(2/6/24) Markets sold off slightly yesterday, but remain withing striking distance of 5,000 on the S&P. We believe markets will achieve that level before the current rally is over. At this point, it's all about gravitational pull and the psychological draw of big, round numbers. Once markets get there, be prepared for a sell-off. Meanwhile, the expectation of rate cuts had spawned a rally in yields. Now that the Fed has walked-back on that idea, yield action has reversed, bond prices are rising, and the 10-year Treasuries are sitting right on support. Bonds are oversold enough that there is room for an upside rally.
