We give you the PFF Grades for the Cleveland Browns 2023 NFL DRAFT. John Kosko of Pro Football Focus joins Jeff Lloyd of the Locked-On Browns Podcast to break down all of the Cleveland Browns draft picks. You will want to pay close attention to our analysis of the 2023 NFL Draft on The Locked-On Browns Podcast. If you're a Cleveland Browns fan, then you'll want to watch this video! We're giving you a breakdown of the Browns entire 2023 NFL Draft pick by pick. We think the Browns 3rd round pick Cedric Tillman, 5th round pick Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and 4th round pick Dawan Jones really helped the Browns depth. The Cleveland Browns entered the 2023 NFL Draft on April 27 with eight picks over the three-day draft, but they didn’t make their first pick until the third round Friday night, selecting Tennessee wide receiver Cedric Tillman with the No. 74 overall pick. With their second third-round pick Friday, the Browns took Baylor defensive tackle Siaki Ika at No. 98. The Browns had six picks left for Day 3 and opened Saturday by taking offensive tackle Dawand Jones out of Ohio State with the No. 111 pick. With their second fourth-round pick (No. 126), they took defensive end Isaiah McGuire out of Missouri. In the fifth round, Cleveland added UCLA quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson (No. 140) and Northwestern cornerback Cameron Mitchell (No. 142). The Browns added Ohio State center Luke Wypler in the sixth round and traded the No. 229 pick of the seventh round to Baltimore for a sixth-round pick in 2024.

The Cleveland Browns have signed their first wave of undrafted free agents for 2023. The Cleveland Browns have added to their draft haul by signing nine undrafted free agents to try and help the team. This comes after the Browns drafted seven players during the 2023 NFL Draft, and now have at least 17 rookies to work with heading into the rookie camp portion of the offseason. t’s very likely that many, if not all of these rookies will eventually get released. Most won’t even make the practice team as other rookies become available, and other players from the USFL and XFL become available as well. It should be mentioned that some are reporting the Browns’ signing of Amos Cormier, a cornerback out of Georgia State, except there is no Cormier on the Georgia State roster during the 2022 season. So, he’s not going to be included here. But, until then, these are the extra rookies the Browns were able to procure after the 2023 NFL Draft.

DL Lonnie Phelps, Kansas

LB Mohamoud Diabate, Utah

RB Hassan Hall, Georgia Tech

TE Thomas Greaney, Albany

DE Jeremiah Martin, Washington

S Ronnie Hickman, Ohio State

S Charlie Thomas, Georgia Tech

CB Tanner McAllister, Ohio State

CB Caleb Biggers, Boise State

While everyone talked about Will Levis and Brian Branch’s fall during the 2023 NFL Draft from first rounders to second rounders, not as many people really talked about the fall of former Army Black Knight’s defensive end/linebacker Andre Carter II. Carter, now a Minnesota Viking, was someone who had the look, size, and athletic abilities to be something worth checking out in the NFL. Yet, he fell from the third round, where he was mocked to go, all the way to an undrafted free agent. Carter may not turn into anything worthwhile, but considering the Browns are all about “value” picks and players, to not get Carter in the seventh round or even as an undrafted free agent is interesting. Sure, the obvious answer is that Andrew Berry didn’t see the value in him, but I’d also argue that he’s gone back-to-back-to-back with wide receivers in the third round, and it’s looking like at least two of them won’t pan out. So maybe he’s not the best evaluator of talent. Here’s hoping Carter can turn it up in Minnesota and become a start. Moreover, here’s hoping that the likes of Ronnie Hickman and Tanner McAllister from Ohio State make it on the Browns’ roster as well.

