Max Scherzer has reportedly told the New York Mets that he would prefer if they hired Buck Showalter to become the new manager.

Mets beat reporter Pat Ragazzo of Sports Illustrated was the first on the story and he joins the show today to give an update on where things stand in the Mets search for a new manager.

Along with discussing the manager search, host Ryan Finkelstein gets Pat's take on how the Mets offseason has gone so far with the hiring of Billy Eppler and the big splash they made in the first wave of free agency.

If you want to check out Pat Ragazzo's reporting on Max Scherzer and his preference of having Showalter as his next manager, you can find the story here.

If the New York Mets are going all-in this offseason, there are few moves that could change impact their World Series hopes more than trading for José Ramírez. The question is, what would it take for the Mets to land Ramírez in a trade?

Host Ryan Finkelstein explores different trade packages that could entice the Cleveland Guardians and which players should be on the table in those trades.

Brett Baty, Ronny Mauricio, Mark Vientos, Jeff McNeil and Dominic Smith are just a handful of players that could be considered as trade chips for Ramírez, but what would be the most realistic package for the Mets to land the three-time Silver Slugger?

Before the CBA expired on Wednesday, the New York Mets expressed interest in signing free agent Kris Bryant. Who would be the best fit to play third base for the Mets in 2022, Bryant or José Ramírez?

Host Ryan Finkelstein breaks down which All-Star is the better player to have with the Mets long-term. While the Mets would have to trade for Ramírez the upside could be worth it to pair him with his old Cleveland teammate Francisco Lindor.

Javier Báez is no longer a New York Met, as he signed a six-year, $140 million deal with the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday. This means the Mets gave up top prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong for a few months of Báez in a season that ended in a third place finish.

While the Mets would love to go back in time and handle the trade deadline differently, things could have gone much worse.

Host Ryan Finkelstein revisits the deadline and how things would have gone if they had traded for Max Scherzer instead of Báez. The Mets over-anxious approach at the deadline cost them, but the net result has them in a far better position now then they could have been if a few things went differently.

The New York Mets capped off their free agent spending spree with the most expensive item on the board, inking Max Scherzer to a three-year, $130 million deal.

Host Ryan Finkelstein breaks down how the Mets roster has been changed overnight, particularly with the addition of Scherzer. Also Javier Baez could be heading out of town. Are the Mets making a mistake not pushing harder to sign the former All-Star?
