive subtle energies, a strong need to create peace and harmony and a deep desire to be of service. …the unique challenges hat these qualities present were accepted by the soul to serve their highest growth and to serve the planet by anchoring the new human bluepring and fourth chakra heart consciousness during this early period of ascension.”

Stephanie and Sheryl would encourage all empaths and those moving towards embracing these qualities of light to call on spirit and our helpers in the realm of eternal life to support us and to boldly walk with us with courage and love as we continue to accept the beauty of our purpose and bring it forth into the physical realm as we promised to do long ago before this specific life time.

  • Finding Yourself, Compassion and Universal Wisdom

Welcome to “Healing From Within.” I am your host Sheryl Glick, author of the newest book in a trilogy A New Life Awaits Spirit Guided Insights to Global Awakening which shares the notion that our challenges personally nationally and worldwide are not economic, political or societal but a disconnect from our true being or soul wisdom. I am delighted to welcome Thad Cummings, author of Radical Compassion which shares Thad desire to serve the greatest good and visits third world nations where he learns about poverty empathy and the joys of living with love and purpose ending his thoughts that poverty has little to do with the materialist world.

As listeners of Healing From Within well know, Sheryl and her insightful guests share intimate views into the metaphysical world of energy and science, as they share the truth of Who we are? and why we are experiencing a duality of life as both physical and spiritual beings learning to merge both aspects of our totality in order to live our best lives and reach our true potential as we find life is a balance between the mysteries of an ever evolving Universe.

In today’s episode of Healing From Within Thad Cummings will share thoughts on “ Can compassion change the world? And if so, why hasn’t it happened already?”

When Thad is asked to think back and remember a person place or event that may have shown them the lifestyle work and interests they might pursue and value he tells of the return of his friend Chris from a mission to help others in third world countries and what seems to have been an inspiration for you to write Radical Compassion.

Thad tells us Chris’s story and writes, “It wasn’t what I expected.” There was a tension in his voice, an unexpected fusion of pain and remorse as his eyes returned to the rocky path ahead of us. He went on to explain that this was a mission trip to serve the “poor,” to try and help in one of the most impoverished areas in the world. After speaking for several minutes, Chris lifted his gaze again, but this time, with a hint of shame in his eyes. “I went there to have empathy for the poor, but the poor had empathy for me, for my lack of joy amongst all my riches. I thought I was going there to help save them, but they were the ones saving me…” The crisp, spring morning suddenly felt heavy. The crisp, spring morning suddenly felt heavy and the chorus of singing birds faded from my ears. How is it that humans in one of the world’s poorest villages, ravaged with famine, crime, drugs, no access to clean water or medical supplies, filled with diseases and infections, without electricity and hardly any shelter, were the ones having empathy for my friend? My friend, who lives in luxury with all modern conveniences never worrying where the next meal will come from. “The sense of community they had, the joy they shared with me, they had hardly any food but tried to feed me before themselves; the gratitude was unlike anything I’ve ever witnessed,” “They were the ones taking care of me, not the other way around.” One question was left suspended in the air between us – “What if it is me who is actually poor?”

Poor (adjective): lacking material possess; small in worth. – Merriam Webster Dictionary

What does it mean to be poor?

What does it really mean to be “poor”? Is it just a matter of material possessions? Throughout this book, Chris would like to expand the definition of “poor” from a statement about economics and wealth and evolve it into many aspects of life. To begin with, he would split the definition into four main categories: financially poor, poor in health, poor in education and resources, and poor in life and spirituality. These categories can then be further broken down. For example, those who are poor in life or spirit may feel: relationally poor, poor of passion, poor of love, poor in purpose, poor in faith, etc. Now Chris is not going to treat this like a textbook to cover each of the four categories with definitive examples in a succinct pattern; life does not work in neat categories. Instead, this conversation unfolds through a series of stories that engage and overlap each category.

