This week on Space To Learn Lucy's talking about the incredibly important topic that is Climate Change. Despite what we might believe, we all have power in our lives to make a difference in reducing our carbon footprints, educating ourselves on the issues we face and being conscious about what we spend our money on. Pursuing a sustainable lifestyle can often seem futile or impossible but there are so so many easy things we can do to reduce our impact on the planet and it is now vital that we all make these changes and see the Climate Crisis as something we are capable of reversing. Please share this episode with friends, family and on social media - this issue is only going to be fixed when we all come together and create a sense of community and shared responsibility.

Mental Health is such a vital part of our wellbeing yet mental illness and poor mental health are really not talked about enough. Especially in these current 'rona times, keeping up with everything life throws at you and not feeling overwhelmed or anxious can be extremely difficult. In this episode, Lucy has a very informal, raw chat about the growing issues surrounding mental health in the student community, comparison, spirituality and feelings of loneliness. If you take anything away from the pod, let it be that being kind to yourself is not a weakness, and that you're doing enough :)
Enjoy the episode and have a lovely week, whatever you're doing.

Got an interview at a university and not sure how to prepare?? This episode is a great place to start! Lucy explains what her 3 university interviews were like and chats through the things you should do before, during and after your interview (as well the things you definitely shouldn't do!) As a current physics student, the advice is perfect for anyone applying for science based degrees, but regardless of the subject you're planning on studying, interview prep is always going to be useful! Welcome to Season 2 of Space To Learn!! In this episode Lucy chats all about starting new things, why it's normal to feel anxious or intimidated by unfamiliar situations and how you have the power to turn every day into one that has a positive impact on your life through adopting the right mindset rather than waiting for a new week, new month or new year. Join me for a very chatty episode where I ramble about things I've learnt over the past 6 months in lockdown in the hope that it can offer a fresh perspective or a new outlook. Whatever 2020 has looked like for you so far I hope this episode reaches you in a good place - that you're okay and doing good - because this has been such a crazy and difficult time for so many people in a lot of different ways. I also share some thoughts on anti-racism, Clap for Carers, community, self-care, commitment and the Law of Attraction - it's a real mixed bag this week!
Please leave a review on Apple Podcasts if you are enjoying the podcast so far! Lucy x
This episode is for all the perfectionists out there or anyone who has ever been scared to fail (so all of us?!) I chat through why failure is such a valuable tool, why we should value progress over the end result, climate change and bettering yourself. Perfectionism can be a really tough mindset to shift out of so if you often feel stressed, intimidated or lack self-belief when faced with a new challenge then this episode should really help!

Applying to uni - where do I start? The university application process can definitely seem daunting, so this week I'm here to chat you through my advice and tips for making your application the best it can be and to help ease any nerves you might have about this important task. I chat through things I included in my Personal Statement for Physics and give general tips for any students thinking about applying to higher education. It's never too early to get started so dive right into the episode if you need some motivation to take the first steps - I hope it helps you! As always ask me any questions you might have about applying via the instagram @spacetolearnpodcast or drop me an email [email protected] Good luck! (And congratulations if you've just received your A Level results!) Lucy x
The Butterfly Effect says that tiny things can have a huge impact- so this week I'm talking about how to reduce anxiety from thinking about the future and how acts of kindness can really make a big difference. I talk about how our futures are influenced by so many uncontrollable little things that it is impossible to predict exactly what it might look like, and how to see this as a positive thing rather than it leading you to stress.
Thank you so much for the support and please continue to share with your friends! Lots of love, Lucy x
