The AP poll voters still included both the Texas Longhorns and FAU Owls in the top 25 this week, and we discuss the resumes for both programs and which is a more surprising inclusion in the Week 9 poll. We also take a look at the incredibly deep Mountain West conference, which has five teams that look like they should be included in the NCAA Tournament - bad news for other mid-major conferences like the WCC, A-10, and AAC.

We then look at four Power-6 programs that remain undefeated in conference play: Oregon, Wake Forest, NC State, and Arizona State, and who among them is a legit contender and who might just have benefitted from an easy early schedule.

Finally, we close out the show previewing Tuesday's games, including Houston heading to Iowa State, BYU at Baylor, Texas A&M at Auburn, and Colorado State at Boise State.

The Big 12 got off to a wild start on Saturday. Kansas held off TCU at home, but was the beneficiary of a controversial call by the refs. Houston BLASTED West Virginia, and thanks to JMU & Ole Miss losses is the lone remaining undefeated team in D1. Other ranked Big 12 teams DID lose at home - BYU and Texas.

FAU lost again and is hurting their tournament seeding, while Seton Hall has won three of four and might be building a nice little at-large resume.

Auburn trucked Arkansas at Bud Walton Arena - should the Tigers be considered a threat to Tenenssee and Kentucky in the SEC? Is Clemson Clemson-ing or are they just in a rough schedule patch?

The Arizona Wildcats obliterated the Colorado Buffaloes on Thursday, winning 97-50 in an incredible display of offensive and defensive efficiency - leading us to wonder if this team, at their peak, is the best team in college basketball. Two AP top-10 teams, Purdue and North Carolina, both went on the road on Tuesday night and picked up their first true road win of the season. While both are known to be elite offensive teams, both held their opponent to under 60 points – Purdue keeping Maryland to 53 and North Carolina holding Pittsburgh to 57. Zach Edey and Armando Bacot, two of the best rebounders in the nation, each notched double-doubles. In two “what will see from them now” games, FAU rebounded from their FGCU loss with a 15-point victory in their first-ever AAC game, using a 14-1 closing run to beat ECU, while Illinois absolutely destroyed Northwestern by 30. Caitlin Clark saved Iowa with a beautiful step-back, logo, three-pointer at the buzzer, Duke won thanks to inspiration from Mark Mitchell’s dad, and the Wake Forest transfer guard train rolls on.

The Creighton Blue Jays fumbled a huge opportunity to pick up a road win over Shaka Smart and the Marquette Golden Eagles, instead losing their third game out of the last four. Steven Ashworth and Trey Alexander combined to go 2-10 from three and Ryan Kalkbrenner only got seven shot attempts, which has us wondering if Creighton is truly in trouble or just on a small skid.

Gonzaga took an incredibly rare home loss to San Diego State on Friday, pushing them to 0-4 in Quad 1 games with only three potential Q1 opportunities left - including a true road game against Kentucky in February. Is Mark Few's team in real danger of not making the NCAA Tournament if they don't win the WCC? Their resume is an issue in part because two of their wins - USC and UCLA - have aged poorly with both the Trojans and Bruins struggling in a major way.

We close out the show discussing a handful of resume killer losses from the weekend, including Florida Atlantic taking their second Quad 4 loss of the season, this one to Florida Gulf Coast, as well as Virginia getting pummeled by Notre Dame and Michigan losing to mid-major darling McNeese.
