  • JFD373: Last Summer, Scenes From the Goldmine, I Woke Up Early the Day I Died
Nobody ever tells Junk Food Dinner what is and isn't possible. Not even the laws of physics are strictly respected around these parts. Case in point and pudding-proof: this week's episode features none other than Wayne Killmeister of Motion Picture Massacre: the Podcast. You won't believe it, but that doesn't change a damn thing. It happened. First up! Could it be a prelude to Ghoul Summer? Is that the kind of kick Sean Byron's on these days? One thing's for sure, it's 1969's Last Summer, directed by Frank Perry and starring a dead seagull. Next! The movie that seems like for sure it should have been on HBO all the time when we were kids, but nobody remembers. It's a Kevin Moss blind-pick bonanza as we review 1987's Scenes from the Goldmine! In this case, they're mining for lucrative song publishing royalties (and cocaine). Finally, who could forget I Woke Up Early The Day I Died. This film, from 1998, is well beloved by all, most importantly Wayne. It premiered famously at the Mann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood, Calif. It's written by Ed Wood, and not the fictional Tim Burton character but the actual historical figure. You gotta see it! All this plus witty banter between podcats, Wayne's unfettered sense of civic pride, Wayne's official theme song, Wayne's stance on Illogical Contraption Radio Podcast, Wayne's boob-scale ratings on Junkmails, Wayne's standing with Jackson Stewart, Wayne's standing with Unknown Caller, Wayne witnesses the return of a very special caller, Wayne's thoughts on Ghoul Summer fashions, Wayne's experiences with JFD commentary episodes and presidential elections, Wayne's preferred methods for seeing Jodorowsky films, some weekly news and Blu-ray Picks, an assumed lack of overt police involvement, half-wt sneezes, mega belches, partly-decrepit erections, the dangers of podcasting, semi-brominated vegetable gleeks and a whole lot more! • JFD372: The Hitcher, Wild Tales, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders
This week on JFD we turn over the programming rights to our loyal Dom Deluise $10-a-month Patreon donors and get a trio of off-beat features to sink our teeth into. Up first, C. Thomas Howell (Soul Man) plays a young man driving alone in Texas who picks up a hitchhiker played by Rutger Hauer (Hobo with a Shotgun) who quickly reveals himself as a psycho killer. Soul Man manages to escape the madman but sets off a game of cat and mouse in The Hitcher from 1986. Next, we take a look at Argentina's highest grossing movie ever, Wild Tales (AKA Relatos Salvajes) from 2014. This dark anthology flick weaves 6 tales about people in strange situations with questionable morals. Finally, Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar reprise their roles (well, at least the voices) from the classic 60's Batman TV show in an all-new, straight-to-DVD, animated adventure; Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders from 2016. All this plus witty banter between friends, vacation plans, slot machine previews, Junk Mail, our world famous weekly Nerd News and Blu-ray Picks, continued lack of overt police involvement, and a whole lot more! • JFD371: Jekyll & Hyde ... Together Again, Nightmare Weekend, Willy/Milly
We're back! Up first, a doctor discovers cocaine ... well, a powdery white drug anyway ... and becomes a sleazeball maniac in "Jekyll and Hyde... Together Again." Next, a different doctor turns coeds into flesh-hungry mutants (I think) in "Nightmare Weekend." Finally, a high school girl grows a penis thanks to Seth Green's magic in "Willy/Milly." All this, plus Nerd News, random ass drops, DVDs, buddies talkin and so much more. Direct Donloyd

  • JFD370: The Ghosting, The Winter Soldier, Major Grom
Grab some fireworks! We're back, Junkies! First up, a dude sells his movie theater to raise money to make a ghost movie. That's the real story. What happens in the actual movie is anyone's guess -- "The Ghosting" aka "Bad Ghost." Next, Captain America finds himself in a present day where nazis have infiltrated the American system in "Captain America: Winter Soldier." Finally, a Russian cop stops a bank robbery in the short film, "Major Grom." All this plus Nerd News, DVDs, Sean rearranging furniture, Wayne calls in and so much more! • JFD369: Lifeforce, Ed Wood, I Am Here... Now
Much to Parker's delight, JFDecades is coming to a close. And we're finishing strong with three oddball flicks with an emphasis on notoriously bad directors! Up first, a group of astronauts (including Steve Railsback of Nukie fame) find an alien ship inside the tail of Halley's Comet. They find a group of naked vampires and bring them back to their ship. But when there's an explosion on the ship killing most of the crew, only Railsback and the vampires escape, landing on Earth. Now the vampire aliens are on the loose and it's up to Railsback and a bunch of Brits to track them down before they bring on armageddon in 1985's Lifeforce, directed by Tobe Hooper (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Poltergeist) and released by Cannon Films. Next, Tim Burton directs a black and white biopic about one of Hollywood's most infamous "bad" directors, Ed Wood. Johnny Depp plays the titular Wood as he hustles his way through the underbelly of low budget filmmaking in the 1950's. The movie explores Wood's penchant for cross-dressing, his friendship with a near-death Bela Lugosi (played to perfection by Martin Landau) and the wacky cast of characters he assembled to produce his magna opus Plan Nine from Outer Space. And finally, on the subject of infamous bad directors, we dissect yet another bizarre, amateurish, low-budget affair from Neil Breen, 2006's I Am Here... Now. In this outing, Breen plays a cyber Jesus who goes around punishing those who aren't living according to "his plan". All this plus witty banter between friends, Pizza Hut memories, old theatre chat, Junk Mail, our world famous weekly Nerd News and Blu-ray Picks, continued lack of overt police involvement, and a whole lot more! • JFD368: The Night of the Hunter, Danger: Diabolik, Trackdown
