Hello everyone!
Well, it was a wild and crazy second week. One that left Katie dropping hardcore F-bombs, not once but twice in a matter of twenty-four hours. I’m not sure if you picked up on this, but some individuals may not be here for the right reasons.
Some Guy in Austin discuss this reality, along with some other things we noticed, such as:
Some Guy has a theory. And it involves moonshine.

Who knew that when Katie sauntered up to Matt James with an adult toy in hand, she would one day be forever memorialized as the twenty-fifth woman to hold the title of Bachelorette? She’s “sex-positive,” and if you don’t like it, you can hit the road, buster.
Some Guy in Austin and I break down week one of Katie’s journey to find love. So what floats this woman’s boat? We determined it’s handsome suitors in very tight-fitting pants, anyone who knows how to toss out a sexual innuendo, a shaggy haired brunette with a boyish charm, and a grown man who feels uber confident in a catsuit.
This guy DEFINITELY did his homework. You go Connor. Meow.

I’m excited to have Some Guy in Austin back to discuss what we’ve all been waiting for since we found out that Katie is our next bachelorette. It’s time to meet the 29 suitors who left their marketing, insurance, entrepreneurial, and former baseball player jobs to try their hand at love on a hot mess of a reality dating show.
Some Guy and I break down our favorites, our dark horses, and the jackwagons we feel will parade around the mansion in New Mexico like they own the place.
I’m looking at you, Gabriel.

Hello everyone!
I’m excited to have my roommate Lara join me on today’s podcast to discuss none other than country music sensation, Thomas Rhett. You should know that when I asked Lara to tell me three songs she would recommend you listen to, she looked at me like I had horns growing out of my head.
I’m supposed to let the record show that she loves all his songs, but she played by the rules because this is my show.

Listen, I’m so glad Some Guy in Austin picked 16 Candles as his favorite movie as we finish up the Love Story Series. How I’ve managed to record nineteen of these episodes without mentioning this John Hughes classic is a mystery.
Just listen to this FUN synopsis:
With the occasion all but overshadowed by her sister’s upcoming wedding, angst-ridden Samantha faces her 16th birthday with typical adolescent dread. Samantha pines for studly older boy Jake Ryan but worries that her chastity will be a turnoff for the popular senior. Meanwhile, Samantha must constantly rebuff the affections of nerdy Ted, the only boy in the school, unfortunately, who seems to be interested in her.
16 Candles taught us many lessons. We all have devastating stories from high school, most families are dysfunctional at some level, and even though the nerdy kid has endeared himself to you, never give him your underwear.
But the biggest lesson is that it IS POSSIBLE for two grown people to sit on top of a glass dining room table without it breaking.
Call me, Jake. I’d like to re-enact that moment at your earliest convenience.

Hey everyone!
To honor Mother’s Day, I asked Mama to come on the show and visit one of her favorite movies for my love story series, which celebrates my book, It’s a Love Story. I still can’t believe it is two years old!
If you recall, the last time Mama was a part of this series, she chose Pretty Woman, and because of the subject matter concerning Vivian’s line of work, I had to bleep out every time she said the word that rhymes with looker or booker.
Naturally, Mama did it again when we discussed The Wedding Planner. Be prepared for a rather large tangent concerning my mother’s former career as a computer teacher and the eighth-grade boys who liked to steal her mouse balls.
Like those eighth grade boys, I laugh a lot as she tells the story that has nothing to do with weddings or planning.

Because we are hardcore pop culture fanatics who want to provide our color commentary on one of the most anticipated nights of film making, Todd, Lara, and I watched all seventeen hours of the 2021 Oscars so we could bring you the latest and greatest Hollywood superstar winners, according to The Academy.
We have lots of thoughts. Unfortunately, eighty percent of them have nothing to do with the actual movies, since between the three of us, we watched a total of two nominated films.
HOWEVER, I can tell you that it was a banner night.
Was the broadcast hella awkward and mostly boring? You bet. Did Todd and Lara make me laugh twelve times during this podcast despite that fact? Of course, they did. Will you join Lara in her quest to have the world respect the one movie she watched in 2020, and will you join her aggressive Twitter campaign that Wonder Woman 1984 should have won for best hair?
Please, and thank you.

We are doing things a little differently this month with the love series (sponsored by my book: It’s a Love Story” soon to celebrate two years of existence next week – THAT IS CRAZY.
In this episode, I’m discussing Save the Last Dance with my roommate Lara. Yes, this was my first time watching this movie, and your guess is as good as mine as to what I was doing in January 2001 to miss out on a dance film that is clearly in my wheelhouse.
Teenagers? Love story? Dancing? Yes, please.
Additionally, Lara and I take time to talk about other things we enjoyed twenty years ago, apart from Sean Patrick Thomas. This includes The Gap, Abercrombie, and Dr. Martens boots. We also discuss our love for Kerry Washington and our hatred of water parks.
Join us, won’t you, as we hip hop down memory lane!

We are doing things a little differently this month with the love series (sponsored by my book: It’s a Love Story soon to celebrate two years of existence – HOLLA! This week I’m discussing Hope Floats with my rocket scientist/author friend Rebecca.
That’s right. She’s both left brained and right brained.
Of all the romantic movies in the world, I’m glad Rebecca picked Hope Floats. Why?
Exhibit A. Harry Connick, Jr.
Exhibit B. Harry Connick, Jr. in a straw cowboy hat.
Exhibit C. This plot line:
Birdee Pruitt has been humiliated on live television by her best friend who’s been sleeping with Birdee’s husband, Bill. Birdee tries starting over with her daughter, Bernice, by returning to her small Texas hometown, but she’s faced with petty old acquaintances who are thrilled to see Birdee unhappy — except for her friend Justin. As he helps Birdee get back on her feet, love begins to blossom.
Thank the good Lord that love REALLY begins to blossom on the dance floor. Who wouldn’t fall for a handsome cowboy two-stepping in a barn with a glittery horse saddle posing as a makeshift disco ball?
Sign me up.
