Listen to episode 708 of the Inspirational Living podcast: The Most Important Element of Success in Life. Edited and adapted from The Power of Mental Demand by Herbert Edward Law.
Inspirational Podcast Excerpt: There is no element so important to a successful business or a successful life as enthusiasm. Yet it is an element often not thoroughly understood, or very accurately measured. It is rarely given the degree of importance to which it is entitled. Indeed, it is often neglected altogether.

Listen to episode 707 of the Inspirational Living podcast: How to Get More Happiness & Prosperity From Your Work. Edited and adapted from Stepping Stones to Success by Horace D. Hitchcock.
Inspirational Podcast Excerpt: Efficiency in the business world means doing less work and getting more for it. In life it means conserving energy, avoiding waste, and getting more pleasure, happiness, and prosperity from your efforts. It’s been said that the average person is only fifteen to twenty per cent efficient. That is, we do only about one-fifth of what we might do.

Listen to episode 706 of the Inspirational Living podcast: Live a Life Worthy of Immortality. Edited and adapted from Making a Life by Cortland Myers.
Inspirational Podcast Excerpt: A noble purpose is life's guarding, guiding angel. It alone can take us safely through a lion's den. In one hand it holds safety, and in the other success. A high ideal is a lever under your life, and means the elevation of your character. The person who is satisfied with their first effort, or their first step, or their first attainment, never reaches greatness. A nagging dissatisfaction is essential to future achievement. A deeper longing precedes every bolder attempt. Look higher, if you would live higher.

Listen to episode 705 of the Inspirational Living podcast: Life's Magic Formula & The Secrets of Success. Edited and adapted from Four Minute Essays by Dr. Frank Crane.
Inspirational Podcast Excerpt: Many people have philosophies of life, ideas on the subject of happiness, and dreams of success that are ludicrous and unfounded. I have met millionaires, successful business people, learned professors, gifted artists, and able preachers who have not the slightest notion of how to be happy.

Listen to episode 704 of the Inspirational Living podcast: How to Face Life & Middle Age. Edited and adapted from How to Face Life by Stephen Samuel Wise.
Inspirational Podcast Excerpt: If youth initiates, middle age achieves most and best serves. It best achieves because it is a time of fullness of intellectual strength and firmness of moral will. And it best serves because the excesses of self have been (or ought to have been) burnt out — leaving the capacity of selfless endeavors unrelated to personal gain or private advantage. The middle age that people find bare and unsatisfying is, in truth, only found among those who have not mastered the two arts of life: achieving and serving.

Listen to episode 703 of the Inspirational Living podcast: The Keystone of Life | Success Podcasts. Edited and adapted from The Business of Life by Asa Bushnell ZuTavern and Albert Ernest Bullock.
Inspirational Podcast Excerpt: Of the equipment necessary for life’s journey, the pinnacle is character. After all is said and done, our fate is supported entirely by the type of character we possess or develop. Character is the keystone of life. If you have it, you don’t need to have much of anything else.
Perhaps no other word in the English language is used more and understood less than the term character. Many confuse character with personality, but there is little, if any, relationship between the two words...

Listen to episode 702 of the Inspirational Living podcast: Building an Attractive and Charming Personality. Edited and adapted from The Business of Life by Asa Bushnell ZuTavern and Albert Ernest Bullock.
Inspirational Podcast Excerpt: The study of personality is extremely valuable, whether in the business, social, or political world — for it helps us to correct our own shortcomings, and to make our journey of life with others much easier. It also helps us to select our associates, and to know those people with whom we can deal agreeably in business, as well as those with whom we cannot deal without having unpleasant experiences.

Listen to episode 701 of the Inspirational Living podcast: Success Requirements in Work & Life. Edited and adapted from The Business of Life by Asa Bushnell ZuTavern and Albert Ernest Bullock.
Inspirational Podcast Excerpt: Imagination is important to success. But it is not the only thing required. You also need initiative, for while imagination thinks things, initiative does things. Initiative is doing what should be done without being told to do it. There is a proverb that says opportunity is hiding behind every corner. And it is — but only initiative finds it.
Remember that it is always possible to give a new slant to an old idea; therefore have the courage to begin things. We learn by doing. Most people imitate. Leaders initiate.

Listen to episode 700 of the Inspirational Living podcast: Success Requirements in Work & Life. Edited and adapted from The Business of Life by Asa Bushnell ZuTavern and Albert Ernest Bullock.
Inspirational Podcast Excerpt: What Is Success? A complete definition of success, satisfactory to all people, has perhaps never been found. Each person has their own idea of what success means to them, and this idea keeps changing with the passing of time. To some people, success means fame; to some it means fortune in money; to others it means only love and happiness. Young people, especially, are inclined to think that success is indicated by the accumulation of material wealth.
It is true that the successful person is able to manage their affairs in such a way that they are at all times self-sustaining and able to enjoy security, but it does not follow that they MUST amass a fortune. Success means far more than mere money-getting.
