Locked On Jets - Daily Podcast On The New York Jets

One show wasn't enough to adequately sum up Sunday's catastrophe in Nashville. I can't speak to everybody else's experience watching that game. Maybe you were excited about the prospect of a win while you were watching the game. A win with Josh McCown wouldn't have done much for me so I watched Sunday's game with very restrained satisfaction. It feels like only the Jets could turn a game I didn't care much about for the first 59 minutes and change into a loss that infuriated me.

In the immortal words of Frank Costanza, "I've got a lot of problems with you people, and now you're gonna hear about it." On today's podcast we will talk more aspects of this game that stunk upon 24 hours of reflection and some rewatching.

In a season that has been full of embarrassments, the Jets outdid themselves yesterday in Nashville. They managed to lose a game in which the Tennessee Titans did everything within their power to throw it away. They managed to lose a game they led by 16 points. They managed to lose a game they only trailed for 36 seconds. I could probably go on all day about how improbable this loss was. It was a stunning display of ineptitude even for this team.

On today's podcast I try to put my state of disbelief aside to talk about what happened. This was the worst loss in a laughable season. We will discuss what made it so bad, why now is the time to make a change, the worst culprits, and the bright spots.

The Jets continue their march to the end of the 2018 season this Sunday as they travel to Nashville for a game against the Tennessee Titans. The Jets are struggling, currently on a five game losing streak. The Titans are also struggling, albeit to a lesser extent. They have followed up a surprising demolition of the Patriots two weeks ago with back to back losses. Both teams will be desperate to get back into the win column on Sunday.

On today's podcast we preview the game, taking a look at key players, key matchups, and keys to victory. What needs to happen if the Jets are to pull off a road upset and try to start salvaging something out of an ugly 2018 season?

The Jets continue their march towards the end of this season with a trip to Nashville this Sunday. The team will take on the Tennessee Titans. The Jets will get a struggling opponent, although that opponent is struggling less than they are.

Because the Titans played on Monday night, this week's podcast schedule got jumbled a bit. We pushed back our Crossover Wednesday show to Thursday. Terry Lambert from Locked on Titans and I put together this week's crossover show. I call it the show of misery. With both teams playing so poorly, it is difficult to find optimism from either side.

Mired in another miserable season, changes are likely coming to the Jets. A coaching change is a virtual certainty. A change in general managers is also plausible, albeit less clear. Things haven't gone the way this regime has planned.

We have done plenty of looking to the past. On today's show I offer some thoughts on how the Jets should build their team going forward. In some of these areas the Jets have arguably made an attempt to follow this advice already, but the results just haven't been there. In any event, there are some things I think this team needs to keep in mind as it digs itself out from another disappointing year.

Sunday was another ugly day at MetLife Stadium for the Jets in a season that has been full of them. Any hopes the Jets would get the ship back on track out of the bye were dashed as they fell to the New England Patriots 27-13 in Week 12 NFL action. The Jets are now 3-8 and on a five game losing streak. Just a month and a half ago, the team was 3-3, and things were looking up.

On today's podcast we recap the ugliness. Manhandled in the trenches on both sides of the ball, the Jets were totally dominated in the second half of the game. Their inability to cover did not help either. The bright spots in this game were few and far between, arguably limited to a rising star at safety and a kicker. We will discuss this all on today's show.

Things do not look pretty for the Jets. The team finds itself currently on a five game losing streak. The team isn't just on the verge of missing the Playoffs for an eighth straight season. It seems increasingly likely the Jets will win five or less games for the third straight year. That is not exactly what people envisioned at the start of the season.

The theme of today's podcast is numbers. Throughout the show I will provide some key numbers that will tell the story of the Jets. We will discuss how they got into this position and where they are now. None of this is good. There still is at least room for hope as the final numbers will show.

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving.  The holiday weekend continues today on the busiest shopping day of the year, but we have a game on Sunday to discuss.

The 3-7 Jets return from their bye to play the first of two games this season against the New England Patriots. Things are not pretty around this team. The Jets are on a four game losing streak and embarrassed themselves the last time out against the Buffalo Bills. Now they must face the division's dominant team.

On today's podcast we discuss the game and name some keys to victory for the Jets if they are to pull off an upset.

It is the day before Thanksgiving. If you are traveling for the holiday, please be safe today.

It is also podcast Crossover Wednesday. The Jets come out of their bye with a game against the rival New England Patriots this Sunday in the Meadowlands. Joining us for today's crossover show is Mark Schofield, the host of Locked on Patriots. We will discuss the seasons the Jets and the Patriots are having. As has frequently been the case through the years, these teams enter a rivalry showdown in very different places.

From the New England side, we will discuss the players having big years and disappointing seasons along with other key factors heading into this game.
