The Texas Longhorns made a change at the top of the baseball team, letting go of David Pierce after eight seasons and replacing him with Texas A&M's Jim Schlossnagle.

It was a massive coup for Texas, taking its biggest rival's head the day after they competed for a national championship. Schlossnagle's relationship with Texas athletic director Chris del Conte dates back years, and the Longhorns AD hopes his friend can right the ship at the Disch quickly.
