I can confidently presume that no one on the show, including Uncle Jesse and our lovely leading ladies, has any idea what’s happening in this season of The Bachelorette. It’s clear by the lack of detail, the confused facial expressions, and the glaring omission of rose ceremony roses that the entire production team threw all caution to the wind, confiscated a cruise ship, and decided right then and there to let the chips fall where they may.
In other words, there are no rules because the rulebook doesn’t exist. Luckily, Some Guy in Austin and I break down all the details, determined to figure out what exactly is going on in the mansion. For example:
My guess is yes. And don’t you dare try to stop them.

Hello everyone,
Well, my surgeon got COVID, and my knee surgery was postponed for two weeks. I allowed myself to be irrationally irritated for 24-hours before embracing the silver lining.
For example, Some Guy in Austin and I had the chance to podcast our thoughts and feelings concerning the young men who will be vying for the love of not one but two bachelorettes.
That’s right. Gabby and Rachel will be returning to your local ABC station on July 11. They are more than willing to help each other in their respective journeys to find love.
That is until they fall for the same guy and are forced to duke it out mud wrestling or pillow fighting each other to the death.
Winner takes all.

One quick note before I start. I am having knee replacement surgery and will probably be posting podcasts sporadically during the month of June. It just depends on how my body responds to everything. I assume that I should be fine since I’m receiving a surgery reserved for someone in their golden, but those who have read my book understand that my body doesn’t respond to things the way other bodies do. Thoughts and prayers to me, please, and thank you.
In more exciting news, my friends Todd, Lara, and I went to see Top Gun: Maverick, and it did NOT disappoint. In fact, it left us with so many revelations that we had to dedicate an entire episode to this film.
For example:
The answer to all inquiries is a resounding YES! So stop everything you’re doing right now, and go see this movie!

Hello everyone!
When Some Guy in Austin came to me suggesting we podcast about one of his types of movies, my first reaction was to turn my nose up at the thought of watching something boring on the History Channel. But then he dropped the name “Patrick Swayze,” and I was all ears.
Road House is awful. But it’s so good at the same time. Join us as Some Guy in Austin and I break down the fundamentals of bar fights, kickboxing, and the art of removing a bad guy’s trachea from his throat.

Hey everyone! Continuing with the celebration of romantic comedies and my book It’s a Love Story, I’ve asked Lara to come and talk about her favorite love story of all time: NOTTING HILL!
Join us as we sift through the timeline, spinning back to 1999 when all we worried about was Y2K and if there would be enough batteries in the world to sustain banking software. It was a simpler age. One where a nerdy travel bookshop owner could turn the head of a famous actress with one cheeky British accent.
Just listen to this storyline:
William Thacker is a London bookstore owner whose humdrum existence is thrown into romantic turmoil when famous American actress Anna Scott appears in his shop. A chance encounter over spilled orange juice leads to a kiss that blossoms into a full-blown affair. As the average bloke and glamorous movie star draw closer and closer together, they struggle to reconcile their radically different lifestyles in the name of love.
Notting Hill taught us that English gardens are charming, and declaring “whoopsy daisy” is equally endearing when falling off a fence. There is such a thing as prescription goggles, and they can be used in a pinch when racing to the movie theater. And if all else fails, never give the “sad life” brownie to the woman who just made four million dollars for her last picture. It’s not worth it.

Y’all, I went back and forth if I should confess this or not, and I decided that the Internet is forever, and this information is totally Google-able.
I thought this was the first time I have ever discussed greatest hits albums on my podcast. Something felt very déjà vu about the afternoon I recorded with Some Guy in Austin. But I kept blowing off the feeling that I had done this before. I assured myself that it was a blog post I had written a decade ago, when in fact, it was an early podcast episode in 2018.
So I added “Volume 2” to the title and called it a day.
This episode goes out to those of you who remember one hundred percent of the time that you have a bad memory. You’re my people.

This month, we are doing things a little differently with a love series (sponsored by my book: It’s a Love Story” soon to celebrate three years of existence next week – THAT IS CRAZY.
In this episode, I discuss My Best Friend’s Wedding with Mama.
Did you know that My Best Friend’s Wedding celebrates its 25th anniversary this summer? Can you believe it’s been that long since we felt horrible for sort of rooting for Jules wants to steal Michael back? (Sorry, Kimmy!)
My Best Friend’s Wedding taught us, “If you love someone, you say it, right then, out loud.” We learned that you could be chartreuse with envy. The best place to have an intervention is in an elevator. Diabolical plans to screw up a wedding rarely work. And, “YOU’RE NEVER GONNA BE JELL-0.”
But most importantly, Mama tells us that sucking an engagement ring off a finger is attractive. I’ve never personally experienced this phenomenon, and I didn’t ask my mother how she knew because I was too busy hiding behind a couch cushion.
