Sponsorship deals are increasingly common between football teams and sportsbooks in Latin America, and sports betting regulations in the city and the province of Buenos Aires have paved the way for new agreements between these companies and clubs.
Home of football legends like Maradona, Riquelme and, loath or love him, Carlos Tevez, Boca Juniors this week signed a deal with the global operator Betsson, which will stamp its brand on the front of the team’s jersey.
This is only the most recent agreement signed by an Argentinian team, but teams like River Plate, Velez and Newell’s are also navigating the sportsbook sponsorships world.
In this latest episode of iGaming Daily, sponsored by SBC Summit Latinamerica, James Ross is joined by Lucía Mouriño , Head of B2B Media, LatAm at SBC and Fernando Noodt, Business Journalist at SBC Noticias.

Guest host Craig Davies (editor of CasinoBeats and SlotBeats) speaks to the gaming team - Conor Porter and Danny Lee - about the continuing criticism around innovation in the development of casino slots. Where is the innovation in the sector? Is innovation even the correct term to use? Do slot managers even want to be bothered by slots that don't fit neatly into their casino lobby? Or will the slot studios eventually eat themselves by releasing endlessly reskinned clones?

Previously under reported – ‘regulatory surveillance’ has crept up on the igaming industry’s lexicon and agenda during 2023.
A somewhat frightening and all-encompassing term is the regulatory surveillance of gambling licences being defined by governments and authorities across Western Europe’s markets ever-changing regulatory landscape.
Tough adjustments followed igaming’s transition from its era of Merger & Acquisition consolidation to its current “age of compliance” and the question on today’s episode of iGaming Daily, sponsored by SBC Summit Barcelona, is what conflicts will follow as industry heads towards its potential dawn of surveillance.
And joining James Ross to talk about all things regulatory surveillance is Ted Menmuir, Content Director at SBC and Martyn Elliott, SBC’s Senior Media Manager.

The industry has been fanatical about Fanatics since the second-wave sportsbook has started to roll out in the States. What was already an intriguing proposition is turning into some salacious gossip as DraftKings has entered a second bid to compete with Fanatics’s offer to purchase the US arm of PointsBet.
The $195m offer is 30% higher than the one put forth by Fanatics but it is currently non-binding. However, DraftKings has persuaded PointsBet to at least entertain their bid in advance of a 30 June vote by the PointsBet board.
On today’s episode of iGaming Daily, sponsored by SBC Summit Barcelona, Jessica Welman, Editor at SBC Americas, and Senior Journalist Charlie Horner break down the drama and try to read the tea leaves on the future of PointsBet US.

Call it déjà vu, but Entain once again dominates industry headlines, as the firm orders a £600m bookbuild to acquire STS Group – Poland’s market leading bookmaker - for £750m.
Q2 trading alone has seen it commit almost £1bn in merger and acquisition deals, as STS Group joins 365Scores and Tidal Esports as new properties adding to the ever-expanding portfolio of Entain.
The STS deal saw Entain leadership once more pull the trigger on its ‘local hero’ buyout strategy…Yet this time leadership’s M&A moves have been called out by US investor Eminence Capital as “value-destroying by diluting the company’s shareholding”.
Joining Martyn Elliott on the latest episode of iGaming Daily, sponsored by SBC Summit Barcelona, is Ted Menmuir, Content Director at SBC Media and Ted Orme-Claye, Senior Journalist at SBC News and Lottery Daily.

This will include athletes – whether active or retired – as well as cartoon figures, social media influencers and other celebrities and entertainers.
And this will be the topic of today's iGaming Daily podcast, sponsored by SBC Summit Barcelona, where James Ross is joined by Paul Burns, President and CEO of the Canadian Gaming Association.
