After a PWR-wide week off, Jess and Jacob are back to get very giddy about Derby Day in a bumper episode featuring not one but two guests, including a welcome return to an old friend of the pod, Elis Martin who is now with Loughborough, and a first ever interview of our American superstar prop Keia Mae Sagapolu Sanele! Before then we chat the specific aspects related to the women's section in the 2024 Tigers accounts. After a brief but considered review of the Bristol game, we turn our attention to Loughborough, in what will not only be an exciting derby fixture but also against a fellow league struggler and we have form going into this game, having won twice now away at Franklins Garden. Enjoy!
Jess and Jacob are back in a vain attempt to offer themselves, fans and the women’s team therapy and catharsis to go over just how a famous win against a quality Trailfinders side slipped from our grasp. Before then, we summarise our collective anger at the recent revelations levelled against the WRU in their treatment of the women’s national team, go over some surprising PWR results and briefly reflect on a good weekend for the Tigers feeder clubs in Champ 1! Enjoy, if you can!
After a week off, Jess and Jacob are back to blow the cobwebs off the Quins game, talk why Tigers are so susceptible to intercepts but also emphasise how f-ing good Julia Omokhuale was. We talk World Cup fixtures and Tigers involvement in the second tier over the rest week. This is all before we have an enthralling and insightful chat with the incredible commentator Claire Thomas who will be on the mic for the Ealing game this Sunday on TNT Sports. We then chat about the Ealing game and selection connundrums for Tom Hudson as we have a pretty decent clean bill of health, loads of international players and an EQP quota to meet! Enjoy the episode!
Battling power outages, wifi issues and gloominess surrounding the Chiefs game, Jess and Jacob are back to park the Sunday loss to Chiefs as done and dusted, whilst still finding time for the #GiveReverencetoCharlotteFray section and praise Evie Wills, Jordan Russell and Nadine Vincent for all being included in the PWR Team of The Week. We round up WXV as we get excited for the impact of our returning internationals as well as get super hyped for the Double Header this Sunday at Mattioli Woods Welford Road! Enjoy!
With full-match replays, social media hits and stats galore, there may be some semblance of wisdom in this week's episode as Jess and Jacob reflect on our defeat to Gloucester-Hartpury, which is full of positives but also easy fixes ahead of our tough away fixture to Chiefs. We slightly panic about injuries, but praise our team performances, resilience, fight and fitness and showcase the difference between this fixture and the last time we played Gloucester-Hartpury away. With Tiger Watch on WXV, chats about male allyship at the club and our own little rant (or Cheika Chat as Jess calls it) about the ongoing independent match day doctor debacle means this is another bumper of an LTW Fancast episode.
After a weekend of WXV action, Jess and Jacob return to do a Tigerrrr watch and chat a little about ongoing discourse surrounding crowds and format of WXV. Our focus subsequently turns back to the domestic game as we chat about the reaction to this season’s new Powered Differently campaign. We then move on to preview the return of Premiership Women’s Rugby as Tigers will be travelling to Kingsholm on Sunday 6th October live on TNT Sports to take on defending champions Gloucester-Hartpury. This result is by no means a foregone conclusion, and having the far better of PWR Up Series campaigns as well as being less affected by WXV call-ups, we think this game is the best time for Tigers Women to be playing the Slater Cup!
Amidst storms, rain, HIA stoppages, thunderous hits and a match that seemingly never ended, Leicester Tigers Women emerged from a game (that sounds like the stuff of legend) victorious. Jess and Jacob return to the airwaves triumphant as we celebrate a second consecutive away Derby Day victory, and our first top-flight win since February 10th 2025. Amidst all the excitement of post-Derby Day victory jubilation, we also get ready for a jam-packed weekend of WXV as up to twelve Tigers internationals could be featuring this weekend for their national teams. Then, Jacob is joined by one of the Originals, as Tigers Women legend Ofure Ugiagbe is our guest star: chatting about her journey back into rugby in 2021, through the Championship and some compelling insight into her experience of Tigers inaugural season in the top flight last year. This one's a good'un, enjoy!
Woohoo Leicester Tigers Women were back in action, and although it was another home defeat, we reflect positively on 12 amazing debutants for the club as well as other encouraging signs of growth against a decent Sharks side! Before then, we have a lengthy news section comprising of the Red Roses vs Black Ferns (including Twickenham Toilets obviously), get excited for WXV and a Scottish side red hot on form with our Thistled Tigers in tow. As Jacob talks us through his insights after attending the Sale match (including his mama's, well the only ones safe to air anyway) we then preview an intriguing PWR Up Series finale against Loughborough Lightning SLASH Northampton Saints away at Franklin Gardens as we gear up for our first women's East Mids Derby of the season. Enjoy!
Recovering from the devastating news of James Earl Jones' passing, Jess and Jacob reunite after a summer break to dust off the airwaves and speak about all things Leicester Tigers' Women. We chat the Olympics and Paralympics, activate 'Operation Don't Panic' with the news about Meg Jones' injury and yet again have another discussion about inadequate social media content by the club of the women's team (which is basically a weekly ritual for us now).
Jess has some exciting news about a brand new initiative that she is on the committee of, and we get excited about Tigers' new signings as well as getting ready for WXV and the women's first game of the season in the PWR Up Series against Sale Sharks at Mattioli Woods Welford Road, where we get geared up to see all the new players in action and look for signs of improvement from last season. Buckle up for another bumper! It's so good to be back!
As always, leave us a review on Spotify, message us on our socials and give us an email at the [email protected] to get in touch.
With Jess recovered from jet lag and Jacob recovered from a post-exam Otley Run, the two JBs are back for one final episode of Season 1 to do an End of Season Review. We briefly review the last game of the season against Exeter Chiefs before announcing our coveted, no-expense-spared, highly prized LTW Fancast End of Season Awards. We then debate on how our season has gone, going over on-field stuff like attack, set-piece and defence but also off-field stuff such as marketing and social media of women’s team. With player departures and new signings still to be confirmed, we also have a chat as to where we think this squad is at and what needs to be done to allow big improvements for next season. We then round off our end of season review with quality podcast journalism of cheap digs at Loughborough Lightning and musings on the weather. Enjoy!
