We can all agree: gut health is one of the most important aspects of wellness and well-being. An imbalanced gut is the precursor to an imbalanced life; whether that results in an increased prevalence of diseases and chronic health issues, or weakened immune systems and mental health resilience.
In today’s episode, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Dasha Agoulnik. As you’ll learn, Dasha’s road to her current position has been long, winding, and rich with experience. Her background in medicine and love for biochemistry sets her apart from standard Registered Dietitians, which is how she is currently making an impact in her clients’ and patients’ lives.
Dasha is also the founder of Core Perform, an evidence-based supplement company that offers products to lower bloat and inflammation. If you’re in the hunt for a delicious, gut-friendly protein powder, her Maple Banana Bread blend is a guaranteed hit!
Throughout this episode, Dasha shares her thoughts on the importance of balancing the gut-brain axis, gut microbiota and flora, and our stress levels. She also describes the catalyst that motivated her to pursue a career as a Registered Dietitian, as well as what she hopes to accomplish in her field. Her experience with sports and performance enriches this conversation, and those she has on her social platforms. Whether you’re an athlete or a mom of two, you’ll walk away from this conversation equipped to improve your gut health in 2023.
“I completely agree that you are what you eat. But even further than that, I like to say: you are not what you eat, you are what you absorb.” – Dasha Agoulnik

“I think we’re always in our journey, evolving and growing, to be able to help and serve the person that we were a decade ago or even prior to that. So when I first started my health and fitness journey, a lot of the concepts I talk about in the book were things that were argued about in social media or there was a lot of misinformation or misapplication of those concepts. It wasn’t necessarily something I was presented in a super digestible fashion.” – Sam Miller

In this episode of The Cured Collective Podcast, we chat with Emily Hayden. Emily is an IFBB Pro Bikini Athlete and mindset, nutrition, and training coach for elite athletes. She is the founder of Evolve, a 90-Day program that specializes in transforming her clients from self-judgment, overwhelm, and negativity to confidence, excellence, and daily success.
This episode was first recorded during the CURED Elevation Challenge when Emily sat down with the community to share her thoughts on the role of exercise and movement in maintaining mental health. During this conversation, she speaks to daily practices (like exercise and cold exposure) as a lifestyle treatment for depression and anxiety.
Although many individuals think of motivation as a prerequisite for working out, Emily explains that the opposite is actually true. Exercising is what fuels our motivation to move through our days with even greater clarity and productivity.
Putting our bodies into new (and uncomfortable) environments is one of the most critical keys to unlocking new mindsets. When we are able to move beyond our comfort zones, we tap into new levels of our potential.

In this episode of The Cured Collective Podcast, we sit down with Neil Markey, co-founder and CEO of Beckley Retreats, to discuss the healing power of psilocybin. The Beckley Foundation is a charitable organization set up by Amanda Feilding in 1998 to initiate and carry out pioneering research into the therapeutic potential of psychedelics, and to create a scientific base for global drug policy reform.
Their aim is to harness the power of science in order to integrate psychoactive substances into society as safe and effective tools, to treat a broad range of health conditions and enhance wellbeing. Beckley Retreats offers a comprehensive, eleven-week program, dedicated to providing individuals with the tools they need to cultivate meaningful change.
Neil is passionate about sharing the science-backed benefits of psychedelics in conjunction with the contemplative practices that support holistic wellbeing. In this new episode, we discuss the multifaceted, ever-nuanced concept of “creating our reality”. Our personal realities are the culmination of our daily thoughts, feelings, actions, and behaviors; or in one word, our habits. Bridging the gap between who we are and who we desire to be (or who we envision as our Higher Self) is a layered process.
First, we must notice if and where we are not currently showing up in our lives in the highest possible way. Second, we must take inventory of the daily changes required to embark on our own journey of self-transformation. We may find it helpful to ask, “How would my future self, or my Higher Self, show up in this situation?” Third, we must cultivate an unshakeable resolve in bringing our Higher Self into the current picture.
If we do this, we naturally become the person of our dreams and desires.
This process is influenced by where and with whom we spend our time; such as, our careers, our hobbies, our relationships, and so on.
In work and in business, our behavior is a direct reflection of our integrity and our inner life. The culture of the company we work for or manage influences how we show up in our personal lives; which inevitably impacts our family and friends, our communities, our cities, and on and on it goes. Professional and personal are truly indistinguishable.
It’s time to ask ourselves: Are we creating a reality that we are comfortable with, confident in, and proud of? Not only for ourselves, but fore the collective?

It’s common to fall off track with our wellness practices, isn’t it? At times, our mental health can feel like a slippery slope. We may have periods during which we are checking off all of the boxes: journaling, meditating, walking outdoors, and practicing gratitude. However, we will also inevitably experience phases during which our emotions run haywire and our mind runs rampant. A few days, weeks, or months may pass before we pause long enough to realize, “Hmm, I don’t feel like myself anymore.”
In this episode of The Cured Collective Podcast, we discuss how common it is to find ourselves in difficult seasons of life; as well as how easy it is to slip down the mental health mountain. Life is unpredictable, and so breaks in our mental health practices will certainly happen from time to time. Your mental health practices may also evolve and shift, depending on who and where you are in your own life.
Wherever you find yourself now, we encourage you to take inventory of how you feel and how you want to feel. If these aren’t aligned, what practices can you return to; or perhaps, try for the first time? You have the power to change your current reality, and it can begin with one small step. Similarly to building physical strength and stamina, mental strength and resilience is a long-game rooted in patience, understanding, and perseverance.
We know you have it in you.
