A variety of research studies conducted over the years have shown that of all the variables impacting the quality of teaching and the amount of learning that goes on in the classroom, the most significant variable is . . . the teacher. Yet, we underpay, undervalue, and disempower this most significant of significant variables and expect them to come back year after year because they “love” kids.
