Keanu Believe It

On this episode of our all Keanu Reeves podcast, Sam (@samshotfirst) is joined by Mark Watlington (@WatlingtonMark) to discuss the 2010 film Henry’s Crime. Is this romance-crime hybrid good? Or is it just so much better than the other movies that fit that bill in Keanu’s career that it seems good in comparison? They explore the film, which co-stars James Caan and Vera Farmiga, to find out.

On the latest episode of our all Keanu Reeves series, Sam (@samshotfirst) takes a look at Scott Derrickson’s remake of the influential sci-fi classic with his guest Trey Lawson (@T_Lawson). Widely dismissed on release, even by the people on this episode, the admittedly uneven 2008 version of The Day the Earth Stood Still actually has more to offer than it appears at first glance. You’ll definitely want to listen as a film at war with itself always makes for an interesting conversation!

Keanu Reeves has worked with some of the best and most interesting directors around… he also once worked with David Ayer. Marcus Irving (@marcusirving317) stops by our all Keanu podcast once again to join Sam (@samshotfirst) for a discussion on Street Kings, the very not good police action-thriller that fails on pretty much every level despite best efforts from Reeves, Forest Whitaker and others in the stellar cast.

Keanu Reeves is not one who likes to repeat himself very often when it comes to choosing projects, so directly after The Matrix trilogy he was resistant to do more science fiction so soon. That is until Richard Linklater came along with a script and concept so good Keanu could not refuse. Marcelo Pico (@marcelojpico) is Sam’s (@samshotfirst) guest to discuss this animated adaptation of the Philip K. Dick novel A Scanner Darkly. Featuring one of Reeves’ very best performances, a stellar supporting cast with Winona Ryder, Robert Downey, Jr., and Woody Harrelson, and some of the most interesting work from Linklater — this is a film that is vastly under discussed.

Keanu Reeves demonstrated legendary chemistry with Sandra Bullock in Speed. So much so that it was only a matter of time before they’d be reunited, though I’m sure people weren’t expecting the reunion to be as… weird as The Lake House. Listen as Sam (@samshotfirst) and his returning guest Matt Curione (@TheRealMattC) try to make sense of this romantic drama and its very confusing time travel logic, and opine about how the world is overdue for another Reeves/Bullock collaboration.
