In this episode, I explore the voices of self-hatred as a symptom of codependency. Drawing from the wisdom of The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, I talk about how these cruel inner voices are often learned and invite you to have the courage to question them and consider that they are not the truth of who you are.
They may have originated in someone else's words, in the way we were treated, in painful experiences we could not understand, or in the conclusions we made about ourselves in order to survive.
Over time, we begin gathering evidence to support those beliefs. We repeat the words. We reinforce the story. And long after the original harm has ended, we continue the abuse ourselves from within.
This episode is an invitation to begin questioning those voices—not by pretending they are not there, but by becoming curious about where they came from, whose voice they really belong to, and whether you are willing to continue allowing them to define the relationship you have with yourself.
An invitation into a powerful practices to unlearn these stories and support instead of shame the parts of you who were hurting. Who still are hurting and need love- not hate- to heal.
The voice of self-hatred may live inside you, but that does not mean it belongs to you.
