If you haven't implemented meditation in your fitness practice you should. There are so many benefits beyond just being more at peace. It brings cortisol down, reduces belly fat, improves digestive system, you implement better decisions through out the day, and so much more. Today on the podcast we discuss how to start including recovery in your week, how it can look, why it's important, and how to implement it. I talk about my own personal journey of going from someone who actually left a yoga class MORE stressed than before to now being able to include meditation, yoga and other forms of recovery in my daily routine. One way we're helping members to "make recovery great again" is by offer a new 1/2 hour recovery course called "Cool 30."
*Side note: brown noise is actually a real thing. My wife schooled us after the recording and showed us the spectrum of noises from white, brown, blue to violet noise. Highly recommend looking this up!

We are all guilty of playing the high school highlight reel over and over again. Don't let your past fitness success control your future. You spend so much time looking back at the rear view mirror that you neglect what destination you want to go next. Create S.M.A.R.T. goals frequently to make sure you are moving in the right direction.

A very popular question so many couples have. What is the secret to get your spouse to workout? Today my wife and I discuss potential strategies that can get your loved one off the couch and into the gym. The answer might surprise you but it is much easier than you think. Just as it takes time to get to your physical fitness goals, creating a healthy culture in your family will take some time as well. Be patient, stay consistent, and you will get there.

We are all guilty of not doing anything towards are goal or made an attempt but not nearly long enough to get the results you are looking for. We spectate others on how far they have come with the assumption that results are instantaneous. The reality is that it is long, monotonous, consistent, and pretty boring. The idea is consistency and starting somewhere. There are going to be plenty of pit falls but learning from them is the key to get to where you want to go. Failure is the tuition for success.

Short podcast today. I wanted to share a mini conversation I had at the grocery store that really made me realize why so many are not fit or not where they want to be. Everyone thinks you have to be good at something to even start it and because of that thought you are were you are.
You start anything brand new you are going to be bad and as you continue to do it you will get much better. Thats just how it works. On top of that even when you get better at those things there are going to be some days that are not good. It is ok, be imperfect, and take action!

Today Coach Corey and I discuss the topic on how workouts translate to everyday life. Being in CrossFit a majority of our workouts tend to be shorter however lately we have been implementing more longer workouts into our programming for the 22 to O WOD event coming up in the next few weeks.
There are some unique take aways from doing these longer workouts. One major take away is that small details matter. If your technique is solid at the start your body will do much better in the later rounds of the workout. Start sloppy and you will end sloppy. Life works in simmilar ways, we go into things with no research or guidance and we find our selves playing catch up in every facet in our life.
Another take away is so many athletes in long workouts start out guns blazing and with no surprise they struggle minutes later into the workout. So many of us are wired for instant gratification and we think everything happens quick until it doesn't. Stay the path, start slow, and gradually build up. Use these long workouts as a micro lesson for life. Translate to other aspects of your life and you will have impactful growth.

After the 75 Hard challenge we experience a ton of great benefits. You get mentally stronger, your body goes through an amazing transformation, and you realize you are capable of so many other things.
There are some hidden side effects after you accomplish a challenge like that:
1. Irritability from people complaining about the little things
2. Impatience of people making excuses for themselves
3. Excessive attention for time management (nice way of seeing to someone to F*** off I am busy making my self better)
We want to make sure our members know what the outcomes are like but how your lens changes. In a way we want to make sure you have the ability to integrate yourself into the normal world so you don't make everyone hate you lol. Once you see the world this way it is very hard to unsee it. Get ready for a fun ride and we hope to give you a little bit of a heads up of what it is like.
