The guys wrap up their title tiers with teams that don't really have a shot or flat out do not have a chance at winning a championship this year, then discuss the biggest surprises from the first few weeks of the season.
Anthony welcomes two guys whose content legitimately inspired him to try out this whole industry. Jason Concepcion and Shea Serrano stop by (completely as a coincidence) to talk all kinds of things.
In the first half of the show, Anthony and Jason talk about the Lakers-Spurs game Jason attended and what the Wemby experience was like. Anthony and Jason both agree the Lakers are legit. They talk Knicks, Luka trade, Nico and how Luka's hair impacts how conditioned he looks.
In the second, Anthony and Shea talk about Serrano's new book, "Expensive Basketball," which Jen as stolen like it was one of Anthony's hoodies. The guys talk about Shea's writing process, what makes his writing so unique and what went into the chapters and subjects he chose. They also talk current basketball and Anthony's washedness.
Anthony welcomes his colleague at Offside, Jason Concepcion, to talk about the Lakers-Spurs game the other night, which Jason attended. They discuss the Wemby experience, Luka as a goose, the Lakers legitimacy, Jason's Knicks and plenty more.
Shea Serrano stops by to talk about his NYT Best Selling book, "Expensive Basketball," which Jen promptly stole. The guys talk about what makes Shea's writing so unique and how he balances high-level writing with shooting the shit with his reader. Then, they discuss some of the subjects of his book, the Lakers and Spurs game from the other night and plenty more.
Anthony recaps last night's game, offers an update on LeBron and Austin's injuries, then enjoys the way Ayton continues to play.
Anthony welcomes a friend of the show into The Lounge to enjoy the Lakers beating the Spurs. They discuss the game, the Deandre Ayton experience to this point, LeBron's vibes as the Lakers continue their run and plenty more. Then, in the second half of the show, Anthony goes solo to rant about the refereeing and answer your questions.
The Lakers have won five straight and it's forcing us to rethink how we might feel about this team. Problem is, every time Anthony gets optimistic about the Lakers, bad things happen. So, he brings Sabreena Merchant into The Lounge to break down this game and they both walk away still feeling great about where the Lakers stand right now.
Anthony enjoyed beating the Spurs as much as he's always going to, but couldn't help but note how poor the refereeing was in a game that could have been so much more fun. He talks about that as well as a couple other topics the live audience brought to his attention.
Anthony has kinda/sorta alluded to why starting hot was important for the Lakers specifically. From there, he dives into the mailbags, where listeners wanted to talk about Austin Reaves, Rui Hachimura, LeBron James' injury and more.
Anthony is loving the start the Lakers are off to and explains what was riding on it.