Before we begin, let’s set the stage by redefining “poor” in a new light to open the conversation and challenge our own stories (no offense to Merriam-Webster).

Poor (adjective): lacking an element for wholeness in joy

Thad writes, “Bluntly speaking, I think every person is poor in some regard and we have to look beyond the obvious physical signs to see it. Many of our lives are riddled with bouts of fear, anger, bitterness, jealousy, judgment, or resentment. While I believe these sources of pain and despair may be rooted in a place of fear, I think they also point to a large inadequacy in our lives – a shortage of joy. When life seems to be overflowing with joy and compassion, there is often little room to harbor any of this pain and despair. Yet most of us are consumed with the pain and despair to some degree. Why else would topics like greed and envy be so commonplace in society? We all have needs & we all have something to offer Take the example of my friend visiting Haiti who went with physical resources such as medicine, food and building supplies to a village that desperately needed them. Absolutely wonderful. But in return, the village shared with him a compassion of grace, love and community that he was desperately searching for, and didn’t even realize how much he yearned for it until it was bestowed upon him. We have the ability to fill in the gaps for one another. In fact, it is part of our purpose. It’s how humanity was meant to grow in love and compassion.

This awareness of the different needs within to find happiness in life is so important. This shift in awareness is vital because on one hand, it keeps us from reverting to a characterization of victimhood where we believe we have nothing to offer this world. That mentality forces us to conclude we are powerless in our circumstances or even that our very presence is a statement of bad luck and a testament to the wake of damage we will inevitably leave behind for even trying. On the other hand, if we attempt to help another person without engaging from a place of empathy, or acknowledging we also have needs, it will leave our interactions with that person directional (or one sided). This approach allows barriers to stay in place and it allows us to keep ourselves at a distance, taking on God-complexes of superiority to say, “I have something you need and I choose where to give it.” We will discuss these trains of thought.

Thad goes on to discuss cyclical compassion Cyclical compassion is a new cycle that creates tangible change when we participate without asking, “What is in it for me?” and instead begin saying, “Here is what I can offer.” Cyclical compassion opens the door for humility where we can simultaneously posture ourselves to accept love and grace in return. Our world view continues to grow as we see the positive feedback loop this cycle creates. It awakens us to issues like the pain, destruction, despair and loneliness created in our competitive efforts toward the futile labeled horizon of “success.” Then, and only then, do we see that success in life is not about climbing a corporate ladder, accumulating wealth and possessions, or striving to be the best employee, athlete, student, family, fill in the _______. No, the more our worldview expands, the more we realize the only competition that matters in this life is in living life to our fullest potential: a life full of grace and compassion for all of the “poor” in the world; including ourselves.

I’d like to simplify this conversation by focusing on three major types of roadblocks that I think we can all relate to and let you unfold the rest in your own discernments.

#1) Fearful doubt: “What if I’m wrong?”

If purgatory exists, it’s known here on earth as the intensive care unit (ICU). I was in Utah with my stepfather visiting his son, Kris, in the hospital. ICUs are stressful places and you are never visiting one because a friend or family member is doing “well” by any definition. Aside from an operating table, it is the most serious place a person can be within the hospital. Kris had a stroke of bad luck in his childhood when a virus went to his heart. The damage was permanent and irreversible. Although Kris did his best to stay as healthy and active as possible, 30 years later he would find himself battling a flu he just couldn’t shake. He was dropped off at the local emergency room and upon entering the hospital he collapsed as his heart stopped beating not once, but twice. A week, a day, an hour earlier, anything short of him walking into the hospital and he would not be alive. I did my best to convey to his father what he was about to see, but nothing can prepare a father to see his son connected to a dozen machines including ECMO, a machine that was beating for Kris’s heart. Conversations take on a whole new meaning when you can’t speak to your child who has multiple tubes down his throat breathing for him. Walking up to the bedside, I froze. I didn’t know what to say to my brother, I didn’t know what to say to my stepfather, I didn’t know what to say, period.

