On this week's episode I tell Russ all about the book that spawned the true crime genre; In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. A wholesome small town in Kansas was shaken when a well known innocent family was brutally murdered in their home. Truman Capote heard about it all the up in New York City and decided to go down to Holcomb Kansas and investigate it for himself. He had no idea that this would lead to a novel that would change the literary world as well as lead to his own undoing. Moral of the story... when the line between objective journalism and personal connection gets blurred, things can get very messy.
