On today's episode of Locked on Wild, Zach Zeman joins the show to discuss which players are the best in the Central Division. We start by wondering if we need to be concerned about Marco Rossi not playing in tonight's preseason game against Colorado. Is it just a day off? Or is the team leaning toward him starting the season in Iowa? We will get our first look at Kirill Kaprizov and most of the regulars will also be playing, which is the bright side to Rossi being held out.

We then move to the best players the Central Division has to offer. Cam Talbot gets narrowly edged out by Marc-Andre Fleury and Connor Hellebuyck for the top goalies in the division. In Zach's Central Division lineup, the Wild to get Kirill Kaprizov on the top line. As we look at the top forward lines throughout the Central, the Wild end up with one of the top lines behind Colorado. On defense we discuss whether or not Jared Spurgeon and Jonas Brodin are the best defensemen tandem in the divison, with the top overall defender going to Cale Makar. We finish the episode looking at each team's top Power Play unit, with the Wild again finishing near the top.

We start by looking at whether or not Shane Wright will ever drop lower than first overall in the class. Gabe also goes through the tiers of his first round rankings to give his favorite player from each tier. On today's episode of Locked on Wild, Alex Micheletti joins the show to look at which players are the biggest X Factors for their teams. We start by looking at why Adam Beckman is making enough noise that the Wild may end up calling him up to start the season. We then look at the Wild's X Factor Players, Seth nominates Joel Eriksson Ek and Alex goes with Cam Talbot. In Eriksson Ek's case, if he continues his offensive surge, he could help take Kirill Kaprizov to another gear. If he regresses offensively the Wild have one fewer scoring option. If Cam Talbot has another strong season the Wild will be primed for a big 2021-22 campaign. But if he struggles, the Wild will have a big decision to make in the offseason. We also look at the Avalanche, Blackhawks, Jets, Blues, Stars, Predators and Coyotes to see which players will most impact their seasons!

On today's episode of Locked on Wild, Spoked Z joins the show to discuss several Minnesota Wild topics as we get closer to the start of the 2021-22 season. We start by getting Spoked's reaction to Kirill Kaprizov signing his extension with the Wild. On today's episode of Locked on Wild, friend of the show Wyatt Garin joins as we discuss some of BetOnline AG's NHL odds for the 2021-22 season. We start by looking at the Wild's odds to win the Western Conference, and agree that it's weird that the Wild have just slightly better odds than the Kraken to win. They both also agree that it should come down to Vegas and Colorado. As far as division odds go, Wyatt likes that the Wild have the second best odds, and Seth agrees that there is a lot that could go right or wrong with the rest of the Central Division. As far as Stanley Cup odds, both agree that the Wild have pretty good odds while being in the top half of teams this year.

We move to player projections and Seth and Wyatt both predict big things for Kirill Kaprizov. They both take the over on his goals for 2021-22, which according to Yahoo Fantasy is set at 38. With Kevin Fiala, both Seth and Wyatt say his over/under of 29 feels just about right. Wyatt predicts a big season for Joel Eriksson Ek, with 28 goals and Seth says he certainly could hit that if he's the top center on this team. We look at an interesting low number for combined goals for Matt Boldy and Marco Rossi, while suggesting it should be fairly easy for them if they both make the roster to eclipse 5 combined goals. Seth predicts a big season for Nico Sturm, and takes the over on his 13 projected goals. And Wyatt takes the under on 30 wins for Cam Talbot, because of a more even split in starts between him and Kaapo Kahkonen.

On today's episode of Locked on Wild, Dane Lewis of Locked on Stars joins for a crossover episode! We start by looking at what Jason Robertson can do in his 2nd NHL season. Will he continue the strong start to his NHL career or is there potential for him to regress in year two? We then ask Dane what to expect from Dallas after so much went wrong for them last season. We finish by looking at why Tyler Seguin is the Star most primed for a huge bounce back season.

On the Wild end Dane asks what Stars fans can expect from Kirill Kaprizov with this being their first season to see him play live. We also discuss if the Wild can have as successful of a season in 2021-22 as they did in 2020-21 or if they will regress slightly with the full schedule on their plate. We finish by looking at expectations for how they will contend in the Central. We finish by looking at why the Wild and Stars are primed to finish in the top 4 in the Central Division.

On today's episode of Locked on Wild, we recap the Wild's preseason opening loss to St. Louis. We discuss why Adam Beckman was the lone highlight and if we should be concerned by the struggles of Kaapo Kahkonen and Andrew Hammond. We also look at some of Dean Evason's comments after the game in regards to Jordan Greenway's performance in particular.

We then move to the announcement of Alternate Captains Marcus Foligno and Matt Dumba and why they are both great fits that were unanimously supported by the rest of the team. With Foligno his physical presence always sets the tone for the Wild and so him being an Alternate Captain is a no brainer. With Dumba, his work off the ice have made him into a natural leader for this team.

We then look at some changes the Wild have made to their lines so far in the preseason and if they make sense as long term plans or if they will need to be adjusted before the season starts. In the case of Joel Eriksson Ek on the top line, that should be allowed to play out. The bottom two lines will be a bit of a work in progress though. We finish by looking at the rest of the week, including another preseason game coming up Thursday against Colorado in which Cam Talbot will likely make his preseason debut.

On today's episode of Locked on Wild, Jessi Pierce and Alexis Pearson of the Bardown Beauties Podcast join the show!