I returned to the waiting room to clear my head and stared out the window at the mountains. A voice broke my concentration as I turned to see a woman with long black hair talking on a cell phone. I overheard her conversation and watched as she broke tragic news to a sibling over the phone. She collapsed to the floor, sobbing hysterically. I didn’t ask her if she was ok or if she needed anything, I didn’t offer a shoulder to cry on, I just stood there watching, entrenched in an isolated state of chaos and confusion. I wanted to reach out a hand, to say something, anything, but my mind began to race: What if she wants to be left alone? What if she gets mad at me for asking? What if she just needs space? Sure, but what if I’m wrong?

While we’ve all been in such a situation, this “armor” or “cage” can feel intangible and difficult to discern. Putting it in context, we might realize how this notion of being “wrong” can actually be used in reverse to eliminate this roadblock entirely. To be clear, this isn’t a conversation limited to big events in hospital waiting rooms. Loneliness, despair and isolation are real and everywhere. According to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, there is an average of 121 suicides per day amounting to 44,193 deaths per year. It is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States. And for every successful attempt, there are 25 failed attempts. That’s over 1.1 million suicide attempts per year just in the United Sates. Most of us know at least one person who has been affected by suicide, but let’s take this one step further. According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, over 40 million Americans battle with anxiety and depression on a daily basis. Loneliness, despair and isolation have touched every one of us. Know these statistics not because I researched them on Google. I know them because I’ve experienced them personally and have seen or heard a similar experience in just about every relationship in my life. Why, then, didn’t I reach out to ask that woman if she was ok? Why couldn’t I look my brother in the eyes? Why didn’t I say anything to my stepfather? Those are the initial questions and they open the floodgates to many more. Remember, this isn’t just a conversation about a person poor in health. Why do I briskly walk past a homeless person who is asking for money? Why do I avoid making eye contact with the person sitting silently on the bus staring at the floor? Why don’t I say thank you to the person taking out the trash at the office building or ask the mother of three if she needs a hand with her groceries – especially as the youngest begins to have a meltdown in the checkout aisle?

Compassion is one of the most in-depth elements of a relationship we can have with another and with ourselves. This notion of being wrong—feeding our doubt in what we have to offer and to give—is significant in and of itself and it ties right into what I find to be the most common roadblock to compassion.

#2 Convenient Compassion: “Is this easy and agreeable for me?”

I have had a million excuses to keep me at bay when it comes to practicing compassion. It’s not to say I’m not full of compassion; it’s just that compassion feels more or less accessible when it is convenient for me. When my day is going well, I’m rested, I’m caught up on my to-do list, my hair looks good and my new shoes fit just right, of course I’m happy to help then! But how often does that happen? What about when I am indeed tired, exhausted, frustrated, furious, behind, really behind, late, or extremely late? Don’t even get me started if I have a personal feud with you. Under any of these circumstances I suddenly have a whole new set of questions and standards that enable me to avoid compassion. I’m not talking about the obvious questions like what if I’m more late or what if this makes me fall even more behind… no, those make me sound selfish so I have newer and more preferred questions I can ask that make it better for them that I don’t get involved: What if that person isn’t struggling? What if they are offended by me asking? What if they think I’m a creep or a jerk? What if I embarrass them? What if they embarrass me? What if I say something wrong? What if I cause a scene? What if they say “no” or laugh in my face? Sure, but what if I’m wrong? What if that person has no one left? What if no one has reached out and asked them how they are doing? What if they haven’t heard that they are loved or that they matter or that they have worth in days, or months or even years? What if they just want someone to talk to, someone to say it is going to be ok or someone to tell them they aren’t crazy or alone? The truth is, I’m not a genie, I don’t know.

Are you ready for the most frustrating part?

