  • Erections: Performance Worries
Learn about the physiological response of the penis, how erections normally function, and what can be done when your member is on strike.Sexual health concerns everyone. Knowing what’s going on in a man’s world provides insight into his sexual well-being. Performance Challenges Men over age 50 have some degree of limited sexual response. While sexual response for men is largely physical, it riddles many with shame, guilt and embarrassment. Partners feel undesirable or worry about affairs when it’s just physical. Young men also face performance issues, but these are largely based on the assumption of what is normal. Learning the reality of biology helps reduce shame and disappointment when the body doesn’t respond on demand. Erection difficulties are often related to chronic diseases. Diabetes and heart disease affect overall health. Addressing the underlying issue can help. In fact, trouble getting or maintaining an erection is an early indication of heart disease. If it happens a few times, see your doctor. An erection typically lasts five to six minutes during intercourse. Upon climax, adrenaline is released in the body to shut down the erection and resume regular blood flow. Erectile supplements and medications support or stimulate the rise and fall of the erection. Men, know you are not alone when you don’t rise to the occasion when expected. Listen as Dr. Aaron Spitz joins Dr. Pamela Peeke to discuss erections and performance concerns. • Wrinkles: Aging Beautifully
What causes wrinkles and how can you age beautifully?Wrinkles aren’t a bad thing. The skin at the bottom of the fold is weaker than the skin at the top of the fold. Wrinkles are created through muscle contraction making facial expressions. Everyone has an asymmetrical face. It’s impossible to age symmetrically. Sun exposure, repetitive motion and genetics play a role in wrinkling. Ninety percent of your skin aging is due to lifestyle. Microneedling is a process where very small, sharp, defined needles are inserted into the skin to stimulate healing. Dermatologists use microneedling at appropriate depths with sterilized conditions. • Have You Been Duped?
Have you ever gotten caught up in someone's web of lies without realizing it? You are not alone.“How could someone as smart as you fall for that?” It’s embarrassing to admit you’ve been duped. People are quick to point out how gullible you were and how there’s no way they would’ve ever fallen for something like this. The truth is that smart people are often duped because they think they’re smart enough to avoid deception. Intelligent people can have willful blindness, ignoring gut instincts and giving people and situations the benefit of the doubt. No one wants to think they can be manipulated. Additionally, ignorance can be bliss, even when it’s willful ignorance.  Deception isn’t limited to romantic relationships. Jobs, organizations, families and communities can all be duplicitous. Being duped can be psychologically traumatic. Talking about it can reduce the shame and trauma. Learn from your past by removing the rose-colored glasses to see the red flags. Listen as Abby Ellin joins Dr. Pamela Peeke to share what it’s like to be duped, and how to avoid it in future. Sponsor: Smarty Pants Vitamins

  • Encore Episode: Pregnancy & Eating: What You Should Know
Eat wisely for your baby's best health. There’s a lot of information out there about what foods to avoid when pregnant. For one, you want to reduce toxicity prior to and while pregnant. Also, many women initiating a pregnancy are often overweight or obese. It's time to find out what you should eat. How Much Weight Should You Gain? Babies usually weigh between seven and nine pounds. Women of average weight are advised to gain between 37 and 54 pounds during pregnancy. Women with a BMI over 30 should only gain between 24 and 42 pounds. What Should You Eat? Cravings may urge you to eat processed foods. Remember, the foods you eat need to make your baby strong and healthy, and that does not include Twinkies. Eat foods that are rich in folic acids, especially during the first trimester. Spinach, beans, peas, avocado, Brussels sprouts, broccoli and dark leafy greens are full of folic acid. Increasing your fiber intake will reduce constipation, indigestion and heartburn. These digestive issues tend to present during the second trimester. Black beans are very high in fiber and are easy to incorporate in soups and salads. You really need healthy fats in the third trimester. Stick with salmon, avocado, dark chocolate, chia seeds, and nuts that are rich in fats. Smart Snacking Make a list of five items you love to eat. Keep them as staples so you aren’t forced to eat processed foods. Your hormones fluctuate so rapidly that you don’t want to be caught off guard. It may help to keep in mind that the food you eat when pregnant will affect your child’s health over a lifetime. Listen as Dr. Nicole Avena joins Dr. Pamela Peeke to discuss best eating habits for pregnancy. Sponsor: Smarty Pants Vitamins

  • Sexual Anti-Aging for Men
Find out sexual anti-aging tips for men and learn all about the penis.Ladies, someone you care about has a penis. It’s time to get familiar with the member so you understand more about men’s health. How Erections Happen Erections are reliant on blood flow. The penis has two balloon-like cylinders that fill with blood, prompted by signals from the brain. The adrenaline rush of release tells those cylinders to shut it down and let the blood return to regular circulation. Vascular health is imperative in erectile function. Hormones also play a role in the brain’s signals and the elasticity of the blood vessels in the penis. Type 2 diabetes affects many systems across the body. It degrades the cells and affects the spongy matrix of blood vessels involved in erections. When the arteries harden, cells in the penis become fibrotic. It’s like high blood pressure focused in the penis. Low Testosterone Testosterone production decreases with age. However, aging men are reaching their career peaks and working harder than ever before. The symptoms of low testosterone often mirror stress indicators: fatigue, depression, loss of sexual interest. Only a blood test will diagnose low testosterone levels. A physician can guide the supplement of one’s natural testosterone. Physical Fitness & Penis Health Nutrition and exercise can prevent (and sometimes reverse) penis aging. The blood vessels throughout the body can experience the effects of playing couch commando, going on benders and living off convenience foods. Exercise triggers the release of nitric oxide, fighting against the aging process. Green leafy vegetables can boost penis health. Listen as Dr. Aaron Spitz joins Dr. Pamela Peeke to shares all things sexual anti-aging for the men in your life. Sponsor: Smarty Pants Vitamins
