 Dennis has been a pillar in our anxiety healing journey. Specifically, during a time when I felt super alone, scared and misunderstood, it was Dennis' videos that really gave me the tools to be able to start healing and rationally thinking about my health anxiety.   

On this episode we Dennis tells us about his own journey from struggling with anxiety to his healing process to now being a mentor/advocate for so many! We also discuss anxiety triggers resulting from trauma, how to identify health anxiety symptoms and Fran and I also get really personal with our own mental health journey's.

This week on the podcast we have the amazzzzing Alessai Scauzillo— business owner and founder of A Sculpt Body. We have an amazing conversation with her about her holistic approach to fitness, how the fitness industry can often have a solely aesthetic approach to fitness as opposed to a health/wellness approach, and how we’ve personally feel into the cycle of body dysmorphia because of these social norms.

She also gives some background on how she was able to go from her 6-figure corporate job to starting her own business from scratch — the mindset shift that had to occur within her that ultimately translated into her full 100% energy into her business and in turn propelled her to be able to quit her corporate job for good. Alessia gets into some of her motivations as to why she started this business and how she has been able to successfully dedicate herself to it for the last 2 years. Buckle up, because here comes another rant! On this week's episode we get into a variety of topics. We discuss the ongoing Depp VS Heard trial and how it shows a glimpse of the realities of some of our favourite celebs. We also get into the Roe Vs Wade decision and the courts power to overturn abortion rights. Why does the government have a say on what we do with our body?  Lana even discusses the 7 chakras and how these energy centres are so closely linked with physical sensations and bodily functions.   Now, none of us are medical professionals and we'd obviousssssly recommend seeing your doctor for anything going on physically, buttt, it was amazing for us to link some of our own personal stories when it comes to health, o the ay in which certain energy centres could be blocked.... aka, feeling a lack of confidence when it comes to speaking your voice and giving opinions and also dealing with physical symptoms such as inflamed esophagus = a potentially blocked throat chakra! Amazing stuff!

She discusses the low points and difficult times, keeping it 100% honest and real.... She also touches on the ways in which focusing on self-worth and vulnerability has helped her live a fulfilled life with a hallucination.   We get into the stigmatization surrounding mental illnesses and how we as a community can help combat that. We sooo appreciate the way Mary authentically gives us insight on everything she's experienced-- from  the way a psych ward operates to her thoughts on how wellness checks are finally starting to become a priority in society!  We even answer some listener questions on how to cope with mental and physical insecurities to which Mary gives some amazing actionable steps such as: fake it 'till you make it & facts over feelings!