Offering compassion isn’t going to happen conveniently for you just like there is never a convenient time for that bad or earth-shattering thing to happen in the first place. Who has ever offered condolences for the death of a pet and that owner responds, “Oh not to worry, it was a convenient time for Sparky to die.” No form of pain in your life happens at a convenient time and your compassion should not be predicated on convenience either. Yes, it will interrupt your perfectly planned week. It will come at 3 a.m. while you are sick in bed with the flu.

#3 Judgment: “Do they deserve compassion?” This is by far the hardest to discuss. In fact, I knew it would be easier if I left it out in the hopes that you might skim past this section without bringing it up.

Thad writes, “If we are all being completely honest, I think most of us have battled serious issues of doubts, loneliness, anger, funks, or resentment in our lives, all but lashing out at the heavens to scream “Why!?” But sometimes, the desire to take another step beyond questions like, “Should I keep going?” or “What is even the point to all of this?” comes not from within, but from another person. Not necessarily a person who shared some wisdom or had some answer for us, but a friend, a lover, a stranger: someone who was simply present in a difficult time. Who reminds us that we are loved. Who helps us see that we all make mistakes and we aren’t actually alone in this world no matter how hard that can feel at times. Most importantly, this is someone who takes time to notice and genuinely cares: someone whose compassion isn’t constrained by conveniences, by the fear of being wrong, or by determining if you deserve it or not. “

TCompassion is the source of vitality in this life. Compassion takes on more power than any other entity. It’s a means to stop unnecessary suffering. It’s a step toward ending the tragic statistics of depression and suicide of people poor in life, a step toward visiting that person in the hospital who is poor in health, a step toward supporting a group of persons in Haiti who have no resources and a step toward building a relationship with a person who may be penniless and homeless. For all of my friends out there thinking you don’t have a compassionate bone in your body, I want to make it clear that compassion isn’t just a necessary component of life nor an elusive trait of selfless servers and non-profits.

Compassion is in all of us at the core of our being. We already have it because it is the fundamental basis to the very essence of who we truly are. We are born of compassion and we can only exist in this life through the substance of compassion. Sometimes we just have to change our vantage point in order to see this, as well as believe it. That’s what this discussion is ultimately about: a change in perspective. If you don’t believe in this for one reason or another, that is ok. I fought this reality for years. But I still want to challenge you to read this book from a place of openness and to consider one vital train of thought: What if it could be true, that compassion is the essence of my existence, and how would that viewpoint change my outlook on life?

What is GIVING YOURSELF GRACE? Is it time to let go of the competition and your past?

If we cannot give ourselves grace, then how are we ever going to be able to receive grace? If we cannot receive grace, then how are we ever going to be able to give grace to others?

We all have unique ways in which we respond to determining Giving Yourself Grace 35 our worth and value. It follows this belief that if you only knew who I was, the real me, that might not be good enough. Or you might condemn me for those flaws and insecurities. This fear is deeply ingrained and sourced from two forces in our lives that are keeping us from offering grace to ourselves: societal influences and our own belief in our unworthiness (and both of these tend to feed off of each other). Our ancestral roots, for example, have a dark history that desired, longed for, and loved to bear witness to atrocities like beheadings, hangings, stoning’s, and crucifixions. Forget the notion of pain for a moment; these ordeals were meant to be publicly humiliating… to completely shatter a person’s worth for the world to see and cast their judgments upon. These are no longer legal forms of punishment in this country, so instead we have easy access to platforms like social media to get our fix for public shaming. Social media has its positive aspects, I know, but much of this new-found access to judgment is nothing short of an epidemic.

The biggest regret I had when the doors closed was not losing all the money, it was shutting down my community food program It made me question my ability to even help people in the first place; it was like an acid burning away the part of my soul that longed to serve this world and I was not mentally prepared for its corrosive powers. It took months for me to consider the thought of volunteering or helping my community again. Months to face the narratives and redefine a new one based on who I am, not on what others perceived me to be. Eventually I was able to find the desire to serve again. Still, that message sits in my phone two years later as a reminder of this battle I am continually bumping up against. A battle to not only question everything I see and hear elsewhere, but a battle to keep a close watch on how I am defining my worth and value, especially when it comes to offering myself grace.

