Anthony and Jorge explain why they both think LeBron James is frustrated with the Lakers and why most of those reason are at least fairly reasonable. They discuss Rob Pelinka's reported Giannis plan and why it's antiquated. They finish the discussion with a summer league story and then Anthony offers up a little extra context on his reporting from Tuesday morning.
Anthony and guest Jorge Sedano (ESPN) discuss this weird offseason for LeBron James, who clearly feels a certain way about no longer being the center of the Lakers' attention.
After wrapping up his conversation with Jorge Sedano, Anthony quickly touches on news from this morning that De'Anthony Melton might be heading to The Bay and what the Lakers' plans are right now.
Anthony welcomes Yossi Gozlan (Third Apron, Capsheets.com) into The Lounge to break down the Lakers' offseason so far from a cap perspective. They also talk about the team's option in this second half of the offseason as they try to open more avenues to improve the roster. The guys also discuss LeBron James' options and whether the Lakers would ever trade him.
Anthony and Yossi go through the Lakers offseason to this point to help paint the picture of what they need to do from here on out.
Anthony is still dubious of this whole plan to maintain flexibility for 2027 even while they have Luka Doncic in his prime and LeBron James is clearly still pretty good just for the chance at maybe landing Giannis Antetokounmpo. He and Yossi talk about the practicality of cap space versus just, oh, you know, employing good basketball players.
Over the weekend, Anthony thought long and hard about LeBron James' options *if* James actually wants out. He asked around about the situation, too, and the product wound up being a length article that outlined why he thinks James' and the Lakers' best option is just to move forward together.
Since writing the article, he's also heard why there might be a riff between James and the Lakers, and where it stemmed from. So he offers that additional context, as well.
The first show after a longer weekend is always a doozie, even if the weekend wasn't actually as long as it felt like. Anthony discusses the now official additions to the roster and notes the Lakers not mentioning LeBron James specifically. He dives into that situation, too. Then he uses the mailbag to talk about everything the Lakers are working on.
Anthony is legitimately excited about the additions to the roster so far. Now that they've been officially announced, he goes through them and what they bring to the table.
The Lakers need to consolidate their roster for a few reasons. Anthony discusses those efforts and why he thinks a trade for a wing checks the most boxes.
