Imprisoned in the California Institution for Women in Chino, California, since 2024 for the murder of two young brothers killed in a hit-and-run, Rebecca Grossman is adjusting to a very different lifestyle than the one she was used to. The one-time publisher of a luxury lifestyle magazine and heir to a multimillion-dollar plastic surgery fortune hasn’t taken her dramatic fall from grace lying down. Since being sentenced to 15 years to life for two counts of second-degree murder, Rebecca Grossman has tapped every resource available to her to avoid consequences, both criminal and financial. Her refusal to accept responsibility has weighed heavily on the family of the two victims, 11-year-old Mark and 8-year-old Jacob Iskander. On September 29, 2020 Rebecca was behind the wheel of a super-charged Mercedes-Benz that struck the boys in a crosswalk as their mother and younger sibling looked on in horror—having just barely survived themselves. An investigation into the crash revealed Rebecca was under the influence of alcohol and Valium, and perhaps more damningly, was engaged in a high-speed road race with her lover, former Major League pitcher Scott Erickson. After five years of conjecture and speculation, a jury will have the opportunity to decide once and for all on Erickson’s level of culpability, and whether or not the Iskanders are owed a multi-million dollar sum from the Grossman’s for the death of their two boys.