I often refer back to Don Miguel Ruiz’s book, The Four Agreements, when he talks about our ability to communicate as one of the greatest gifts we humans have. Sadly, we often abuse and misuse this gift. He states, “But like a sword with two edges, your word can create the most beautiful dream, or your word can destroy everything around you.” Hitler brought the entire world to its knees through the power of his word simply by preying on the fears and securities of others.

Let me be blunt. We have an addiction to platforms like social media, yes, but it’s a larger issue than that. We face a cultural addiction. It’s not just about getting the right selfie for our profile picture or the right sunset shot for our Instagram. It has evolved to the way we carry ourselves in our work or how we engage with friends and family dating back to the post World War II era of “keeping up with the Jones’s.”

Before, we had a cultural addiction of trying to keep up with everyone; now, we attempt to one-up everyone. Uniqueness and being on top have now become the goal. Being unique is not necessarily a bad thing; it’s when we want to look and perceive ourselves as being so unique that we begin to lose our true uniqueness rooted in the depths of our soul, sacrificing this in order to create a new image with a higher altitude. When we are on “top,” it means everyone is looking up at us trying to catch up. It is easy not only to judge, but to get value when people are drooling at your feet to hear what story you are going to share next or when someone asks you where you bought that dress and inadvertently feel superior to others… that is when things start to fall apart.

Sheryl thinks what Thad wrote is a very important insight into soul and personal growth We must take the issues deeper in order to understand, as well as resolve them. “So forget the flowers, the landscaping and diamonds and birthday parties. We must engage our partner to know and love them well, as is true for our neighbors, our children, and our friends. However, none of this is possible if we aren’t able to engage and love ourselves well – to step away from the games and root ourselves in the healing power of grace.

Thad may want you to remember this, “The next time you make a fairly decent mistake, get frustrated and start laying into yourself, write it down, get it all out and put it aside. After several days when things have calmed down and the moment has passed, go back and read what you wrote. Ask yourself if you would say that to a co-worker, a friend, a spouse or your child? What did that ultimately accomplish and how big of a mistake was it in the grand scheme of things? Are you using your words to create a beautiful dream or destroy everything around you?

We thank Thad Cummings for a sensible logical and wonderful way to appreciate compassion empathy and love from an inner sense of being without judgment and complications from our physical life challenges In summarizing today’s episode of Healing From Within we have seen what compassion really is and why there are barriers that prevent us from often engaging in opening our hearts and sharing with others who are in pain sorrow or challenged in some way out of our fear to make a mistake make it worse or appear like we are intruding. We have seen that if it feels right and we offer any assistance through love it will always be valuable and if not appreciated at the moment down the road may be remembered as a life line and a moment of true compassion.

Thad has shown us the journey of his soul has been to find ways to open to the impulses and alignment to Spirit move past fear and simply be present and open to all possibilities. Thad writes, “I share these stories because from the simple mistakes to the deepest despair in life, we don’t tend to go easy on ourselves. Or we let our past mistakes define who we are in the present. It is imperative that we dissect both the external as well as the internal voices that keep us from having grace and compassion on ourselves. It has taken years, but I’m beginning to not only understand both sides of my own coin but also to alter my “why.” I continue to long to serve in my community and the more grace I’ve been able to have on myself, the less my baggage comes with me in my acts of service. The less it becomes about determining my worth or what others may think, and instead, I find myself more capable to share that grace with those I encounter.

  • Miracle Minded Managers for Life and Business

Welcome to Healing From Within. I am your host Sheryl Glick, author of my just released book in a trilogy that I was told I would write 20 years ago before that thought was a reality for me. A New Life Awaits Spiritual Guided Insights for Global Awakening shares new ways to perceive the challenges of 2020 and modern- day life and begin to self-investigate, manage our emotions, and live life as the spiritual beings we are in search of remembering hope and love. I am delighted to welcome John J. Murphy, author of Miracle Minded Manager who will share with listeners that we can be hurt by nothing but our thoughts and fears until we surrender the ego to a higher power.

