Lakers Lounge

For the first time in a little while, the Lakers are better as a result of the moves they've made in the offseason. Anthony and Jovan break down the offseason to this point.

The Lakers landed their starting center. Now what?

Anthony wishes he had better news on this front but, he answers all the Al Horford questions and everything else the live audience wanted covered.

Even while landing Deandre Ayton is a huge development for a team desperate for any help at center, the Lakers still have a ton of work to do and are hard at work on it. Anthony offers up the latest he's heard.

Anthony welcomes Sean Highkin into The Lounge to talk about the breaking news that they had just landed Deandre Ayton, the talented center who they kinda/sorta desperately needed to sign. The guys talk about Ayton the teammate, the player and whether they believe he'll be able to turn things around. Then, they discuss some of the trade talks the Lakers and Blazers have had and Anthony wraps with questions from the live audience.

Well, there we have it. Deandre Ayton, you are a Los Angeles Laker. Anthony and guest Sean Highkin share their immediate reactions to the move.

Sean Highkin, who has covered Deandre Ayton in Portland, offers up what he was able to gather about how Ayton's teammates felt about him and continue to feel about him now that he's gone.

The work isn't done after the Lakers were able to land Deandre Ayton. Anthony explains what the Lakers are up to now by way of some questions from the live audience.

We obviously wish we had more action to talk about, but we cover a Rob Pelinka-led Lakers team. So here we are.

Anthony narrates the piece he wrote yesterday about Deandre Ayton and why he's available and his options in free agency, then offers up his thoughts on the conflicting reporting out there about what Ayton will look to do.
