The latest episode of Land Grant Holy Land’s Horseshoe Hangover is here! Join Alex Frank and Ryan Weckstein as they help you get through any lingering feelings you may have from the weekend while recapping Ohio State’s latest game and looking ahead to the next game.
The No. 1 Buckeyes went into Champaign Saturday and beat a good Illinois team 34-16, and they were led by the defense forcing three turnovers that led to 21 points.
Alex and Ryan talk about how the Buckeyes' defense, once again, showed up and looked impressive. If this defense can continue to force turnovers, they're going to be even harder to beat. Plus, there are multiple players on this defense shooting up NFL Draft boards.
The Buckeyes' offense wasn't prolific on Saturday, but they didn't need to be. Five times the Buckeyes started drives in Illinois territory, so they didn't have to be prolific on offense. Ryan, though, is concerned about the conservative play-calling on Saturday and how it be an Achilles heel later in the season.
Ohio State is at Wisconsin next Saturday, a team in free fall. Until Michigan, the Buckeyes appear to have an easy? schedule that encompasses their next five games.
