1. We have a special guest on today's episode, Cleveland Guardians relief prospect Tim Herrin joins the podcast. Tim was nice enough to spend a half hour talking to us about his journey from being an Indiana University pitcher to being drafted by the Cleveland Guardians in the 29th round in the 2018 draft.

2. Tim shares his background playing high school sports, where he was a state championship quarterback and lettered in basketball, and how Cleveland spent a lot of time getting to know him during his junior year with the Indiana Hoosiers.

3. Tim also reveals his favorite MLB team and player growing up and how he's approaching going into the season now on the 40 man roster and could be part of the Guardians bullpen.

4. On YouTube only (at 31:33) we get into Cleveland trading Owen Miller to the Milwaukee Brewers to clear a 40 man roster spot to add Mike Zunino. We touch on the ramifications of that spot and the Guardians handling their bench and 40 man roster, and why Justin still has faith in Owen Miller's future.

1. The Cleveland Guardians signed Mike Zunino. After missing out on Sean Murphy in a trade, we discuss why Zunino is an upgrade over Austin Hedges, and it's not even close.

2. We revisit the Sean Murphy trade again and what the Athletics were looking for and what Cleveland didn't have or what St. Louis wasn't willing to do.

3. Is Cleveland done making moves and would they add another catcher behind Zunino still? We get into that a little more.

4. On YouTube only after 30 minutes, we talk about the trade market not being equal right now and what Cleveland may do next in terms of backup catcher or other bats. We talk about what the Guardians will do with Bo Naylor and other future moves.

Don't forget on tomorrow's show, we will have Guardians pitching prospect Tim Herrin joining us. Be sure to tune in!

1. The Atlanta Braves traded for Oakland Athletics catcher Sean Murphy in a three-team trade with the Milwaukee Brewers. We start out the show talking about the underwhelming package that went to Oakland and why Cleveland was unable to strike a deal for the All-Star catcher.

2. We dig into Oakland's issues making these trades and why they might have targeted the players they did in this deal and while it doesn't make sense, but why Cleveland might not have been able to fit what the Athletics are looking for.

3. Now that Murphy and Christian Vazquez are off the market, as Vazquez went to the Twins on a three-year deal after the Murphy trade, we look at where Cleveland might pivot next and how they will address the catching situation for 2023.

1. Some Cleveland Guardians got some pre-arb bonuses by MLB over the weekend. Triston McKenzie, Andres Gimenez, Emmanuel Clase and Steven Kwan all got a nice big bonus. Find out how much and if that makes any McKenzie, Gimenez and Kwan more or less likely to sign an extension.

2. We know the Cleveland Guardians have pitching depth and might be interested in dealing Zach Plesac or Aaron Civale. We take a look at the free agent pitching market and what teams have needs and if Cleveland will ever see a pitching market develop for Plesac or Civale to move them for what it's worth.

3. The Cleveland Guardians did surprisingly well in managers challenges in 2022, despite what some people might have thought. Find out how well they did thanks to research from Josh Handler on Twitter.

4. (YouTube only bonus segment) - More news on the catching market as we discuss Ken Rosenthal's latest on Sean Murphy and Christian Vazquez and what we think could be going on in trade discussions and Cleveland's catching options. We also debate a submitted trade proposal.

1. The Boston Red Sox signed OF Masataka Yoshida and the market is pretty wild, which is why we talked about why the Cleveland Guardians don't need an outfielder and shouldn't go after one, including Pirates OF Bryan Reynolds.

2. There was some news on Cleveland's potential interest in C Mike Zunino. We talk about why Zunino would be an upgrade over Austin Hedges, although we explain that both could be back anyway. We go over the risks and strengths of Zunino signing with Cleveland.

3. And we are on day 200 something of the Sean Murphy saga, talking about the rumored ask of the Cardinals by the Athletics in a potential trade for Murphy, which was said to be Lars Nootbaar, Brendan Donovan and Gordan Graceffo. We talk about why that is too high of an ask, if true, and what that means for Cleveland's pursuit of Murphy.

1. The Cleveland Guardians lost two pitchers in the Rule 5 draft, RHP Nic Enright to the Miami Marlins and RHP Kevin Kelly to the Colorado Rockies, who got traded to the Tampa Bay Rays, which is no surprise. We talk about why these losses were not a surprise overall and why they should stick with their teams.

2. Cleveland also lost another pitcher in the minor league portion of the Rule 5 draft, LHP Eli Lingos to the Colorado Rockies. We briefly touch on Lingos' pick there and what that means for him. Cleveland selected three players in the minor league phase of the Rule 5 draft, RHP Bradley Hanner from the Twins, C Michael Berglund from Tampa Bay, and RHP Justin Lewis from Arizona. We discussed those additions for the Guardians as well.

3. Finally, we discuss the end of the winter meetings and why there were no trades during the week, but to be patient to see what happens now that some free agents have signed.

1. The Cleveland Guardians signed free agent 1B Josh Bell to a 2-year deal for $33 million with an opt-out after the 2023 season. We start off today's podcast talking about the value of this contract for the Guardians and why Bell signed it. We explain why this is an easy win for both sides and Jeff predicted a potential short term, opt-out deal for Bell.

2. We then dive into Bell's offensive production, looking at his sub-par 2022 second half, but also comparing the first half of his season and his career to Cleveland's putrid DH production in 2022 and why it's a huge upgrade over what they currently had on their roster. We talk about park factors and why that could help Bell have a big rebound year in Cleveland and we discuss what a good fit he is overall on the roster.

3. More Sean Murphy rumors, because, of course. More teams are reportedly "interested" which makes it the majority of major league teams interested in the Athletics backstop. We lay out once again why the rumors continue to look blustery.

2. There was some Sean Murphy trade news starting up on the first day of the winter meetings...and then there wasn't. We discuss how that all unfolded and another talk about media literacy.
