Crystal works in the biotech industry. She shares that she spent many years on many diets, and struggled with an eating disorder as a teenager. She recovered, but for years after, her relationship with food was damaged.

Kelly is a physical therapist, and has her own practice. Growing up, Kelly was a swimmer, and very lean. She continued to swim through college, but when she graduated, her swimming career came to an end. She got married, and experienced five miscarriages. Kelly found herself eating to cope with the sorrow. “It was emotional trauma, and I began to punish my body with food." Her weight steadily climbed, and eventually Kelly was at her highest weight of 212 pounds.  

At this same time, Kelly was diagnosed with Diastasis Recti, which is a condition where the abdominal muscles separate. This diagnosis began a journey to heal her core, which also led Kelly to start her own practice, The Tummy Team. Kelly was passionate to help others with this same condition. 

With the success of her practice, Kelly knew it was time to do something about her weight. A friend shared intermittent fasting with her, and she quickly read Fast Feast Repeat. In the first 28 days, Kelly dropped 15 pounds, and knew IF would be something she'd do the rest of her life. "I enjoy the graciousness of this lifestyle," Kelly exclaims. She has lost 50 pounds, and feels wonderful. 

The advice she'd give the new IFer: "It's okay to start with small steps. You don't have to be perfect. It's all a process."

Julia recently received a degree in Public Health. Growing up, she never struggled with her weight. She was always active in sports, and played soccer in college. Julia learned about IF from her mother, who was already an intermittent faster. She decided to give IF a try after hearing it would help with mental clarity. She began her IF journey in January of 2020 with 19:5, which felt easy and natural. Prior to IF, Jordan did not struggle with her weight. She shares that while living in Ecuador, she contracted parasites. The parasites caused a long battle with weight loss, rashes and digestive distress. This would eventually lead her to the IF lifestyle.

Jackie is a stay-at-home-mom from Kalamazoo, Michigan. Jackie shares that she struggled with her weight after having children, and she would follow Weight Watchers or Diet Bet to lose the weight. 

Jackie learned of IF through her church, where they did a yearly fast as a congregation. Then a friend told her about Fast Feast Repeat. 

During early days of the pandemic, "all we did was cook and bake," she remarks. Jackie began her IF journey in the Summer of 2020. She began with 18:6, and gradually moved to 20-22 hour fasts.

Kris is a Deaconess at a local church. She shares that she was always thin, but after getting married and having children, began to struggle with her weight. 

Kris learned of IF from a close friend whose doctor had recommended it. Kris read both Delay, Don't Deny and The Obesity Code, and began her IF journey on July 1, 2019. She started with 16:8, and easily moved to 18:6. Kris knew right away that IF would be something she would do for the rest of her life. This mindset helped her to settle into this new lifestyle. 

Kris went from her highest weight of 190 pounds to around 152-155 pounds, and from a size 14 to a size 8-10. She has experienced wonderful health benefits: her skin tags, mouth sores and plantar fasciitis are gone, and she is no longer prediabetic! 

Kris' advice to the new IFer: Take "before" pictures. Know that IF is going to be your normal way of life. Let go of expectations. Think of how great you'll feel three months from now!

Lanice is a retired teacher. She shares that she never struggled with her weight until having children, which began the constant search to find the perfect diet. Stacy is a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines. Stacy tried every diet, detox and diet pill, always looking for the "next thing."  

Stacy found IF in September of 2017 through Melanie Avalon's book, What When Wine. This helped Stacy to understand IF and why it worked. Angie is the mother of a special needs daughter. Angie was always "the bigger girl" amongst her friends. But it wasn't until after her pregnancy that she began to diet.  

In 2017, Angie first learned of IF from a walking buddy, but dismissed it entirely. Two years later, Angie realized her weight was affecting her ability to lift her daughter in and out of the wheelchair. In December of 2019, Angie came across the Delay, Don't Deny Facebook group, and joined. Angie's sister and sister-in-law decided they would all IF together!  

By January of 2020, Angie had lost 20 pounds. She has gone from 150 to 130 pounds. She is 4'11” and hopes to lose more weight over time.  

Angie has experienced decreased inflammation, her skin tags have fallen off, and scars have healed. She now has energy to care for her daughter. 

Angie's advice: " Be gentle with yourself. You didn't gain the weight overnight, and it won't fall off tomorrow! But be consistent, and it will happen eventually."

In 2016, Cynthia found IF after several of her patients asked her about it. She did her research, and learned the science behind why IF is vital to our health. Cynthia began her own IF journey, and remarks, "IF was a love fest all at once!" Cynthia also began to incorporate IF with her patients. 

In 2018, Cynthia did a Ted Talk on women and IF, and it went viral. She has been awarded Health Influencer of the Year, and is highly respected in the world of IF.
