The latest episode of Land Grant Holy Land's Horseshoe Hangover is here! Join Alex Frank and Ryan Weckstein as they help you get through any lingering feelings you may have from the weekend while recapping Ohio State's latest game and looking ahead to the next game.
We are back for Episode 2 of Horseshoe Hangover, and it is game week! The No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes take on the No. 1 Texas Longhorns Saturday at Ohio Stadium, with Big Noon Kickoff and College Gameday on site in Columbus.
Julian Sayin has been named the Buckeyes starting quarterback, which was expected throughout the Spring and early stages of Fall Camp. Ryan explains that now the biggest variable heading into Saturday's heavyweight matchup is what to expect from offensive coordinator Brian Hartline. This will be Hartline's first game as the Buckeyes primary offensive playcaller.
Ryan Day earned vindication for leading the Buckeyes to a National Championship this past January. But with a fanbase as passionate as the Buckeyes, that always has high expectations, Alex explains the two narratives we don't want to be talking about after the game on Saturday... narratives that could take away some or all of Day's vindication.
The last time these two teams met back in January, the Longhorns took Buckeyes superstar wide receiver Jeremiah Smith out of the game. This time, though, Alex has one matchup the Buckeyes can take advantage of and could decide the game on Saturday.
Alex and Ryan then give their biggest keys to the game and score predictions for Saturday's game and tease ahead to next week's episode, featuring comments Ryan Day made during Fall Camp about the College Football Playoff.