It's hard to forget Andrew Berry's first draft as Browns general manager. For one thing, it may have been the most unique draft in the history of the NFL thanks to the COVID pandemic forcing the entire event to go virtual. Beyond that, it was unforgettable because it was the first opportunity to see what the entirely new — at the time — pairing of Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski would do to put its stamp on the roster. In the moment, what happened drew mostly positive reviews. Three years later, the six players who comprised the 2020 draft class for the Browns are among the most recognizable names on the roster, as would be expected from a collection of players who will be in their fourth season in 2023. However, for some, the bloom has come off the rose, so to speak, with the benefit of years of NFL experience. As we continue to grade Berry's moves as general manager, it's time to assess his first draft class now that it's coming up on a contract year for virtually all of them. The one potential exception, though, is where the assessment will begin.

Jedrick Wills Jr. has two more years to live up to his draft status. The Browns will pick up the fifth-year option on the left tackle’s rookie contract, a league source confirmed to The Chronicle-Telegram on Monday. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler was first to report the news. The deadline is Tuesday. The 2024 option is worth $14.175 million guaranteed based on playing time and a lack of Pro Bowl appearances. Wills was the No. 10 pick in 2020, Andrew Berry’s first selection as a general manager The move was expected, but Berry declined to answer Saturday when asked after the draft. Wills has been inconsistent in his three seasons, but the Browns feel he improved last year and is headed in the right direction. “Jed definitely took strides this year,” coach Kevin Stefanski said after the season. “I think like many young players there are still areas where he can be more consistent, but we definitely thought he took a step forward this season.” The Browns could work on a long-term deal for Wills that would replace the fifth-year option. If they don’t, it’s cheaper than the going rate for the top tackles — $25 million a year for Laremy Tunsil and $23 million for Trent Williams and David Bakhtiari and gives the Browns two more seasons to evaluate if he’s worth an extension.

Wills played right tackle in high school in Kentucky and at the University of Alabama but immediately made the switch to the left side with the Browns. His offseason as a rookie was done remotely due to the coronavirus pandemic, but he started 15 regular-season games and two in the playoffs. His second season, in 2021, was sabotaged by an injury. He suffered a high ankle sprain in the opener, tried to play through it, missed two games and was limited when he returned. He missed another two games late in the year with COVID-19. “It was like to the point where after we left the game I couldn’t even walk,” Wills said of the ankle injury in an interview with The Chronicle last offseason. “It was just never the same.” Wills stayed healthy last year and started all 17 games. He had a few of the best games of his career, but the dominance was sporadic and some fans on social media focused on plays where he was beaten or stopped before the play was over. Pro Football Focus ranked him 56th among tackles with a 62.9 grade — 69.6 pass blocking and 55.3 run blocking. “Gotten better, but still could be better,” he said near the end of last season regarding finishing plays. “Just having that want-to, having that drive, putting myself in better positions.” With the option, the Browns will have all five starting linemen under contract through at least 2024.

Jedrick Wills On Notice: Browns Draft Dawand Jones - What Does It Mean? In this video, we discuss the news that the Cleveland Browns drafted Dawand Jones. What does this mean for the team? We'll give our take on the situation. Dawand Jones’ slide in the NFL draft ended on Saturday. Once viewed as a borderline first-round pick with the prospect of joining Paris Johnson as the second offensive tackle from Ohio State to go among the first 32 selections, Jones fell to the fourth round, where he was taken by the Cleveland Browns with the No. 111 overall pick. Since its return as an expansion franchise in 1999, Cleveland has drafted five Buckeyes. Jones follows defensive tackle Tommy Togiai from 2021, cornerback Denzel Ward from 2018, wide receiver Brian Robiskie from 2009 and tight end Darnell Sanders from 2002.

The pick of Cedric Tillman at #74 will make for a lively discussion! Do you agree or disagree with the Cleveland Browns decision to draft a WR with their 74th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft? Let us know in the comments below! We're always happy to discuss Cleveland Browns news and rumors with our loyal listener base!

The Browns did the same thing for Deshaun Watson that the Ravens did for Lamar Jackson with their first pick in the draft: supplied him with another pass-catcher for an even more explosive offense. With Jackson, it was first-round pick Zay Flowers of Boston College. For Watson, it’s Tennessee big-body receiver Cedric Tillman Jr. (6-foot-3, 215 pounds), whom they picked with the 74th pick in the third round, their first pick in the draft. They acquired the pick when they traded down with the Jets from No. 42 in the second round to acquire receiver Elijah Moore. “I’m fired up to play with Deshaun Watson,” Tillman said. “He’s one of the best quarterbacks in the league and I’m really looking forward getting to all my teammates and new brothers and new coaches and stuff, so I’m excited.”

