Chad Berry is an incredible friend I met while traveling + he shares the journey of his work, relationships, and sexuality. He started a brand strategy creative agency where he helps people with creating and developing their websites, brand strategy + photography. He is living in Sydney, but from Arizona. He started a passion project and it took him a while to validate his gifts, but being in quarantine made him realize it’s a huge part of his life. We go into self-reflection, expanding the depths of our conversations + communication + exploring new parts of ourselves. Acceptance is something we weren’t raised with and now we’re learning how to. We explore the quote "Being a jack of all trades and the master of none." This was a childhood programming he received + how it held him back, but he learned the full saying ends with "oftentimes better than a master of one."!!! As he stepped into his business he began getting a lot of messages from friends looking to create something with their passion projects. Then he was able to support them to step into their truth and watching it grow bigger than they imagined. Being a late bloomer at exploring different parts of ourselves, including our sexuality. I went to New Zealand a few years ago and decided to road trip up from the south island up to the north island by myself. I share my story of missing the ferry + not having money so needed a free place to stay. So I went on CouchSurfing and Matty responded right away!! I used to figuratively be like “Dump all of your pain onto me, so you no longer have to feel that heaviness. Let me alleviate it for you and let me absorb it all.” Then all of a sudden I feel so heavy, depleted and anxious. I was willingly taking on everyone’s junk. So lemme make this loud + clear, so you don’t have to do what I did — We don’t have to carry other people’s pains. Reminding you that setting a boundary doesn’t make you a bad person + it’s actually what usually causes the change you want to see in someone else. Also, begin to notice how others make you feel and what parts of you they bring out. If someone is bringing out your hurt, wounded parts of you, then see if that’s how you want to feel constantly. We get to choose who we want in our lives! Don’t you want the people closest to you to bring out the best version of you? You get to choose which “mirror” you want to look in all the time! Love youuuuu :)