As listeners of Healing From Within have come to expect over the years, Sheryl and her esteemed guests share intimate experiences and insights into the true nature of human and spiritual life or metaphysical laws of creative or energetic life as we learn to recognize inner/ outer world influences can self-investigate and master emotions so we may better deal with stress and challenges. This inner work improves health, relationships, so we may explore the world with the least amount of fear and friction. This takes an understanding that we are more than our physical bodies and that energy of thought and action create much of what we are experiencing.

In today’s episode of Healing From Within John J. Murphy who is a global business consultant spiritual mystic author and founder and CEO of Venture Management Consultant a graduate of University of Notre Dame and University of Michigan’s Human Resource Executive Program and a former quarterback for Notre Dame so we can see that it is clearly possible to function in all aspects of life business spirituality sports and continue to shine light on all matters that really matter.

When John is asked to think back to his childhood and remember a personal event that may have signaled to them or others the goals, interests work and lifestyle that they would pursue in adulthood John tells us that like any human being growing up he was frequently anxious and stressed about one thing or another. He remembers when he was giving a speech in high school he was so nervous he almost got sick. The same was true before stepping onto the football field as a quarterback both in high school and at Notre Dame. Growing up in a Catholic family John was taught about faith, but what he learned later is that one cannot have true faith and be afraid at the same time. It is one or the other. Period. True faith does not come and go. It is a complete thought system as is fear. In retrospect John thought he had faith but it was an illusion. He was under the world based influence of the fear-based, ego thought system. There is always something wrong. People are out to get you. What if you screw up? At that time John as many of us assumed the best we could do was learn to manage stress with things like exercise meditation and positive thinking.

As we fast forward we begin to think about the self -imposed states of mind or the ego based reality that often hurts us, limits us and we begin to see another way to work out of the box. Like many companies when thinking about teamwork most are anything but healthy. It is as if the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing and when you are trying to pull a team together, it certainly helps to have a leader who seems relaxed and confident and always seems to know something the rest of us are missing.

A quote from E. F Schumacher also suggests the problems in corporations, government, and families, ”Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex. It takes a touch of genius and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction. We need to simplify and he keeps making things bigger and bigger.” That makes sense to me.

John writes, “When thinking about apathy or grief most of us feel a sense of hopelessness or despair, as we have been conditioned to reject the idea of fear and insecurity and trained “to fake it till we make it.” But that doesn’t correct this incorrect thinking or stop you from developing high blood pressure or heart disease. The ego thought system is the problem. It is just fear based protective and dualistic in nature. It values separation and pride. It shows us there is a right and wrong, a good and bad between us and them, a win and a lose dichotomy all around us. No matter what you do or what you accomplish in life the ego wants.”

We are the solution to our own problems and can begin to think differently. “Let’s put it this way, the Ego believes in condemnation which fuels guilt and stress at the subconscious level. Remember this when we judge the world, we judge ourselves. When we criticize the world we criticize ourselves. What goes around comes around. Therefore, we can blame the outside world all we want but are imprisoning ourselves by accepting this thought process. We must free ourselves by transcending it, by letting go. The power of decision is within us and ours alone to make. We are the solution to our problems by changing our thinking and beginning to create thoughts that lead us to positivity and positive action. Intentions are important but acting on them brings about a new reality. For example if we think we get sick we will bring that energy to us but if we wake up each day and think We are in a fit and healthy body going out into the world and meeting people having experiences and enjoying a healthy life changes are that will be your reality”

