Following my recent breakup, I’ve re-fallen in love with all of my friends again, and am finding friendship and being around others a really powerful healing tool. Through pondering both the internet relationships we all build and have formed in lockdown, alongside my real-life friends that I spend a lot of time with, it got me thinking about modern dating.

We invest a lot of time on dating apps, going out to meet potential sexual or romantic partners on dates, only to have them fail or sometimes succeed time and time again. When the one constant in our lives is our friends. 

I figured, why not try and transform my online friendships to real-life connections? You'll hear my chat with Beatrice, my first-ever friend date, in the hopes of encouraging you to go on a friend date of your own and hopefully make a new post-lockdown pal.
