Zoraida is a director of accounting. She started exploring intermittent fasting as a way to find a sustainable solution after having her children. She had experimented with various diets but nothing seemed to provide lasting results. Everything changed when she picked up Gin's book Delay, Don't Deny, prompting her to start her own IF journey on April 19, 2020.

Zoraida shares the numerous health benefits she's experienced since starting intermittent fasting. She was pre-diabetic with high insulin levels. Following her IF lifestyle, she's seen improvements in her insulin markers, reduced inflammation, she gained mobility, and even began fitting into her old clothes again. These victories extended beyond the scale, contributing to her overall well-being and confidence.

Zoraida discusses the impact her intermittent fasting journey has had on her family. Her children have followed suit in adopting healthier eating habits, and though her son was initially skeptical about fasting, he has become more curious about its benefits. For many years, she struggled with emotional eating and used food for comfort. This created both weight gain and shame. By 2019, Kym was over 200 pounds and knew that she needed to do something about her weight. When Kym discovered Delay, Don’t Deny, she felt that IF was the answer to her weight battle.

Mari is a retired dance movement therapist and a retired family and child therapist.

Growing up, Mari was a dancer and always felt she needed to be thinner. She followed a variety of diets and lost weight but would gain it back, plus more. After a major illness, Mari put on weight that she could not lose. Looking back, she sees that this began a battle with her body. When Mari reached 154 pounds, she gave up.

Melissa is a real estate agent.  Growing up, she was never skinny but wanted to be. She tried many diets, and she tracked calories and measured food, but could never sustain the weight loss.

Tawnya is a program specialist. She was overweight from the time she was a young girl. She followed countless diets and by the time she reached her highest weight of 265 pounds, she simply gave up.

At the end of 2021, Tawnya’s health began to suffer. She was prediabetic, she had high blood pressure and sleep apnea, and she suffered from migraines. Feeling miserable, Tawnya decided to take charge of her health. She found Gin, as well as her IF books podcasts through several Google searches.

Charles is a retired business owner. He did not struggle with his weight until his forties. By 2015, he found himself at 245 pounds, he was pre-diabetic, and he felt miserable.

Judith is a minister and wedding officiant. She struggled with her weight for many years. She followed numerous diet programs over the years. But by Easter of 2021, Judith found herself at 405 pounds. She knew something must change and in her search for yet another diet, stumbled upon intermittent fasting. Judith immediately began her IF journey and lost 30 pounds of inflammation with ease.

Shelly is a retired executive assistant. Though Shelly never truly struggled with her weight, she never felt thin enough. For many years, she followed medical diets and used diet pills, but would always gain back the weight.

But if you’re looking for support from a community of like-minded IFers, we are here for you at ginstephens.com/community. Emma is a life coach and studying to be a health coach. She struggled with her weight as a young girl and was put on her first diet at the age of 12. She struggled with bulimia in her teens but was able to heal from it.

In 2018, Emma was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome. In her search to reduce inflammation, Emma stumbled upon one of Gin’s IF podcasts. She began her IF journey and lost weight, but with the pandemic lockdown and the loss of her father, gained what she lost. IF became inconsistent.

In March of 2023, Emma decided to restart her IF journey. While weight loss has been slow, Emma loves how IF makes her feel.

Emma’s advice: Don’t compare yourself to others. Prepare yourself to be a study of one!