We discuss where fear, doubt and stress come from. Remember stress, fear and anxiety and doubt are all self-created illusions just projections of an untrained mind. They’re not real but we think they are. A projection like for example you’re going to give a speech and you get nervous because you are assuming something will go wrong. You’re projecting a negative assumption…You could just as easily project a positive thought like I’m going to enjoy sharing my ideas with this great group of people and am delighted to have this opportunity. So we see most people are going through life basing a lot of decisions on assumption rather than facts. Or we confuse assumptions with facts and end up arguing over pure fiction. So we need positive assumptions rather than negative to create a life past fear stress and doubt and we must begin to observe each thought and why we get unsettled by certain events or people which are responses to events in childhood where when something did not go as we expected we made assumptions and now in adulthood when the same or similar events happen we respond in a negative way. As we begin to know why we respond as we do and what makes us uncomfortable, we can eliminate situations that produce that response. We retrain our mind and are not bothered by those triggers.

We uncover the root cause of problems using The Five Whys methodology. First of all we learn to slow down to move faster and do less to accomplish more. To accomplish this we must identify key strategic leverage points—the root causes—so that one change at this level can change everything.

First stop thinking in terms of stress management and start thinking in terms of stress elimination, a complete paradigm shift. Now imagine a specialist using The Five Whys

Level 1 Why are you getting migraines. In this case the answer is you are not getting enough oxygen to your brain. Okay why is this so?

Level 2 Why are you not getting enough oxygen to the brain. Perhaps you have poor circulation in your neck. Level 3 Why do you have poor

circulation in your neck? Perhaps inflammation in your neck Level 4 Why do you have inflammation in your neck? Because you are favoring one side of your body to compensate.

Level 5 Why are you favoring one side? Because hips and spine are out of alignment. Trauma injury birth defect.. We may solve this problem by seeing a chiropractor or acupuncturist and not need a pharmacist. Solving this problem may solve your migraine headaches.

The truth is the root cause of all problems is the ego which exists to separate you from your true Source and from your neighbor. Through the eyes of the ego, everything and everyone is individual and separate. This leads to comparison, competition, resentment analysis, criticism, cynicism and judgment. We know we are attached to the ego mind set whenever we feel uneasy or bad. It blocks our well- being from our positive flow. This includes feelings of shame, guilt, apathy, grief, fear, lust, anger and even pride. All driven by the ego mind set.

Most people until there is a transformation or a moving past the illusions of this thought process consider it normal. However, your subconscious thoughts and programs reveal themselves through your tendencies or habitual habits, your autopilot and paying attention can reveal so much. If we tend to get nervous or angry it’s because of what we are thinking—either consciously or subconsciously. Your attitudes, your feelings and ultimately your behavior all stem from programs and beliefs you run on most of which are subconscious.

What is a paradigm shift? A shift may begin by first realizing that certain responses, thoughts and habits hold you in a less than productive energy and prohibit creating a more successful and happy state of being.

My family realized I had made some changes in my reactions when coming home from work my daughter Kathleen asked, “How was your day?” Jack’s normal response was to say demanding stressful and a bit chaotic, but he stopped himself realizing he tended to look at things negatively, and realized he was alive, working in a great company was having dinner with his wife and daughter and his son was doing well in college, so he had a lot to be thankful for. So instead of his usual response he answered “Well it was rather exciting,” and both his wife and daughter gave him a strange look. Kathleen responded in her usual way. “Well my day was stressful.” Jack realized she had always heard him and her mother talk about stress over and over. It was common language in their house. Kathleen went on to say she was worried about her school paper. It was the subconscious programming of fear and anxiety she had learned from me. So Jack said, “So you want to do well on this paper, but you are worried you won’t get it right. Is that accurate? Instead of using Jack’s normal strong pushy command and control style with authoritarian statements, he was using a pulling technique using empathy and thoughtful questions to understand and align with my daughter. To work well as a team we start by being on the same page. We need to start with the facts.

A paradigm shift sets everything back to zero and changes the rules you are operating under entirely. I guess it means learning to open your mind and challenge your preconceived notions.

