In this episode, Greg and Brian are joined by active-duty US Army officer Lt. Col. Andy Riise who is currently transitioning to civilian life after 20 years of service. For the last 10 years, he's been jumping out of perfectly good airplanes as a paratrooper and helping Green Berets put warheads on enemy foreheads as a JTAC (Joint Terminal Attack Controller).
Andy is an expert in the psychology of elite human performance and has taught at West Point and the Air Force Academy, in addition to consulting with professional athletes in sports, the US military, first responders and leaders in business.
Andy is also the co-author of the new book "Deliberate Discomfort: how US Special Operations Forces overcome fear and dare to win by getting comfortable being uncomfortable" and is the Chief Science Officer for Mission6Zero.
I would like to remind everyone that the views that Andy expresses on this podcast are his own personal views and do not reflect that of the U.S. Army or the Department of Defense.
