Nicholas Alahverdian, also known as Nicholas Rossi and Arthur Knight, is an American sex offender who faked his own death in 2020.

He claimed to have suffered abuse and negligence in Rhode Island's Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) and unsuccessfully sued the DCYF in federal court in 2011.

He was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2020, and news outlets reported his death, but reports were disputed. In 2021, he was identified in a Scottish hospital, arrested in December on charges of alleged rape in Utah in 2008, and his identity was confirmed despite his claims of mistaken identity. A sheriff ruled he could be extradited to the United States in August 2023, pending confirmation by the Scottish government.

In this episode, we dive into the tragic story of Tim and Becky Bliefnick. They met in college and appeared to be the perfect couple, but their marriage took a dark turn. Tim filed for divorce, leading to a bitter custody and financial battle. Becky feared for her life and even told friends about her concerns. 

On February 23, 2023, tragedy struck as an intruder broke into Becky's home, shooting her 14 times. Suspicion quickly turned to Tim, who made incriminating internet searches, purchased a bike, and stalked Becky. 

Tim was found guilty of her murder and sentenced to life in prison. Becky's sister delivered a powerful victim impact statement during the trial, highlighting the devastating impact of Tim's actions.

In 2004, Marvin Heemeyer, an automobile muffler shop owner, went on a destructive rampage in Granby, Colorado, using a modified bulldozer armed with makeshift armor. He targeted town officials, neighbors, and businesses due to grievances over zoning, gambling legalization, and other conflicts. 

After fortifying the bulldozer, he demolished buildings including the town hall, newspaper office, and more. Despite firing rounds and explosions, the machine remained impervious. 

The rampage ended when he took his own life inside a hardware store. No one else was harmed, thanks to timely evacuations. Heemeyer's motives were linked to his opposition to a concrete plant's construction and other disputes.

n 2015, a murder-suicide case unfolded in Sand Lake, Michigan, involving Martin "Marty" Duram and his wife Glenna. The couple had financial troubles due to Glenna's gambling addiction, debts, and mismanagement of funds. Marty's house was about to be foreclosed. 

Suspicion arose when Marty's parents revealed that their pet parrot, Bud, repeated a chilling phrase resembling an argument between two voices. Glenna initially survived a gunshot wound to the head and was suspected to be responsible. However, the evidence didn't add up. Glenna later died from her injuries. The couple's deaths were believed to be a murder-suicide, but Glenna's erratic behavior and the evidence painted a more sinister picture.
