Locked On Canadiens - Daily Podcast on the Montreal Canadiens

It's the night before the NHL Draft and Locked On Canadiens has plenty to discuss with the listeners, thanks in large part to Marc Bergevin and Trevor Timmins' press conference on Monday.

Scott and Laura take a look at Bergevin's off-season work, and whether he was right to believe that Jake Allen and Joel Edmundson are enough to make the playoffs. Also, Marc Bergevin apparently never said he wasn't interested in a Patrik Laine deal, is there still something there to be done?

Trevor Timmins talked about wanting players in the draft who play like Brendan Gallagher, the hosts talk about the pros and cons of drafting players with NHL quality, but a low ceiling versus a high ceiling, but lesser NHL chance.

Finally with the Habs Eyes on the Prize consensus ranking published, Laura and Scott discuss the potential of Dylan Holloway at 16th overall, as well as the other options who might be of interest in round one.

In today's episode, we discuss Charles Hudon's future with the Montreal Canadiens - will he be traded? His preference is to play in the NHL but there does not seem to be any room for him on the roster. We also discuss Marc Bergevin's appearance with Tony Marinaro on TSN 690, and what we learned from that. Finally, we discuss the Henrik Lundqvist buyout and whether it has future implications for Carey Price in Montreal.

After nearly losing the season the NHL finally awarded the Stanley Cup to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday night, and the hosts examine the fallout from the final result.

They'll also tackle some questionable media takes after the game, and the potential of a bubble system in place next season when it begins.

Also, Jack Eichel was on the trade market, but also not on the trade market as per Bob McKenzie, so just what the heck is going on in Buffalo these days?

Scott and Laura welcome Beth from the Habby Hour podcast, and fawn over all things Jeff Petry.

Before diving into Petry's new contract the hosts talk to Beth about the hard parts of starting a positive focused Habs podcast during a period when the team wasn't very good. They'll also talk about the guests the Habby Hour have had on the show, and that experience.

Then the trio will break down the the brand new four year contract and what it means for the future of the Canadiens, and just how important he is to getting new deals for Brendan Gallagher and Phillip Danault.

Finally, they'll discuss the reaction around the NHL to the deal, and why people need to just accept that Marc Bergevin pulled off an amazing bit of business with Petry's deal.

In the latest episode of Locked On Canadiens, Scott and Laura take a look at Jake Evans and his new two-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens. Namely what it's like for the team to have actually developed a talent in the AHL for the first time in years, and how Joel Bouchard is helping to shape their future.

Also the NHL put out a really stupid advertisement about winning the Stanley Cup while in the midst of a lawsuit based around concussions and CTE, so Scott has some thoughts he'd like to share.

Finally, the Pittsburgh Penguins and Florida Panthers, sort of made a trade, but not really and it's all very ridiculous, and the hosts break down their thoughts on the whole affair.
