Normally our Monday podcasts are spent breaking down the game the Jets just played. That is not the case this week since the Jets did not play on Sunday. They had their bye week so we spent it watching the rest of the NFL. The Jets will come out of Week 10 only one game out of the final Playoff spot in the AFC. It is difficult to believe both due to the low expectations the team had at the start of the year and the poor recent play by the Jets.
There isn't much clear about the home stretch. On today's show we take a look at five key questions for the team that will be answered during the final six weeks of the 2017 season. Many of these questions are important both for the short term and long term health of the team. They will determine both whether the Jets can compete for a Playoff spot and personnel moves the team may make during the upcoming offseason. Some players might prove themselves worth or not worth keeping based on how they finish 2017.

Usually Friday podcasts preview that week's game, but the Jets do not have a game this Sunday. They are on their bye week. This weekend you can watch college football, other NFL teams, do some late season leaf raking, get ready for Thanskgiving, or any number of things. You just can't watch the Jets.
The bye week is a chance for the coaching staff to take stock of their team and figure out potential tweaks to make going forward. On today's podcast I suggest four tweaks for the coaching staff over the last six weeks of the season. Some deal with personnel. Others deal with philosophical strategy. Others deal with maximizing the skillsets of certain players. None of these tweaks will turn the Jets into a Super Bowl contender this year. They probably won't even make the Jets a Playoff team, but they could give this team a better chance of winning the games that remain on the schedule in 2017.

The Jets are in the middle of their bye week right now. The team is 4-6 and has the week off to rest and prepare for the stretch run.
The team is still in the Playoff race, but there is not much margin for error over the final six games of the season. The Jets might need to win all six to make the postseason. At the very least, five out of six is likely essential.
That seems unlikely, but there are things to consider aside from the immediate future. The Jets also have an eye to 2018 and beyond. With that in mind, today the podcast takes a look at four players with question marks heading into the end of the season. These players have all provided reasons for both optimism and concern during the first ten games of the season. All four carry different questions.

The Jets went into their bye on a bitter note. They lost their Week 10 game to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 15-10. The team is now 4-6 heading into its bye.
This loss can be pinned squarely on the offense. With the defense playing well and Ryan Fitzpatrick looking erratic, there was every opportunity for the Jets to win this game. The offense could not generate anything. It looked like the offense many predicted before the start of the season. There were numerous culprits including Josh McCown and some of the receivers, but no unit was worse than the offensive line. The Jets lost this game at the point of attack. If you ever wonder why people talk about the importance of controlling the trenches in football, watching this game could help explain it. The Jets lost this game up front. We break it all down in today's podcast.

There was plenty of news on Monday regarding the Jets' upcoming game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and we discuss it on the podcast today.
The league officially announced the suspension of Jets wide receiver Jeremy Kerley. There were reports last week that a suspension was coming. The Jets did not deny those reports, but Kerley was able to suit up for Thursday's game against the Buffalo Bills. Now the four game suspension is official. The first game Kerley misses will be Sunday against Tampa Bay. What does this mean for the Jets. With one receiver out, it is an opportunity for other players to step up.
The Jets probably were not happy about losing Kerley, but Tampa Bay had a worse Monday. Jameis Winston is out of the game against the Jets. Tampa Bay decided to shut down their franchise quarterback, who has been dealing with injury concerns. The Bucs also saw their top receiver Mike Evans suspended for an incident in Sunday's game against New Orleans. That means old friend Ryan Fitzpatrick will start Sunday possibly without Evans depending on a potential appeal. We discuss it.
