My beautiful, intelligent, amazing wife Tara is joining me on today’s episode of the House Flipping HQ Podcast to talk about how we balance business and family, what it’s been like working together, working from home, and how she manages to deal with someone as crazy as me on a daily basis!

Earlier this week, we asked you to send in any questions you had for the two of us, and we got a ton of responses!  We ended up spending almost an hour answering as many as we could.  

Unfortunately, we had a few technical difficulties when recording the video… so there are a few spots where the video stops and it’s only audio.     But my tech guy Kyle had some fun with it… you’ll see what I mean.

Episode 92: Show Notes

A few takeaways from today’s episode.

• Your “why” is the most important thing.  Never lose sight of it.  For us, that's family… so family ultimately comes first.
• When you first get started in this business, you may have to put in long hours to get the ball rolling.  Your spouse or partner needs to know this from the start and be on board with this.
• Communicate, communicate, communicate.  Make sure your spouse, partner, or loved ones feel heard and respected when decisions are being made.  Be completely open with each other!
• Set boundaries when needed, specifically around how much time you spend working versus how much time you spend with family.
• Similarly, if you don't have the discipline or the willpower at first to take the action and put in the hours you need to, you may have to be more strict and regimented with your time to make sure you're accomplishing what you need to accomplish.
• Physical exercise can work wonders, especially for your mind.  It helps reduce stress and clear your head.  You ABSOLUTELY should be exercising!
• The balance between family and business is constantly evolving for us!  How we handled it a few years ago is different than how we handle it now.  Find what works for you and your spouse, partner, or loved ones.
