The story of Prince Aemon the Dragonknight was too big for us to fit in one episode, but he wasn't too big for the cage that House Wyl put him in... which is where we left you hanging, with Aemon hanging over that pit of vipers. In this episode we discuss his rescue, and his rescue of his rescuer. This is his time as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, the era of King Baelor the Blessed, then Aemon's own father King Viserys II, then his unworthy brother Aegon IV with his beloved sister Naerys as Queen... and finally, his heroic death.

We enter story-mode with this one, so sit back and enjoy (part 1 of) the tale of Prince Aemon the Dragonknight, considered by many to be the perfect knight, but his family life was anything but.

A deep dive into the forbidden... though in some places it is openly encouraged! What it is, who practices it, and how it fits into various stories.

A (book only) look at a compelling character! From Myr to King's Landing, from the Red Temple to the Red Keep, from Aerys to Robert, from king's man to outlaw, from Gregor to Sandor, from wildfire swords to the flames of R'hllor, from skipping prayers to raising the dead, from cynic to faithful, from Beric to Stoneheart, from justice to survival... It's been a long journey for Thoros, and the Lord of Light is not finished with him yet.

Pirates, corsairs, monsters, ancient ruins, dark gods, disappearing  Ironborn, the next great swordsman(?), Valyria vs. Old Ghis, oily black stone and proximity to the dangers, wealth and proximity of Sothoryos...  even the name "Basilisk Isles" sounds cool. This one is fun!

We are joined by Daniele Bolelli of the History on Fire podcast for a comparison of historical families in the real world to those in HOTD/ASOIAF and their relative levels of lust for power and willingness to kill each other.

Centuries of Seahorses! From their time in Valyria all the way up to current times and what's next...

When is a gift not a gift? Euron's gifts are poisoned, but there are so many other examples. Crowns, high honors, famous swords and even wealth can "poison" the owner, and the pursuit of such can be devastating to the pursuer.

The 3rd installment of Parallel Lives! Stay tuned until the end for the preview of the next pairing, and let us know your guess for the next two characters.