How do we reprogram the subconscious mind to successfully change habits and sustain the change? For John it began with A Course In Miracles, a book and practice which may be a direct communication from Jesus. John feels a lot of what he has learned about Jesus through the church seems biased and skewed. The lessons in A Course in Miracles are quite short. You read them in the morning and then contemplate them throughout the day. It helps to use your time in a positive way and to help identify some subconscious habits and tendencies so change can happen. We learn perceptions are not necessarily reality. The earth appears flat when looking at the horizon but that is not the truth. The course teaches there is only one Truth with a capital T. It is universal. It is sacred. And it is not negotiable. There are no individual truths that contradict it or conflict with it. That’s what makes it Truth. And when we align with this Truth with this flow of positive divine energy and love, we experience miracles. There is a shift in perception, a correction so to speak.

The truth is we are all created in Love by God. We are innocent and ignorant as the rest of us. The course teaches us that we are never upset for the reason we think but because we see something that is not actually there. We can come to realize that there is the meaningful which resides within me and the meaningless which resides outside me. Learning to differentiate the two and focusing my efforts on my inner work is a crucial leverage point. We learn that fear is an ego- based reality and is essentially an illusion. It is self- created when we attach to the ego thought system which sees a meaningless world of chaos, sin and punishment. It is Truth then that sets us free by correcting our minds.

John discusses the Emotional Freedom Technique to help leaders eliminate stress, not just manage it. Emotional Freedom Techniques include guided meditation and help release stress and not just manage it, transforming thoughts, actions and lives. It helps begin a new way to lead from within with your soul essence.

ACIM like The Law of Attraction helps one understand that everything you see and experience is a form of energy, you become mindful of the frequencies you tune into and emit.

The Law of Attraction essentially means that whatever vibration we put out into the world we attract a similar vibration back. Each of these vibrations has an energetic frequency to it that is measurable and manageable. Like shame attracts more to be shameful of. Grief attracts more to grieve about. And it is measurable by applied kinesiology or muscle testing.

A mystic is someone who sees and thinks and lives beyond the ego thought system. Rather than get caught up in the dualistic way of the ego, the mystic is contemplative, accepting and forgiving. Perhaps the best example of this is Jesus the Buddha and prophets and saints.

John might like readers to take away with them after reading Miracle Minded Manager what perhaps his Holiness the Dali Lama wrote, “The purpose of our lives is to be happy.”

We thank John J. Murphy, author of Miracle Minded Manager for sharing lessons to overcome fear and eliminate stress both at work and home and how to apply the spiritual ideas of A Course in Miracles and the Law of Attraction to everyday challenges. We learn more about improving our thoughts and actions to defeat negative energy and improve health productivity and happiness in life.

In summarizing today’s episode of Healing From Within John has shown through a very engaging story of characters how he was able to recognize his own ego based negativities and illusions transforming his thoughts and actions and ultimately finding peace and happiness improving his professional home and all aspects of his everyday life.

John wrote , “Now that I know what is really going on in the world energetically, I know I need to release these negative thoughts and hostilities. They do nothing but attract more negativity into my life and weigh me down. And they almost destroyed my relationship with my dad. At least he has the courage to stand up to me and tell me what he really wants…..Life has really changed since I started A Course in Miracles. Or maybe it hasn’t and it just seems to have changed because of my shift in perception. Before ACIM everything seemed separate and independent. Life was chaotic, dramatic and stressful because of all the ups and downs and unfortunate things happening. Now life appears more like a symphony with perfect timing, harmony and balance…we have day and night life and death, continuous flow and emergence…Everything is happening for a reason. If things don’t work out as we plan and we learn something new in the process, how can we call it a failure. It’s simply an element of growth.”

John and I would have you know we are all here in this physical world to find the spirit and true nature of our magnificent soul inner being and the challenges we face as neither random or unnecessary as we each have everything we need to complete our life plan or destiny so begin to ask the questions that lead you to know yourself on an intimate level of acceptance and surrender rather than resist. The world and you are a wondrous miracle?