We're smack in the middle of this year's JFDecades run, and it's a hell of a show. We've got three wild flicks we found on the banks of the Ohio river, just upstream from that Sodom of the Midwest, Parkersburg! First up! You know that movie with the "Love and Hate" finger tattoos? On Robert Mitchum? Playing a self-appointed Preacher slash serial killer? You know the one. It's 1955's The Night of the Hunter. Yeah, that one. We review it. Next! Remember that weird Italian spy flick with the skin-tight, nostril-hugging masks? The one Mario Bava directed in 1968? Danger: Diabolik is the one! We talk all about that one. Finally, who could forget Trackdown. This film, from 1976, is review lastly on the show this week. It stars James "Jim" Mitchum, eldest son of Robert Mitchum, and is being considered by some for a retroactive Academy Awards Ceremy sweep of all categories. We SPOIL THE CRAP OUT OF THIS MOVIE so you should definitely watch the movie first (streaming free on Amazon Prime, cheap on DVD). All this plus witty banter between friends, why parker stays away from bread, dave's killer marketing team, the cream of the teens, It Comes At two nightmares in a row, Parker Bowman forgets Vanilla Sky exists, Seventy Eighty Year Old Party Monster Doug Benson, Wicks in Private, them weekly news and Blu-ray Picks, continued lack of overt police involvement, half-dry sneezes, wet belches, mega-decrepit erections, the dangers of tumblr, semi-brominated vegetable gleeks and a whole lot more! • JFD367: The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari / Gold Diggers of 1935 / Rope
Call your grampa cuz JFDecades is back again! First, the widely influential German expressionist film, "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" from 1920. If you've seen a Tim Burton movie, you're probably gonna find the film pretty familiar. Then, wealthy members of a New England resort put on a show in "Gold Diggers of 1935." Busby Berkely puts on some serious witchcraft in the musical numbers. Finally, two affluent young men commit a murder just to prove they can in Alfred Hitchock's classic "Rope." All this plus DVDS, Nerd News, Cool Junk Mails, A Wonder Woman spoiler in the stinger, Ridley Scott Sucks Chat, a death in the family and so much more! • JFD366: Forbidden World, Fist of the Northstar, Hunk
This week on JFD we sell our movie selections and our dignity for a few measly bucks as we  let our Patreon donors pick the flicks! Up first, our boy Josh brings us Forbidden World from 1982. In this low-budget, Roger Corman-produced, Alien rip-off, a space cowboy docks on a research ship where some scientists have inadvertently created a space mutant who is turning the crew into slimy puddles. Up next, sweet bro Matt offers up Fist of the Northstar from 1986. This classic anime flick condenses some stories from an already popular Manga and TV show into a post-apocalyptic blood bath. And finally, the man himself; Mickey throws us Hunk from 1987. This goofy, PG-rated, wish fulfillment beach comedy centers on a nerdy computer programmer who makes a deal with one of Satan's sexy minions to become a bodacious hunk in exchange for his soul.  [Want to be a big shot like these guys and pick the movies we watch on Junk Food Dinner? • JFD365: Mad Bull 34, Serial Experiments Lain, The Dragon Dentist
If you're sad like we're sad and you're not sure why, it's probably because everyone's favorite new Junk Food Dinner theme month of 2017 (so far) - Ani-May, is finally coming to an end. But fret not, faithful junkie - we're closing it out in grand fashion with a trio of actual, genuine, Japanese anime flicks (or shows, or something)! First up! You'll never believe the crazy hijinks (both sexual and violent in nature) going on in Mad Bull 34 (from 1990). It's one of those standard buddy cop flicks where dudes get their heads lopped off by oncoming trains, if you get my drift. You'll love this one. Next! Sean channels his inner goth teenage girl with 1998's stylish but sleepy Serial Experiments Lain! It's got enough shots of power lines to keep him interested, but will Kevin or Parker give any fucks? Finally, a film that Parker Bowman has been waiting for, for a long time. The Dragon Dentist from 2017 marks a certain milestone for Mr. Bowman on a certain Letterboxd website, which is meaningful somehow. Also, dragons get their dental hygiene looked after. It's Japanimation! All this plus witty banter between friends, The Frisbie Opinion, Eric from Omaha, a Julian Sands classic our beloved Parker Bowman hasn't seen, monsters made out of nipples and shitty crap about time travel, Kevin Moss lying through his teeth about Oldies dot com, a Hot Topic Monster Mash, a Whitman's Sampler of super ghoulish horror flicks, them weekly news and Blu-ray Picks, continued lack of overt police involvement, half-dry sneezes, wet belches, mega-decrepit erections, semi-brominated vegetable gleeks and a whole lot more! Finally, two slacker metalheads go on a road trip to find a new TV and to score with sluts in "Beavis and Butthead do America." All this plus DVDs, Nerd News, someone hates Heston, someone hates Guardians of the Galaxy, someone hates Kurt Russell and someone sips a drink.
