Today, Dane takes a look at the Dallas Stars defensive core. All but one of last years players are making a return to the lineup for the ’23-’24 season. The goal of this episode is to predict what the three defensive pairs will look like when the Stars season begins in October. Who will play top minutes with Miro Heiskanen? Where does Thomas Harley fit in as he makes his full jump to the NHL? Will Nils Lundkvist get a fair opportunity?

More Dallas Stars trade talk on tap for today’s episode as Dane discusses the idea of defenseman Brett Pesce playing in Texas. There is a chance that Pesce will not re-sign with the Carolina Hurricanes, which means he could be traded before the 2023-2024 season begins. Would the Stars be wise to look into a trade like this? What would they have to give up? Where would Pesce fit in the lineup?

On Tuesday morning it was announced that Ed Belfour and Ken Hitchcock will be inducted to the Dallas Stars Hall of Fame. Belfour is the greatest goalie the Dallas Stars franchise has ever seen. He was a huge reason why the Stars won the Stanley Cup in 1999. Not to be forgotten, Hitchcock is the only Stars head coach to ever win a Stanley Cup, and his leadership of the Stars specifically from 1997-2001 was iconic. Today Dane reflects on the legacy of both men and how they shaped the culture of Texas Hockey.

The Dallas Stars are poised to be one of the best teams in the NHL and that has Dane thinking some pretty bold thoughts. Today we entertain those thoughts with three way too early bold predictions for the Dallas Stars for the 2023-2024 NHL season. Is Mason Marchment set to have a big bounce-back campaign? it might be more likely than you think. What is the ceiling for Thomas Harley in his first full NHL season? Will Wyatt Johnston find a way to improve after his electric rookie season?
