Jim Erickson grew up in a small town in North Dakota. He got involved in boxing at a young age.
he was a boxing coach for 15 years.
He was appointed to the ND Athletic Commission and was leading the commission as ND became
one of the first states in the country to Sanction MMA in 2006.
In 2008 he became the Executive Director of the Dept of Athletic Regulation for the Mille Lacs Band of
Ojibwe Indians in MN.
In 2015 He accepted the position of Combative Sports Program Assistant Manager for the state of TX.
He also served as the Vice President of the Association of Boxing Commissionsfor 10 years.
