The Miami Marlins opened up their nine-game road trip the best way possible, jumping on the NL-Central Leading Milwaukee Brewers for five runs in the first two innings on the way to an easy 6-2 win in Milwaukee.

Bryan De La Cruz hit a two-run home run and Jake Burger hit a solo shot ins the top of the first inning, as the Marlins jumped out in front of the first-place Brewers early and never looked back in this series opener. J

osh Bell added a solo homer in the ninth for the Marlins, who also scored two runs in the second inning on an error by Brewers shortstop Willy Adames, as they jumped out to a 5-0 lead. 

Burger, Bell, De La Cruz, and Nick Fortes had two hits apiece for the Marlins, and Jazz Chisholm scored twice, wreaking havoc on the bases. 

Trevor Rogers (2-9) pitched 5 1/3 innings for Miami, earning his first win since May, and the first by a Marlins starting pitcher since early June. Rogers gave up both Brewers runs on six hits. The Marlins bullpen took over from there, with three relievers combining to toss 3 2/3 scoreless innings. 

Rhys Hoskins homered for Milwaukee, and Jackson Chourio added two hits. 

The two teams play the second of this weekend three-game series tomorrow night at Great American Ballpark. First pitch is set for 7:10pm ET. 

Max Meyer, (2-0, 2.12) who hasn't pitched since April 13, will start for Miami. Aaron Civil (2-7, 5.17) will pitch for Milwaukee.
