The Texas Longhorns are one of just four schools with both the men's and women's team represented in the Sweet 16, although they took different paths to get there.

The men needed a buzzer-beater in the First Four, before picking up two decisive wins over BYU and Gonzaga to advance to the second weekend of the tournament. Now they face a Purdue squad with a pair of double-digit wins under its belt in the opening weekend.

Conversely, the Texas women faced no trouble in the first round, propelled by the excellence of Madi Booker and Rori Harmon. They held serve at Moody Center and now travel to Fort Worth to close out the regional as the top seed.
