Its our first episode of 2023 and we couldn't be more excited! A New Year marks new beginnings, new habits and new resolve. But what are the things you'd like to leave in 2022? This week, the girls went round the table sharing theirs! Also, Sheila's back on the podcast and we're loving it!
With love from Julia, Kwambox & Sharon.
We recently came across an interesting stand-up comedian who basically insinuated that women tend to "friendzone' potential suitors and end up with men that are below par. Charles Murito was back on the mic and had a lot to say about this!! This was such a fun 'reaction' episode; we'd love to hear your thoughts. Drop us a voicenote on our Instagram page @itsrelatedipromise.

Have you ever watched a Kenyan Movie? What is your favourite one? While Kenya is not known for its film industry, there are have been several films that have been critically acclaimed. This week we had an interesting debate with Carol Kioko- a Kenyan filmmaker who leads the 48 Hour Film Project in Kenya- on why Kenyans don't watch Kenyan films. There is no data to back this up, but its definitely worth a conversation! What do you guys think? Drop us a voicenote on @itsrelatedipromise.

We recently came across a tweet where the user was asking "Why don't young people to church anymore, especially if you raised in the church?" This sparked an interesting debate! We invited Carol Kioko, a well known filmmaker... and more relevant to this conversation, a Christian, who has been brought up in the church and shares interesting thoughts as to why this trend has been happening. What are your thoughts? Please send us a voice note on @itsrelatedIpromise
This week, Julia and Sharon share advice they would give to their younger-selves. A really heart warming session, this was! What advice would you have for your younger self? Please send us a voicenote on our instagram page @itsrelatedIpromise.

This week we played a round of Sibling Tag, where we invited our siblings to answer random questions about us and our childhood! Wueh, the stories are LIT! Thank You @LoiseMachira & @derrickgaitho for dropping by, its was such a pleasure hosting you both! We'd love to hear from you, what's your favourite memory with your siblings? Send us a voicenote!

Ever thought about the intersection of Love & Economics? Well, neither did we, until we had an economist join in on the fun! This week we invited Wangari Muikia, a decorated Kenyan economist to give us lessons on loves from the perspective of an economist. What shall we do next, lessons on love from a Lawyer? A Pastor? A Politician? Loool. Let us know in the comments!
Quick Bio about Wangari, she is a decorated economist who specialises in Public Financial Management for governments in Africa. She’s worked in senior positions at the National Treasury in Kenya, The World Bank in Washington DC, and Dalberg Global Advisors in New York, Switzerland, Tanzania and Kenya. Her work focuses on analysis of fiscal decentralization but today she was our love doctor (LOL). Lots of exciting takeways on this episode! We’d love to know your thoughts on Love & Economics; you know the drill, drop us a voicenote on our @itsrelatedipromise instagram.
With love from Julia Gaitho, Muthoni Muchiri and Sharon Machira.
Love versus Compatibility; What matters more in a relationship? This week we all differed on this one. But one thing we all agreed on, is that you need a bit of both. We invited Sharon's colleague ,Charles Murito, who is a whooole exec at Google, to join in on the fun and give a male perspective. He leads Policy & Government Affairs at Google Africa but today he's here to talk about policies that govern the heart! LOOOL.

Reality shows are now a dime a dozen, but back in 2010 (12 years ago) it was a still nascent industry. This week , Kwambox shares her experience on Big Brother Africa which catapulted her into stardom across the continent. But behind the glitz and glam she opens up about her struggle with anxiety brought on by the fame. We also share our experiences being in the limelight and the pressure that brings to maintain a certain image. Let us know your thoughts on reality shows; and if you could join a reality show, which one would it be and why?
With love from Julia Gaitho, Muthoni Muchiri & Sharon Machira.
