Locked On Titans - Daily Podcast On The Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans have a number of paths available to them at the top of the NFL Draft, but one thing they simply cannot do is trade up and especially for Jeremiyah Love. Taking a running back that high is already bad value in today's league, but trading multiple assets to move up and take a running back is simply malpractice. If the Titans like Love, take him at #4 and if someone wants to take him before you, it is what it is. Then you would have ample options at your disposal on the defensive side of the ball that may very well attract a team behind you to TRADE up. Trading down is the only logical trade path for the Titans going forward if they don't end up picking at #4.

SEVEN ROUND MOCK DRAFT: The Tennessee Titans have made it through one week of NFL Free Agency and right now things point to David Bailey as the Titans first pick in the NFL Draft over fan favorite Jeremiyah Love. Love is a dynamic playmaker, but with historical precedent and roster needs taken into account, Bailey seems like the choice of Love. Calvin Ridley got a restructured deal over the weekend, but even with that, the Titans still need to attack the wide receiver position on Day 2 of the NFL Draft, but they also need to keep an eye on the interior offensive line after not making many upgrades there and having multiple spots open. Finally, Day 3 of the draft is simply about throwing darts and seeing if you can find some starters and that's exactly what the plan should be and taking a chance on high upside players is the way to do it.

The Tennessee Titans finally cut cornerback L'Jarius Sneed on Friday in a move many fans have been waiting on. It will save the team nearly $12 million in additional salary cap space and will leave behind $8 million in dead cap. Regardless of the finances, as the Titans move to a new system and a new era, it was best to leave Sneed in the dust as one of the worst acquisitions in franchise history. While the Titans while gain cap space from the Sneed cut, they also got a mysterious $20 million in additional cap relief due to a supposed insurance policy that were able to make claim on. Apparently, this is a function of the CBA and has been something that is in place for quite some time. The Titans allegedly will benefit from the injury absences of Sneed and Calvin Ridley, adding to their robust cap situation. Finally, the Titans could create more cap space from a Ridley cut, along with cuts of Tony Pollard and Cody Barton, but these are becoming less likely by the day as the Titans have not added any depth at those spots at this time.

The Tennessee Titans finally unveiled their new logo and uniforms and THEY ARE INCREDIBLE!!! From the color change to the simplified logo to the details in the jerseys, the Titans hit a homerun with their new brand. First, the color of the light Titans blue with the accents of red is the best color scheme in the NFL and always will be. Leaning into it is a magnificent choice. The font of the numbers and text pops off the jersey and looks incredible. Adding the touch of guitar strings on the sleeves, helmet and pants is such a fantastic detail and nod to Music City. Truly knocked it out of the park! A reminder, not only is this a new era for the logo and the uniforms, but for Titans football in general, led by Cam Ward and a wave of new Titans coaches. This truly feels like the beginning of something special. Finally, the Titans did actually add some football players on Thursday with Jacob Martin, Tony Adams and Kyler Granson. Reunions continue with the coaching staff, but all of these players serve a real purpose in filling out the roster. What a week for the Tennessee Titans!!!

The Tennessee Titans signed another edge rusher on Thursday morning in Jacob Martin. Martin adds to a group that is less than inspiring. The issues make it very clear the Titans plan on taking an edge very early in the NFL Draft, but point to a specific kind of player with speed. Even with Femi Oladejo, Jermaine Johnson, Jaylen Harrell and Martin, the spot is not finished. Also, with the Titans set to unveil a new logo and uniforms on Thursday night, Tyler says goodbye to all the great memories being a Titans fan has provided since the "flaming thumbtack" has been the primary logo for the football team.

The Tennessee Titans have made it through three days of free agency and while they did a lot on Day 1 and added depth on Day 2, some key positions are getting slim like edge rusher and center as targets fly off the board. The Titans will need to move quickly if they hope to add anyone of real value before the logical options are all gone. Thursday is a big day for Titans fans as the new logo and uniforms are set to be revealed. This makes it the perfect time to confirm certain details we know are true and discuss the Titans making a big mistake by not live-streaming the event to their worldwide fanbase. Either way, it is an exciting time and what we DO KNOW about the new brand is very encouraging. Finally, Cam Ward is back throwing the football as revealed by "Select QB Athletics" on Instagram and that should be music to Titans fans ears as the good news keeps coming in.

The Tennessee Titans and the NFL world were shocked on Tuesday night when the Baltimore Ravens backed out of the Maxx Crosby trade and sent the edge rusher back to the Las Vegas Raiders. While this doesn't mean the Titans will have a shot at Crosby or Tyler Linderbaum, there is a chance it could lead to a trade for Jackson Powers-Johnson, who has to change positions due to the Linderbaum signing. Also, the Titans made a few signings over the past 16 hours to bolster and complete the special teams unit with Tommy Townsend, Joey Slye and Bryce Oliver. This sets up the Titans to have an ELITE group in the special teams room.

The Tennessee Titans did absolutely nothing on Day 2 of Free Agency and while that doesn't erase all the action they had on Day 1, it does leave you a little concerned about what the plan is for key spots like interior offensive line and edge. The Titans need legitimate starters at both spots and shouldn't wait around too long to add guys who can make sense. Positions with less concern, but still needing bodies include linebacker, safety and running back. At this point, the Titans are looking at cheap depth at all three, but still need to fortify those to move into the draft safely. Finally, a lot of national media are criticizing the Titans signings on Day 1 and it seems to be devoid of the reality of not only where the Titans are at, but what these players mean to the psychological side of football where the Titans need improvements as much as on the field.