The addition of Tillman, Moore, Marquise Goodwin and tight end Jordan Akins represents a major overhaul of the receiving corps, but Browns assistant GM Catherine Raiche noted that a team can’t have too many good pass-catchers. The son of former Broncos receiver Cedric Tillman, Tillman isn’t worried about getting lost in the crowded receiver room.

“I’m looking forward to playing with all of those great receivers,” Tillman, 23, said. “I’m very excited. I’ve watched Amari Cooper since his Alabama days, so having one of the best receivers and one of the best route runners being able to learn from him will be huge in my game. So I look forward to it.” Tillman missed six games last season after undergoing ankle surgery, and was limited to 37 catches for 417 yards and three touchdowns. But when he was healthy in 2021, he caught 64 passes for 1,081 yards and 12 TDs.

Browns assistant GM Glenn Cook, who watched two of Tillman’s games in person last season, said the Browns were thrilled to land him where they did. “We feel good about his makeup,” Cook said. “We feel good about what he can do. We believe in his ability to learn the game. He’s a smart young man.” Cook said he has it in him to become a No. 1 receiver in the NFL. That would be good for the Browns, because Cooper’s contract is up after next season. Raiche said the Browns feel good about Tillman’s overall skill set and ability to stretch the field. “It was definitely worth the wait,” Raiche said. “We thought about trading up or down”

On day 2 of the draft, the Cleveland Browns could make a move that has fans talking! Watch as we cover all the latest news and rumors on the Cleveland Browns and see which players we believe could be on the verge of being drafted by the team. Stay tuned as we bring you the latest news and rumors, and watch as the Cleveland Browns make their big move! That’s right, the draft train will keep on rolling in Kansas City and bring in five teams (Dolphins, Browns, Broncos, 49ers, and Rams) who didn’t have a first-round selection.

The biggest storyline following Day 1: Where will Kentucky QB Will Levis land? Let’s look ahead at when Round 2 kicks off Friday and the names of some of the best players still available on the draft board.

Who are the best quarterbacks available on Day 2 of the NFL Draft?

Three quarterbacks went on Night 1 in Kansas City. Let’s take a look at the signal callers who are still looking to hear their names called in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Will Levis, Kentucky

Levis was the most shocking name to fall out of the first round this year. He joins the aforementioned Rodgers as a QB with a painfully long wait time in the draft's "green room." The Kentucky gunslinger threw for 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 2022. He completed 60.9% of his passes which has drawn criticism from NFL Draft pundits.

Hendon Hooker, Tennessee

At one-point last season, the 25-year-old quarterback was a Heisman Trophy frontrunner. Unfortunately, the Volunteers QB suffered a torn ACL that cut his season short. He still finished with an impressive 27-to-2 touchdowns-to-interception ratio and went on to be named SEC Offensive Player of the Year in 2022.

Who are the best wide receivers available on NFL Draft Day 2?

Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Quentin Johnson, Zay Flowers, and Jordan Addison eventually all went in succession in the back half of the first round. The rest of the 2023 receiver class remains in the green room.

Here's a look at the best pass-catching prospects:

Jalin Hyatt, Tennessee

Few receivers had a more productive 2022 campaign than Hyatt. The Volunteer superstar reeled in 15 touchdowns which was second most in the country last season. He also finished tied for 13th in yards per reception (18.9) which should have plenty offensive coordinators salivating over the possibility of landing Hyatt in the second round.

Jonathan Mingo Ole Miss

Like Hyatt, Mingo is an SEC pass catcher who specializes in vertical route running and possesses stellar top-end speed for his size. Mingo tracks the deep ball well and will likely find a home quickly on Day 2.
